This little guy is amazing. I always wanted to get a drone, so this entry level was my go to, after watching many videos on youtube etc, I had to get this guy. from never having used a drone, this was super easy from the beginning. Make sure you watch videos play a simulator before actually flying it. On your first flight make sure you are in a wide open field and more importantly follow the FAA rules. DJI software has a lot to help you, if you are in a restricted area it will actually not allow you to take off or if you are flying towards a restricted area it will actually stop when it reaches the border line, like there is an invisible force field.

I use this primarily for aerial photos of construction jobs so it is never far or over 115. The ability to vary the rate of turn, proceed, reverse, ascend or descend is very responsive. It is not an all or nothing input. Photo clarity is good, video has no jumping, settings allow you to adjust frequency if req. Color is adjustable, photos are 169 or 43 ratio.Negative qualities no instructions with the product, you will eventually figure out which app is likely to operate your drone, it is not obvious, must be downloaded to your phone. Unit cannot be controlled from an iPad size device. App will give a basic tutorial on how to operate the unit. The terms and conditions are likely illegal but must be agreed to.Photos or videos will reserve space on your phone even if you do not download them. I have a small memory capacity so it is very noticeable. They are deletable. If you turn off settings like use my phone location, drone will not operate. I would not recommend this for a first drone, it is certainly more capable than that. I would recommend it.

Very good product. DJI is a good company that makes quality drones for recreational use and photography. I am a novice at this and am still learning, but this drone is compact and makes for a good starter. This all being said, the company will tell you all the great things about the drone, you need the negatives from me. While it has a great range, in practice, it has only gotten around 2000 m away from me before I have lost radio contact. This compared to the 6 that I believe it claims to be its limit. Additionally, the actual flight time will never reach 30 min in practice. It is instead closer to 2223 min depending on what your doing, which can vary wildly. The last thing that I found disappointing was the lack of a tracking feature and no object avoidance in this drone. Overall, it is a reliable drone with a solid price point.

Fantastic 4K 30 fps and easy footage to edit in Lr, Ps or Pr. Cant beat the price. Buy the refresh, the combo w spare batts and use the cine mode. If you are a first time flyer I highly recommend understanding what happens when you are out of range andor lose your signal. This will allow you to safely recover and not respond in crisis mode. The same for understanding how to properly calibrate your unitbecause if you dont the thing has a mind of its own. Great product. 5 stars.

My first drone and I love it. I have no other drones to compare this with but its amazing, impressive, and totally worth its cost. I recommend buying the Fly More Combo. I dont fly much myself but I always find the extra batteries to be very useful since they die very quickly and take very long to charge up. I ordered propeller guards which I strongly suggest you buy because I crashed my drone indoors and 2 propellers broke. Luckily this fly more combo also includes more sets of propellers.

I came to the DJI Mini 2 after playing around with a much cheaper drone with much cheaper controls, much cheaper camera, and much cheaper software, all of which lead to a crappy cheap drone experience, which meant that this drone almost never happened. Ive been developing a real interest in photography, though, and decided to take a big chance. So glad I did. Drones are a really a neat new twist to my photography hobby. To begin with, everything about setting the drone up for its first flight was enjoyable. Its a fairly involved process, but everything is prompted, and youre guided through your first drone flight. For those of us used to crappy drone experiences and have lost crappy drones, this is really calming, welcome, and useful. Then, there are readymade flight and photovideo setups, ways to recall the drone when you get uneasy that you might lose it, and I am that uneasy, and the controls just make sense. And finally, frankly, this drone clearly is set up for veterans, but made so well that beginners can use it, too. I would recommend this to everyone.A few notesI couldnt wait and tried my first drone flight just as a stormfront was approaching. I only took the drone about 20 feet up and the drone was fairly stable even as it was buffeted by gusts of winds 15 mph or so. I got a few photos of the roof of the house, all of which were clear and detailed. A huge plus.My phone is about 6 years old. It was a topoftheline Android when it came out and is still working just fine. It runs the drone software acceptably well, but, screw it, Im getting a new phone ASAP.There are tons of drone enthusiasts online. Theyre helpful and show things that make you want to get out there. Its fun, creative, and exciting. Make sure that you know the drone laws in your area, though. Where I live, most of the parks are off limits to drones and Id rather spend my money on drone peripherals rather than tickets. Its an easy websearch and there are apps.Ill add more reviews as comments to this one as I learn more about it.TLDR SO MUCH FUN

DJI makes the BEST drones and drone electronics. Their drones are so precise, stable and easy to fly. I owned the original DJI Mini and upgraded to the Mini 2. Why for two reasons 1 4K Camera and 2 OcuSync 2.0 all in the same 249g weight. The Mini 2 takes amazing photos and videos at 4K. The OcuSync 2.0 gives it greater and more reliable range. I always recommend you getting the Fly More Combo because its a better value. If this is your first drone, Buy it If youre upgrading like me, buy it if you feel you want better photovideo and greater distance. Highly recommended.

Im reminded of a slogan, youve come a long way baby. My current drone is the Phantom 3 and the new Mini 2 is way way beyond that in just 45 short years. Its so tiny it fits in the palm of your hand. And lite too That low weight comes into play when you look at the FAA regulations. You wont need to register the drone because it falls under the 250g weight limit. Just because its tiny doesnt mean it cant fly though. I took it out in some windy conditions, probably 1520mph, and while it swayed a little while hovering, it was very responsive when flying and you wouldnt know by looking at the video it was that windy until you saw the trees rocking.Speaking of flying, the new Fly App was easy to use. You get a quick, interactive, guided tour of the interface when you go to fly the first time. You will actually be flying the Mini 2 within a couple of minutes as it has you take off, do a few quick maneuvers, and land. The app is so user friendly, you just push a button and the Mini 2 will take off and hover in front of you, and when its time to land, press the button again and it will return back to where you started and automatically land some caveats apply.Continuing on the flying aspect, the Mini 2 now connects to the controller via OccuSync 2.0. This means you can theoretically fly with a good connection for miles. The FAA requires you to maintain Line of Sight to the drone so you will have a hard time seeing it that far away but if you are flying within 12 mile you can easily see the drone and feel confident in the connection. That alone makes flying a dream.Once youve taken off, you can get beautiful 4k footage of your flight if you want to use the highest resolution. As the commercials say, and thats not all. You can actually zoom the camera Ya, zoom. You can zoom up to double when shooting in 4k. The video quality will suffer a little but if the light is good, its very useable. If you drop down into regular HD mode, 1920 x 1080, then you can zoom up to double and lose no resolution. Its crazy. And if you really need more zoom, you can go up to 4x in that HD mode. Just like the 4k zoom, once you go past 2x, you will start to lose video quality. If you like to shoot pictures as I do, the Mini 2 has you covered. It will shoot 12mp images that look really nice. Whats more, if you like to do your own customization on the images, it allows you to shoot in Raw mode to produce a DNG file. That was reserved for only Prolevel equipment last year. The Mini 2 has more than just a single picture mode. It will shoot HDR images by taking 3 differently exposed images in AEB mode you will need to combine them manually though. It takes panoramic images. A full 360degree images as well as a 180degree image. It shoots that in Raw mode also. You can grab the files from the SD Card and stitch them yourself.Youve undoubtedly seen some interesting footage over the years where the video circles an object, or shoots up in the sky. Quickshots mode handles all that camera and drone movement for you to get the same cool video.Lets talk about flying time. The Fly More Combo comes with 3 batteries and that cannot be understated at how important that is. Realistically you get about 2528 minutes of flight time per battery before you get into an area where you will need to land the craft safely. You wont believe how quickly those 25 minutes are. Having a couple of extra batteries allows you to fly for a long time and position yourself to get the shots you want without having to rush. You also get a 3 hub battery charger which makes charging the batteries very easy. It wont charge all 3 at once, unfortunately, but you wont have to worry that forgot to unplug one before charging the next.If the batteries arent enough in the Combo, it comes with a very cool carry case for the Mini 2, controller, batteries, and accessories. Again, youre going to buy a bag anyway so you might as well save money and get it in the Combo Pack. It also comes with a few sets of propellers. Eventually, they will need to be changed due to normal wear our you scraping it on something, and they are basically freebies in the Combo pack so again, why notIf youve been looking for a camera drone that is packed with highend features and a great price then the Mini 2 Fly More Combo is amazing.

I do pressure washing and always do before and after pictures. I do roofs and house washes as well. Using this to take before and after pictures has save me 1000s already in the past month. Customer tried to say I damaged a bunch of roof tiles after cleaning them and I showed the before pictures and after and that was the end of that conversation. She also stated I broke some soffit panels etc. Once again, the drone pictures saved me. Its small and light weight. Ultra portable. I couldnt be happier. I love this drone

The first thing you notice when you fire up the DJI Mini 2 is that its really quiet much more so than my Mavic Pro. The next thing I notices was that the Mini 2 flies really well. Even with 20 mph winds with gusts up to 30 no issues at all. It was responsive, with none of the jerkiness I expected from such a small drone in windy conditions. I was getting about 22 min. flight time before the low battery notice popped up, which is very good given the wind conditions. Max flight time is stated as 31 minutes. The range was great and I didnt have one issue with losing the connection or losing the image and I was flying well beyond line of sight. This little drone has a range of about 10 kilometers 6.2 miles and according to DJI should have no issues, with range about 2 mi even in poor RFI conditions. The image quality, particularly in good light is excellent. At lower light I was a bit disappointed, but it was still decent. You really wont be disappointed with image quality in most conditions. Its capable of 4K video at 30 frames per second. Photos are 12 MP, and the Mini comes with digital zoom. Digital zoom gives up a bit of quality compared to optical zoom, but it makes for the ability to take some interesting shots. It also stores images in RAW format, making it much easier to process with graphics programs.Unfortunately, I received the Mini during a week in which we had several storms coming in one right after another, with dark clouds and rainwind that kept me from getting better photos than the ones attached. The DJI mini 2 is very easy to fly, and its a great beginner drone that will still be useful even after you learn to fly well. Its actually a lot faster than you would think. Flying into the wind in sport mode resulted in speeds of 22 mph It doesnt come with all the bells and whistles that the more expensive models have just sensors on the bottom, and only a single auto follow mode, but for the market its intended for I dont think too many people will care. It certainly didnt impact the fun I had with it.Cinematics will take more time to conquer, but the DJI Mini 2 is so much fun to fly and the very good image quality means youll be taking films and photos with it for years. The controller is the same on the Mavic Pro 2 which is actually bigger than the drone itself. The entire setup fits in a small case and is easy to store and transport its about 13 the size of my Mavic Pro and its accessories. At 249 grams, not only is it easy to pack, but you dont have to register with the FAA and take a bunch of tests, which makes it much easier to get into arial photography.Theres so much more to talk about, but the bottom line is if youre a hobbyist looking to get into flying or want to try your hand at arial photographyfilming, I really feel you need look no further than the DJI Mini 2. Ive reviewed many products and many of them are very good, but never quite good enough for me to give them a 55 rating as perhaps there were a few negatives that kept them from getting there or the value just wasnt good enough. The DJI Mini 2 is one of the few exceptions. What little there is to complain about is more than made of for by its value, and the amount of fun youre sure to have with it.

Im surprised that DJI didnt add the obstacle avoidance onto the Mini 2. Maybe their next version will have this. My Mavic Air 2 with the obstacle avoidance has saved me more than once while hiking in the mountains. I could see the Mini 2 crashing in the same scenario. However if you are in an open area with no worries of hitting something this would be a great drone. The low light video has a little to be desired compared to the Air 2. All around the Air 2 is the best all around DJI drone with its options but the Mini 2 is a good backup if you dont want to spend the extra money to get one of the best drones with the Air 2 with more features.

Actually I was waiting for Mini 2 since I started looking as when Mavic Mini came out. I was sold on the 249g and the compact, light weight design, plus 4K as I need to add the drone to my existing Sony A7iii for my travel and hiking.Love the sharpness and vivid color of the video in 4K and the Fly App that you can edit your videos from the phone it is professional grade editing software that you can produce the quick video on the fly.I am happy with the purchase of Mini 2, way better than my expectation and very intuitive control even as my first drone ever. Need any chance to fly more and get use to controlling the drone to get all 4K footages instead of using builtin dronie, circle,….I am looking to purchase one additional battery and that will be suffice. The fly more combo is good price but I dont have the use of the case wont fit in my camera bag together with my Sony since I bought just the case and the strap for the drone only the controller is ok the way it is.

I purchased this DJI to replace the DJI Mini, and the first thing I really appreciated was less waste on the packaging for the Fly more combo. Everything came in the nice camera style bag. This is a great drone for anyone that has some experience with flying. The DJI Mini 2, like the first mini, does not have any obstacle avoidance except the bottom sensors. But the camera is my favorite upgrade with he additional camera features and additional flight time. I would only suggest that you buy the FlyMore combo. Gives you the best experience when your out wanting to fly this drone.

This is a major upgrade over the Mavic mini. This does 4K video, occusync 2, slightly stronger props and motors. You should not have any problems flying VLOS visual line of sight. FAA mandates even unregistered drones stay VLOS. Best drone I know of for portability with decent quality. This drone has no obstacle avoidance, which is not that bad as you are supposed keep in your sight. Fairly easy to learn to fly. Recommend you joining DJI forum to see known issues, helpful hints, things to watch out for, etc.

It is definitely a awesome product. It is easy to fly and very stable even in wind, it has a really good camera, the reception is great as long as you dont fly it really low and get too many objects between you and the controller. I wish it was waterproof though and I wish it would last longer on a single charge. I also wish that there was a screen built into the controller I dont like that you have to use your phone to operate it. This is the second one I bought the first one lost signal, tried to return to home, hit a small tree branch and went into a pool and ruined it so be mindful of that.

DJI Mini 2 delivers what you probably expect from an expensive 34 pound drone in a very small form factor just a bit over half a pound. The stability of the gimbal and therefore the videos are stunning. No vibration is introduced to your videos even when the drone is moving in high altitudes. The 4K video is truly stunning. The level of details it provides makes shooting video so fun. I have a 64GB microSD on the drone that allows me to easily manage the heavy video files and pictures. The learning curve is quite manageable. The drive doesnt need you to do much for take off and landing which is normally the hard parts of the navigation

This is my first drone and I didnt need all of the bells and whistles that are on 1000 drones but gives far more flexibility than drones costing less than 400.With all of the new rules coming from the FAA regarding drones and hobbyists I really didnt want to get to involved with licensing and I dont plan on commercializing my drone and if I do I would definitely get the drone pilot license. So far Im very happy with flight times and the syncing technology is very reliable. And if you have a spare phone thats not being used use that with remote. The size is what drew me to the DJI mini 2 and Ive been following DJI drones since 2016. I fell in love with the mini but glad I waited for the mini 2. Camera is better, remote is easier and the syncing technology is far better giving theoretical distances of up to 6 miles per YouTube user reviews.Really glad I purchased this and have already invested in extra batteries for more flight time. I have captured numerous beautiful sunsets in Wisconsin.

This is a great drone. I have the mavic 2 pro and zoom As well which you cant beat. However this little guy sure tries. Camera is not quite as good s my pro or zoom but sure does a nice job for the price. Lack of obstacle avoidance could be an issue for some. I never use it on either one of my big mavics so its not an issue. Battery life is decent around 20 minutes real world. This is about the going rate for battery estimates by dji. I could see a half hour maybe if you where very ginger on the sticks on a calm day. The 249 gram weight is nice to avoid registration abs licensing well actually weighs less than that around 239grams. Could see a platinum edition rolling out with an extra 10grams of hardware in the future. Its batteries backwards compatible with the original mini batteries however these will put your weight over the 249grams making the need for registration and licensing a problem. You do save ten bucks a battery or so with this route but youve been warned. Happy flying

Pics and videos good quality. Best option for pics is both JPG and DNA that will work in older software. Has many flight options. Not difficult to fly, smooth control response. Controller can charge your cell phone battery while flying. This drone has more particle features too many to mention here. TheDJI Mini 2 Fly More Combo is the way to go. Designed, in my opinion, for the serious hobbyist and beginning pro. Again not a toy

Im giving this product a 5 star rating because of all the improvements DJI has put into a small package. I started with the DJI Phantom Standard, and later on purchased the Mavic Pro 2. Although I still own both machines, I wanted something smaller and less Menacing that still is of great quality with excellent photography They say its a beginner product, but let me tell you the best way to describe it is the sports edition that can go places that my larger drones cant. Great drone for the money, it is an excellent machine. Glad I was able to add it to my collection.

Ok, I dont call this a drone… to me it is known as either a UAV or even better flying camera platform. This is a great camera platform If you are serious about aerial photography or videography this is the one to start with I did purchase the B H bundle. My first flight I shot 1080p video, the 4x zoom is off the charts in quality I was really surprised. The UAV handling is very strong, if you have it hover even in a wind the platform holds to its spot. Its quite the thing to watch as the platform holds position hands free, it may move from sidetoside. Watching the video in your phone showing a steady shot even though the platform may move to hold position is really nice. I did not except such handling and quality another great surprise. The only issue I had was loading the upgrade and firmware, I was not sure if either loaded so I did it a second time, then it stated that the firmware and upgrade were loaded. If I can suggest, purchase the DJI Care it just gives that much needed piece of mind… in case something goes wrong.Im looking forward to getting my chops with this aircraft.

Best drone for the price. Even better than some of the more expensive drones. This is compact which is nice to take with you anywhere the gimbal is amazing. The videos and photos are high quality. It performs great on windy days but does use more of the battery. Many adjustable settings on the DJI Fly app. If youre looking for a drone to start with or for business, this is absolutely the one to get because it shoots great videos and photos for the price which you cant beat.

Initially, I thought setup might be a little complicated but I was wrong. I charged the batteries, downloaded the app and, was in the air albeit in my basement in short order. The drone is responsive and, once taken outside, accurate and easy to fly. It might take me a while to master all the modes and variations but the first flight with video was easy. I did get a warning about the microSD card being slow. I thought it was a good, fast card but it is not quite up to the task. A new card quality topoftheline 128 meg card is on order. A puff of side wind will rock the drone a little faster than the gimbal can compensate but, after all, this is a mini. Overall it is very steady. The video quality is amazingly good.

This thing is amazing The drone couldnt be easier to fly I literally had zero experience prior to buying this although I had seen friends wrestle with their drones in the past made me think it wasnt an activity for me… was I ever wrong. The camera modes are amazing and pretty easy to use. If you have some skill with a camera and I dont it looks like you can really lift up the hood and customize your setting or if you just want the equivalent of point and shoot you can do that too Also definitely go for the Fly More combo as it sets you up with everything youll need. Final advice get the DJI insurance that they offer for 50 its great peace of mind for the new flyer

This is hands down my favorite drone Ive ever used DJI continues to hit it out of the park with their entire product line. Every time I come across one of their products, I never cease to be amazed, and then they come out with something new raising the bar even further. The first thing youll love about this drone is the sheer portability and compact size of this entire package, especially with the fly more combo including the extra batteries and accessories. The bag everything comes in is a nice material, has a good amount of padding, and organizes everything perfectly. The overall drone weight is amazingly light and comes in just under the FAA requirement for drone registration for hobbyist fliers, meaning you can get flying that much faster.Once youre done getting over how small and compact this drone is, the next step is to unpack everything and start getting ready to fly. Everything is labeled well to ease the process of getting started, and although I was worried about the drone being too fragile as I was unfolding it the first time, you wont have anything to worry about. Even though the drone is small and compact, its extremely stout. I may or may not have crashed it a few times while getting a little carried away indoors, it didnt phase the drone at all. It took right back off without issue.Once you get the drone unfolded, and slap a battery in there, pairing the remote and drone together happens seamlessly, and youre greeted with some getting started introduction video clips right in the DJI Fly app. After a brief minute of video clips, youre ready to fly and can just tap the Auto Takeoff button and launch the drone with zero effort. I did notice I had to calibrate the compass on the drone one time when I was attempting to launch too close to some metal objects, but the process was very easy and the app guided me the entire way. If youre flying outdoors with open space and a clear GPS signal, the ReturntoHome function works very well, but I tend to favor manual control of where the drone comes back and have the option to move the landing point.Ive been very impressed with the video and camera quality of this device, especially when shooting in challenging lighting conditions. Depending on what kind of video youre shooting, I found myself switching between 4K 30fps, or if I needed the extra framerate, switching to 1080p 60 fps. With 1080p, you also have the ability to run up to 4X zoom 2x lossless zoom, 2x lossy zoom which is handy for those critical shots where you cant fly quite that close to something. It does appear the Quick Shots are limited to 1080p I couldnt find a way to change it, but are a great feature to use for those quick professional looking shots, especially if youre a little newer to the drone scene. The only con I noticed in my experience related to the mount size for the phone on the controller. I just upgraded to the latest iPhone 12 Pro Max, and with a case, you are absolutely, fully extended and praying the controller holds on to your phone. If I take the phone out of the case, its a much more solid mount, but the grab points still feel a little odd since they changed the shape of the edge of the latest phone and the gripping points appear to be for a rounded phone and not a square edge phone. Absolutely not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of, you may find yourself constantly removing your phone from its case to fly.Overall, if youre looking to jump in the drone scene, need an ultra portable drone with great quality, or just need a compact drone for those occasional shots, you wont be disappointed in grabbing a Mini 2 This drone doesnt cease to impress and Im finding myself wanting to utilize it to grab more shots than I would have relied on a drone to do before, simply because of how simple, easy, and reliable the Mini 2 is.

Had a gopro karma drone. Was fun and had great camera but as of Jan 01 2021 it will no longer link to GPS and therefore, it wont allow me to take off. Was never really reliable anyways and I didnt have much air time because of connection issues Really wanted another drone to have fun flying with my kids. Was thinking mavic air 2 but then discovered, I would need a license to fly. I picked up the mini 2 as I dont need a license due to the weight. I also got the fly more combo includes 3 batteries, one drone, one control, 2 sets of joysticks for control and small screwdriver. Also has high speed charge cable and wall plug, 3 bay battery charging dock and soft case to fit everything. I like fact the drone can fit one jacket pocket and control in the other. Was surprised how small the unit is approximately size of my note 10 in length and width. Drone was a bit difficult to connect the first time but after watching a YouTube video it was no problem. I did have a firmware update and thats probably why first attempts wouldnt allow drone to connect. Its powerful and fast but much quieter then my karma. Easy to control. Definitely glad i puchased. I still may get my uavdrone license and upgrade to the air 2 but this little guy is tons of fun to fly.

From a Phantom 3 SE, to the Spark and now the Mini 2. I debated between the Mavic Air 2 and the Mini 2. I just couldnt constitute the price difference for the very slight difference of 4k at 60FPS vs 30 and the front obstacle avoidance sensors. The Mini 2 is worth the price for the 4k video and Ocusync 2.0 alone. Never mind the more powerful motors. Im glad I waited. Id be kicking myself if I had bought the Mavic Mini. DJI really took all the mistakes made with the Mavic Mini and corrected them and upgraded with the Mini 2. Highly recommended for someone starting to fly, or even a more advanced pilot.

This little guy has taken my drone shots to the next level.I started with a tiny drone then graduated to the Phantom 3 and now the mini 2 took its place. As much as I loved shooting with the Phantom 3, it was a pain to setup the propellers every time and the connectivity sometimes was spotty when using it in remote areas. It was also too bulky and distracting when filming certain events. The mini 2 is able to provide great shots and isnt as distracting, loud, or big and you can get it up in the air in seconds.I love having the zoom option as its given me some of the best dolly zoom Ive ever shot.I tried to use it mostly manual but the little trick shot options are cool to have and have gotten me a couple of beautiful shots when I needed one with seconds to prepare.Id highly recommend this little drone as it packs a bigger punch than imagined based on its size.

I had bought other drones but never had one that was so connected as the DJI Mini 2. The drone setup was simple and very straight forward. DJI provided video examples for you within the DJI App, in the upper right hand corner, under Academy. No surprises, it takes you to just about anything you could ask for. There seem to be a hundred or more videos, just about for every topic. Everything worked like clockwork and the drone flies great. Buying the Fly More Combo to me, was less expensive than trying to add batteries and extra supplies later plus adds a nice case that fits everything. Im happy.

First of all I am a recreational flyer. This is my second DJI drone, I also have a Mavic Air 2. I think the Mini 2 is a great little drone and find myself using it way more than my Mavic Air 2 mostly because of its size. Everything I need, except for my phone, fits nicely into the carry bag it comes with and it can easily be hand launched and landed, no need to take along a landing pad. So I fine myself taking this little guy with me most of the time whether I plan to use it or not. The Mini 2 takes great pictures and video. If the Mini 2 had been available when I purchased the Air 2 I may not own the Mavic Air 2 today, thats how much I like this little guy.

I have owned the DJI Phantom 4 for a little over 4 years as my first drone. Its been great and was easy to learn how to fly and I had no reason to use any other drone… until NOW Oh my goodness this Mini 2 is truly the mini me to the Phantom 4 without sacrificing anything plus it has many improvements and is only a fraction of the size. see the picture of it in my hand. The first day I flew it I was nervous because we had 20mph winds. Could this little device fly in winds that strong Ha, the drone basically laughed at that wind and wasnt even phased. I never even received a warning to fly with caution in that wind. AmazingThe first thing I tried out was the panoramic camera. I had no idea it would be so easy, but the drone basically went on auto pilot sitting in place turning to take about 20 pictures to piece together into one panoramic shot. See pictures attached of our two ponds, and then a panoramic that gets both of them in the same picture. So to me this drone is really a no brainer for anyone whether they are a pro or a beginner. This mini drone does everything its predecessors do, plus it comes with 3 batteries that last 30 minutes each, 3 sets of replacement blades, and cords to connect to any type of phone you want to use. Last but not least it comes with a bag that is smaller than a purse to carry all of this stuff that comes with itI could go on and on about this drone, its truly amazing how much DJI has advanced technology to bring us all this power in such a small device. Get one and enjoy

Im a novice drone pilot. I considered this model and the Air 2s. If I had the extra cash, I would have gone with the Air 2s, but there is nothing wrong with the Mini 2. Probably the most attractive feature of the Mini 2 is that you dont have to register it to fly in the US. I can just go to the back yard or to a friends house and put it in the air.Ive only had it a week as of this time, so I only have about an hour of flight time total. The batteries seem to last about 1820 mins of flight time before Im in the red on the app. At this point, I believe I made the right choice going with the Mini 2 and the Fly More Combo.

Ive had several other cheap drones before purchasing this one and they were all horrible. This DJI Mini 2 is just amazing Great for beginners and experts alike it is very easy to setup and operate. The controls are easy to use yet with precise movement. Was happy to find that the remote controller accommodated my larger Note 9 phone with the case on. Included cords allow for connection to my iPhone as well. Stunning video even at night Ive added a few night shots, Ill add some day when i return from vacation. The Fly More kit is just a must have with the extra batteries and propellers youve got plenty of time in the sky.

Previously i owned dji mavic air and dji mavic mini. This drone cleared up all disadvantages off this two drone model. It has almost 30 minutes flight time and 4k video quality , raw photo capabilities. I sent 5km away on the sea this drone and there was no image interruption which is perfect. Only bad thing on this drone is , it doesnt have enough sensor to avoid crashes and the other this is following mode is not available. You can solve follow mode and other quick shooting capabilities with third party applications. Sum of all it is quite perfect.

Have had it for a little over 3 months and can definitely say overall it is a great product. It is user friendly and very responsive. The quickshot ability works incredibly smooth. So far, highest altitude flown is 300 ft. but Im confident it can easily surpass that altitude without issues. However, control does lose signal after 1 mile of horizontal distance whenever inside the city. Wish they could come up with a stronger antenna, at this price range. On the bright side, all three times I lost signal, my mini 2 did not drop and instead hovered before returning home.

This was an anniversary gift to my husband. He absolutely loves it. The video is simply amazing. Weve thoroughly enjoyed flying it and exploring our neighborhood in a whole new way. The landing ability is so much easier…just press come home. Thankfully, it held strong when a hawk tried to knock it down. I guess the bird didnt like us looking in hisher nest. This is a great gift for anyone that wants something a little more than just the beginner drone. Totally worth the price.

The fly more package works well for me. The kit is compact and of couse light weight. Im flying it at altitudes over 6K feet and in the cold as well. Flight time is reduced, but not by much. In flight video is a little more prown to moves that are not as smooth as you would get with a larger drone, but the .DNG .jpg files edit very well and wifi downloads a easy as well. Is easy to loose sight of it as its small and less noisy thanks for the excellent HOME return.Great 180 pano steady lowlight still pics.

After seeing a friend fly his Mini 2 around, I saw how reasonable the price was and ordered it with the Fly More combo. Its fantastic, has helped me put the world around me into new perspective. Controls couldnt be easier. Ive used it as a tool to check things out on my house that would otherwise require a ladder and nerves of steel, but Ive also used it to explore the great outdoors and see how far I can go. Worth every penny. Only complaint I have is that the main DJI app isnt available in the Android app store, so if a mobile device is locked down for work as mine is I need to resort to using an old phone as I cannot install an unsigned application.

This is my first real Drone i have had other hobby store drone that take a lot of practice to fly and dont always work. DJI Mini 2 is a great drone for first time buyers of a real drone this is easy to fly easy to use and control. The combo kit comes with bag, extra propellers 3 batteries charger extra phone plugs and yes a great remote. This also has a strap to to make sure your propellers are strapped down and secure so you dont brake them. It has a camera cover that you use to store it because the camera is loose moving. You charge you phone with the battery charger or the remote by using the extra batteries in it. But if you want to be out flying all day make sure you are already charged up.Fly this drone is super easy and i felt like i have been flying it for months after the 1st flight. The DJI APP is really helpful in getting you started and understanding the functions of the drone. It will take you a preflight check before you take off and let you know the GPS location is set for home. take off is as easy as hitting the button and so is landing. You have 3 fly mode Sport witch is very fast 30mph plus you videos will come out a little unstable but going that fast you cant always keep control of it. Then you have normal that flys at 20mph plus more control and better video. Then you have Cinema that flys at 10mph or slower easy to control and the best way to take a video or photos. The 4k camera is awesome where can you get 2 things for 1 price a great drone and a 4kK camera all in one. The battery life for each battery is 31min long the drone will let you know when its time to land. I did find out that you you leave it off the charger the batteries dont hold a great amount of charge time. So if your going to fly make sure you have a fresh charge so you get the most out of the time using it . I took some day photos and night ones to i posted them on my review I didnt get to go all the way into the settings and play with everything because there is so much you want to try. There is a follow mode and a mode that will video you while it circle you . It does panoramic pictures all you do his tap the button and it will do the rest.I am looking forward to taking this on my next vacation as we like to go hiking and biking the photos will be amazing to share along with the 4K video. This is small but has big features.I wanted to do more with it but we have had a very windy week 15 to 40mph winds so it gave me a wind warning when i had it up to high i didnt want to take a risk of a gust of wind taking it to far away.My wife is also looking forward to using this as she has never flown a drone before. Im sure she will get the hang of it fast.

caveat ive never flown a drone before.this drone is surprisingly easy to fly. its responsive and stable. i was able to fly within just a few minutes of getting the drone into the air. the images it provides are top notch, and as someone who has been doing photography for over 30 years, i really appreciate the level of exposure control provided by the software. all camera settings can be changed during flight.the controller feels comfortable in your hands, and it securely holds my iPhone 8. it also comes with cables to attach to usbc and micro usb devices to the remote.youll defo want the fly more combo. two extra batteries and a charger for all 3 are included, which gives you much more flight time. extra propellors, a screwdriver, extra thumb controllers, and a carrying case roomy enough to fit the whole kit and caboodle round out the combo package. the external battery charger also has an out port on it, so it can also be used to charge other devices. clever.altitude and distance measurements are easy to see without getting in the way of the camera view and settings. the remaining flight time counter is very handy, too. and makes you glad you sprung for the combo pack. the return to home rth feature is very useful. however, keep in mind that there are no forward or side sensors to prevent flying into objects. when the feature is activated, the drone will return to the rth altitude a setting you control, and will make a beeline back the starting point, then land itself. if there is any object taller than the rth altitude that is directly in the flight path, it will fly straight into it. that said, you still have the ability to provide directional input to avoid any objects during rth. you can also press the pause button and the drone will stop immediately, and almost exactly in place where it will hover at its current height and await future commands. the pause command can also be used during the preprogrammed flight modes.welcome to the world of aerial photography. have fun

This drone is perfect for beginners and even some advanced enthusiasts. This drone is very stable even in breezy conditions, it is very simple to operate. It has lots of settings that can be adjusted as well as some really good safety features. The camera is fantastic, however picture quality does suffer in low light, it is also worth noting that it does suffer from sun glare so I would recommend buying a gimbal hood to reduce the glare. Fantastic product for the money highly recommended getting this if it is your first drone but I would recommend reading over the manual and even watching some YouTube videos before taking it for the first time.

Having gone from the DJI Phantom 1 to the DJI Mavic Pro and now the DJI Mini 2, I could not be more pleased with this mini unit.I has all the familiar controls of the previous line, but it is also easy for a newbie to launch and to merely press a button to have it return to home and land itself. What stands out with this unit is 1 the small size, 2 the great 4K resolution, 3 the battery run time, 4 convenience of the battery charge pack, and 5 the overall feature set.I also love that the Fly More pack has everything that I needI particularly like the Cine mode that is used for smooth cinematic filming. I tend not to fly the drone far away, so Ive not made much use of the Sport mode but I am using Normal mode to fly the drone to where I want to film before I flip it to Cine mode for filming. The mechanism on the controller that grasps my phone holds the phone firmly and the short cable used to tether the controller to the phone is conveniently tucked away inside the controller after use. Like my prior drone, I have to remove my phone from its case to set it into the controller for use.I love everything about this unit. It is small, but it packs a fullfeatured punch. Convenient size. Great resolution. Loads of features.Highly recommend…

Summary The DJI Mini 2 is a fantastic drone that is easy to fly, nimble, and packed with cool features. Although it only weighs 249g, the Mini 2 does an admirable job holding its position in windy conditions and taking crisp footage. The addition of OcuSync 2.0, which vastly improves the video transmission distance, cant be praised enough. At 599.99 for the Fly More combo, the value proposition is strong and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.ProsSuper light and compact no need for FAA registration.Very nimble responsive flyer.Stable under windy conditions.OcuSync 2.0 great flight range.Long battery life for such a compact drone.Ergonomic and thoughtful controller with timesaving features builtin.1080p, 2K, and 4K footages all look great thanks to the smooth 3axis gimbal.Max video bitrate is now 100Mbps versus 1st gens 40Mbps.Can shoot in both JPEG and RAW.Comes with a nice carrying case 3bay charging dock. The twoway charging hub can charge both the batteries and the remote controller.NeutralNo Follow Me mode or active tracking. No obstacle avoidance. The carrying handle is on the side and not on top of the carrying case.ConsNo microSD card included. Design, Build Quality, and Whats Inside the Package For a drone that costs 450 600 for the Fly More combo, Im quite happy and satisfied with the overall look, build quality, and fitandfinish of the Mini 2. The Mini 2 is heavily plastic and some portions, such as the battery cover, stands out by feeling a bit cheap compared to the rest of the drone. Im not bothered by it, though, because the battery cover snaps on securely, and by going with a light plastic construction, DJI managed to keep the weight under the FAAs registration threshold 250g0.55 pounds. I would be very careful, however, not to crash the Mini 2 as the light plastic components probably wont survive any major impacts. As for the fitandfinish, all the moving parts of the Mini 2 actuated smoothly and it was a frustrationfree affair when handling it, such as the folding and unfolding process. I love the holddown strap for the propellers which prevent them from moving around inside the case as well as the perfectfitting and wellaligned gimbal protection cover that doesnt require any angle adjustments nor too much strength to pop in and pop out. The same can be said for the insertion and removal process of the battery the battery makes a satisfying click sound when inserted and it pulls out smoothly. I love I can remove the battery even when the Mini 2 is all folded up and wrapped with the propeller guard strap.Im a big fan of the design and layout of the remote controller. The springloaded phone holder easily accommodated my oversized phone, a Samsung Galaxy S20, and the USBC cord was long enough to plug in with some slack. There is a recessed compartment on top of the controller to stow the USBC cable, which is a brilliant use of space, and the thumbscrews for the joysticks fit snugly and safely into the cutouts on the bottom of the controller. My Fly More combo package came with a threebay, twoway charging hub and its great. It has a USBC input for charging the three batteries sequentially, as well as a USBA output that can connect to the remote controller. The hub doesnt charge all the batteries and the remote at the same time the batteries get charged first in a sequential manner left to right, then the controller is the last piece to get its turn. The carrying case is pretty decent. Its padding is wholly adequate, outside and inside, and all the Fly More package components can fit inside comfortably with some space to spare. My only gripe about the case is the location of the carrying handle instead of being on the side, I wish it were on the top. On the topic of gripes, there are two more, albeit small ones. First, I wish DJI had also included some propeller guards into the Fly More combo, as well as a microSD card. With all that said, its my opinion the DJI Mini 2 Fly More combo is a great package that offers strong value. You get almost everything you need to start flying right away without the registration headache, and the Mini 2 is a wellbuilt and very capable drone thats wellequip to capture stunning 4K videos and photos with a long flight time and great flight distance. Whats it like to fly the Mini 2 I cut my teeth on drone piloting via the Autel Evo drone 1,050 on Best Buy for the past two years and I have to give props to DJI for creating such a nimble, agile, and easytomaneuver compact drone. Out of the box, all the gimbal settings pitch, yaw were tuned perfectly for my flying style, and it was a lot of fun flying the Mini 2 everywhere I took it to, such as around my neighborhood, class 1 bike trails, and parks. At first setup, youre required to view three short video clips from the New User Guide within the DJI Fly app Finding the Best Place to Fly, Preparing to Fly, and Flying the Aircraft. After going through the quick registration or login process, then youre ready to go right after the drone locks in a GPS signal, which usually took about 1520 seconds for me.Launching the drone couldnt be any easier. All you have to do is tap and hold on the Auto Takeoff icon and the Mini 2 will fly up a few feet into the air and steadily hold its position and await your command. Using the wellweighted and finelytuned joysticks, the Mini 2 moves about precisely, accurately, and predictably very important because there is no obstacle avoidance builtin. The gimbal angle adjustment is done via the shoulder switch located on the upperleft corner of the controller and it, too, was wellcalibrated out of the box. The shoulder button on the upperright hand corner is used to take photos and capture videos and it reacted quickly with a satisfying click and feel. The Mini 2 is rated for a 31minute flight time but thats only when there is no wind and a traveling speed of 10.5mph 4.7ms. My average flight speed was 20mph most of the time and I got the low battery warning after about 20 minutes, which is still very good for such a tiny and light drone. If you activate Sport Mode and push the Mini 2 to its maximum speed of 35mph 16ms, then expect an even shorter flight time. When youre done flying the Mini 2, there are two ways you can bring it back tap and hold the ReturntoHome RTH icon, or fly it back manually. I prefer the latter option as RTH wasnt always precise. When out in wideopen spaces, RTH was mostly accurate and missed the mark only a few times. But in more cramped spaces, like my backyard, the Mini 2 became confused and tried to land on my roof instead of the ground, which was disconcerting.Distancewise, I got the Mini 2 to travel about 1,100 feet away in a dense residential area before the signal began breaking up.To sum it up, the Mini 2 is an absolute pleasure to fly thanks to the smart tuning and calibration outofthebox. Its just a shame that DJI didnt include active tracking or a front obstacle avoidance system, probably to hit that 249g weight target. Video Photo Quality The Mini 2, with its 12.3 CMOS sensor and 12MP effective pixels, did an admirable job capturing greatlooking 4K, 2K, and 1080p videos as well as photos. Compared to my Autel Evo 4K drone, which has a 12.8 sensor and max capture rate of 4K60fps at 100Mbps, the Mini 2 held its own ground and produced footage that often came out better looking with more realistic colors and superior autoexposure. The only advantage the Autel Evo has over the Mini 2 is smoother footage during gimbal and drone rotations thanks to its higher 60fps rate, an impressive feat since the Mini 2 costs 133 less than the Evo as of 11162020.Here is a short clip taken with the Mini 2 at 4K30fps with all the settings on autohttpsdrive.google.comfiled1XIcpieS36u0FWdOT3Qp8NEjDuRu55UKWviewuspsharingI use zoom quite often when flying and it was nice to have several options at my disposal. At 4K, you get up to a 2x zoom at 2K its 3x and at 1080p, its up to 4x. Naturally, the more you zoom in, some fine details become lost, especially when there isnt enough lighting. With good lighting, though, you can focus on your subject and get some excellent details out of it.If youd rather prefer the Mini 2 to perform some trick shots while you keep your hands free, then youre all set because there are several nifty modes, such as Dronie, Helix, Rocket, Circle, and Boomerang. The phototaking ability of the Mini 2 was quite satisfactory as well. I found myself using all three modes quite often Wide, 180degree, and Sphere and they were easy enough to process and export using the Microsoft Image Composite Editor ICE desktop app. Thanks to the march of technology, its amazing how many cool features can now be crammed inside a small and compact drone that is so light and portable. I think the vast majority of people interested in drone cinematography will be very happy with the Mini 2. Is it a good buy I absolutely think so. DJI has pulled off an excellent engineering feat by implementing many meaningful useful upgrades over the original Mavic Mini and created a force to be reckoned with.

Honestly this is an awesome drone. the handling and control is amazing and smooth, specially Cine mode for beginner. The transferring file from drone to phone or PC is easy but not so fast. I strongly recommend to buy the combo version , you need all three batteries for your clip. I tried it in a snow and rain and it works perfect. By the way be careful of wind speed. quality of video is stunning , but I still prefer my camera for a serious landscape photography.

I have never flown a drone before, but I thought it would be nice to have one after seeing all the photos and videos that can be taken and thought what the heck. After looking at other reviews and pictures that totally did it for me. The flying took a little to get used to, but with more flying time I think it will be a able to fly it would steadier on the turns, without stopping and turning and such. I went with this package because I knew being a beginner I was going to go through some propellers and some crashes. Overall, I think its well worth its price, Flight time is right on track with the 30 minute time limit per battery. I give it a 5 mostly based on price and the extras that come with it. The picture quality is amazing and I think its a great purchase for anyone just getting into flying drones. I dont have any pictures to share, I want to get used to flying and all before I start taking video and pictures with it.

Im definitely a beginner in the world of drones, having owned a few cheap ones that were basically toys. This is not a toy on any level Im blown away at the sophistication and technology wrapped up in such a small device. The quality of the images is awesome and it is fairly easy to fly. The only thing I wish it had was Follow Me mode, but otherwise, it is awesome. The Combo is totally worth it just for the batteries, but the spare parts and case are really nice to have as well. Rated ease of use as Average not as a criticism of the DJI Mini 2, but as a heads up that you have to invest some time learning about it and practicing your flying to really get the most out of it.

Bought a DJI Mavic Mini Dec. 27 2020. After 3 days numerous tries it was Impossible to link the RC to the AC . Also each battery would get extremely hot . The drone would not start . Beginning to think Best Buy sold me a dud . 620.00 for a piece of plastic junk. So frustrated that I took my 21 ounce Estwing to it . Put it out of its misery. Waste of hard earned money time . Strange thing 5 years ago bought the same drone at the same store the exact same issues. Tossed it in the garbage truck on its rounds . 124O.00 down the drain. So no doubt I was sold junk. Will never ever buy a DJI Mavic drone again. Perhaps with 5 more years of saving up I may be able to buy another drone but most definitely a different brand .

Awesome Drone. Love the new controller vs. The one for the original Mini and the one for my Pro2. So far really enjoying this Drone. Only bad mark is that I bought 2 and one had a small cover fall off the gimbal. It came loose and jammed the gimbal. Then fell off. No hard landings or anything rough. Looks like a tab was broken during assembly. Will have to return that one and exchange it for a new one. Other than that small issue, these Drones are amazing Very precise flying and so light and agile. Pics and video are amazing also.

Ill start by noting I recieved this drone in return of my honest unbiased review. 1st off this drone is very compact even with all its accessories and carrying case, definitely feels less than 2lbs for everything. Before its first flight there was a firmware update, which I completed before taking it on its maiden flight. This little drone has so many nice built in features in its smaller price point, its not even funny. Like its Auto Takeoff Ruturn To Home. The auto takeoff feature is plain and simple, just hold the auto takeoff button on your connected smartphone or tablet and the drone takes off the ground and awaits your command at roughly 3 ft.The RTH return to home feature came in handy on the very first flight of the mini 2. I was around 34 a mile away with the drone and it lost connection to the controllervideo feed was lost, thankfully after hitting the RTH button on my screen the drone surprisingly returned right back to where I took it off from exactly. The in app flight tutorial runs you through all the 1st time pre flight check items to make sure you went through the settings and are fully ready to fly for the first time. I really like that its Policy Friendly, since its smaller and lighter you dont need to register it or take training classes to fly the mini 2. Although its good to watch a few videos before taking it on its first flight. The 4k video resolution is great, details look amazing and the color looks just as good, everything just pops and look so life like. Its nice to be able to record video in 4K at 30 for. Also taking pictures with the drone is so easy and theres so many options its breathtaking. You can manually snap a picture or setup in the fly app to take a picture every so many seconds or minutes, its very nice to have those options. I was also able to switch between video and pictures during flight by allowing the drone to hover. The built in 4x zoom while recording is a nice feature to have at this lower price point As well. I was pleasantly overwhelmed with all the features this drone has for its price point. Ive owned other much less expensive drones, and none have come in the same ballpark as this mini 2. It really is a incredible piece of technology I only wish I would of bought one sooner. This is so much fun to fly and take video.

I have been flying a 3DR Solo drone for 5 years and I just picked this new DJI mini 2 drone 2 weeks ago. I have to say I am very impressed Super agile and quiet. While it does not offer all the preprogrammed flights or customizable flights I could use on my older drone, it makes up for it with 4K video and improvements in camera shots. I just tried out the 360 panorama photo and it worked great and I love the AEB 3 bracketed DNG files I can get automatically with a single button push. The video stabilization when you are in Cine mode is rock solid. Start up is simple and very quick as well. Im looking forward to future flights

I used to have the Phantom 4, but it was very expensive to repair. I was looking for a comparable drone that was close to the Phantom 4 features. After researching multiple drones, and wanting to stick with the DJI brand, I chose the new Mini 2. This drone is very compact, and had most of the features of my previous drone. I have been very happy with the choice I made, due to the 12 mp pictures and 4K video. I thought this being so small that it wouldnt fly stable in high winds, however it is rated for level 5 just like the more expensive drones, and flys very stable in windy conditions. The only drawback is not having the forward and top collision sensors, which is available in the Air 2. It is definitely worth the price to purchase the fly more combo, I have not needed to purchase any additional components.

This Mavic Mini 2 is not only a great beginner drone, but has excelled in function from the previous one I am constantly amazed what this little drone can do. The connection is much stronger than before, I have reached 650ft in height and 3 miles in distant with no problems whatsoever I use mine with an iPhone 11 Pro Max. I have quite a few DJI drones. High end stuff. I really did not need the mini, but I bought the mini 1. while very cool, the Mini 2 kills itDont bother with the 1, go for the 2.what drone out there can you get this stable, shoot 4k , and have occusync for this priceI actually like flying it better than my larger drones. Its a blast so portable, and way less expensive.DJI used to feel expensive to me, until i realized how fully baked the product is. Super easy to use, and VERY reliable. I fly for work quite a bit, and have yet on any DJI product to have any issues. I have NEVER crashed DJI either, with thousands of logged KMs to date.I would recommend the DJI Mini 2 to any first time flyers.

This tiny drone inherited many of the best DJI characteristics from its it bigger brothers and how they included them in this ultralight drone is unbelievable. Anyone adults mostly with thumbs and a phone will be able to fly this drone and get beautiful video and pictures of whatever they point the drone at. You get rock solid stability in moderate winds. An almost 30 minute flight per charge. OccuSync to keep the drone and controller connected for nearly 6 miles of distance 4K30fps video recording and zoom up to 4x. And they still include a few quickshot camera tricks to help you out till you learn to fly them yourself Circle is my favorite. Draw a box on your phone and the item in the box will get an ultra smooth drone camera shot that will go completely around the object and stop once a full 360 shot is done. And for those who may not be ready for the price or size of the bigger DJI drones. This drones weight of 249 grams avoids the need for FAA registration. You will still be warned about not flying close to restricted zones like prisons, airports, and other government places you shouldnt be flying near anyways. And if you are new to drones, it includes built in tutorials to get you flying and filming or taking pictures in just a minute or two. Just follow the screen prompts. Once you finish the tutorial. You always have an easy one button launch to get in the air and one button to land or return to home which will land in nearly the exact spot you started from. Now that I have flown this drone for nearly a week that had less than stellar weather here in eastern Ohio in midNovember. Clouds, high winds, raindont fly in rain, below 40F temps. It was challenging to get air time and record footage. But, when I get a new toy, I WANT TO PLAY So, I can only upload pictures not video and they might not be the best pictures based on experts rules for taking pics. But Im proud of how easy these are to take and not lose the drone to errors or weather. This drone is simply amazing Its literally a hummingbird with a camera that always comes home when you tell it to.And because you will want as much air time as possible. Highly recommend the fly more combo. 3 batteries and charger with cord and power brick, a very nice weather resistant bag, and prop guard craddle to keep the blades safe from bendingbreaking. One more thing to mention. I own a few drones now, big and small. This is my second DJI and the level of detail in this drone package is second to none The origami of this folding drone is perfect. Super compact. The way the cable for the controller to your phone now hides in the phone cradlegenius. You never lose it because its home is built in to the controller. The charger for all 3 batteries is flawless and minimal. No bulk when its not needed. And the bag in this fly more combo. The zipper when closed makes the zipper invisible. The tolerance they got to make the bag weather resistant is top notch. DJI is number one in Drones and honestly this Mini 2 is maybe the peak of the proof of why they are STILL number 1 in drones. This drone is a masterpiece and priced so everyone can have one without breaking the bank. It has what you need.

I have owned many toy drones, with the ability to have laser dog fights, take videospictures, and perform stunts in the air, but I have never owned anything close to professional grade. In other words, I would rate my drone flying as experienced, but not professional. I still make a lot of rookie errors when flying and have a hard time taking video and photos from a drone. I read many impressive reviews about the Mavic Mini and was excited to try out this latest upgrade.DJI gives you a lot for the money with the DJI Mini 2 Fly More combo. I was amazed at the quality of the drone and remote and how the package included 3 batteries for such a reasonable price. The app was easy to install and get the drone ready to fly. There are stepbystep tutorials which guide you all the way through getting the drone set up, to basic flight operations. There was even an onscreen reminder to add accidental damage protection before the 48 hour period was up. I elected to purchase the added protection since its likely Ill crash while experimenting with all the features this drone offers. The last few days have been very windy, and I read that this drone can handle very windy conditions easily, but I was afraid to push my limited experience with wind gusts over 16 mph. Today the wind was 13 mph, and it didnt even seem to faze this drone.I have an Otterbox Defender case on my phone and could not plug the remote directly into my phone without removing it from the case. I found an old micro USB to USBC connector adapter and used it to connect the remote to my phone. My phone is still able to fit in the remotes phone holder with the case still in place.ProsEasy to flyMany featuresResists wind interferenceConsWith my limited knowledge and experience with drones, I could not find any.I would highly recommend this drone. The battery fly time is awesome, it can be used easily by beginners, and satisfy the experienced flyer with all of the advanced features.

Dont be fooled, this may look exactly like the Mavic Mini 1, but thats where the similarities endStronger motors, better props, Ocusync 2.0 and more make this the ultimate beginner quad, and its even a blast for seasoned pilots.Using the very same controller as the Mavic Air 2, you can easily pilot both aircraft with one controller. My guess is that compatibility with the DJI Smart Controller is just around the corner. This little beast packs a lot of value for the buck, highly recommended

This drone is amazing. If you want to fly a wellmade drone but dont want to have to go through getting the certification. This is the drone for you. It has a 6mile range, a highquality feel, and is very portable. When the drone is folded, its footprint is no bigger than my cell phone. Also, the battery life is rated for 31 minutes and gets close to that depending on how aggressive you fly. When flying the drone, it is very stable. It doesnt seem like you are flying such a small drone. If you are in the market for a drone, you cant go wrong with this one.

I had the first DJI mavic mini and I took that thing everywhere I went from the beach to hiking and just about anything. The one thing I hated was the signal I would send my drone maybe like about 500m distance and I was already loosing connection and my screen would get black no matter where I would be at. It was horrible, I was doing a lot of research to see if it was even worth the upgrade and let me tell you, this mini 2 is literally a completely different animal Right away I flew it from house and where my old drone would loose connection this mini 2 passed it with flying colors, Ive taken it about 1100m so far without getting signal interruption the controller is so much more amazing no more annoying antennas, it comes with a gadget to fold the propellers properly as well I always had issues with my old mini, The 4K recording is amazing and it has a cool new feature called pano where it automatically takes photos and creates a crazy pano shot, if your debating getting this drone I wouldnt its easy to fly for first timers, and its literally a night and day difference from the first mini, and not to forget the new zoom added, how cool is it to record and zoom in while youre recording

We are very happy with the DJI Mini 2 Its very easy to learn how to fly and there instructions and setup are extremely easy to follow. The camera takes really good pictures and videos Flying time is great as our flights lasted 22 min. in cold temps. 24 degrees. The only thing were unhappy with is the geek squad service. At the time we got the Quadcopter we didnt have enough money to pay for the service and the day later when we got the funds to pay for the service we were refused because we didnt get it on the day we picked up the Mini 2. DJI wont cover anything because we got it here locally Very poor service by both parties and well never make a big purchase here again

I cannot rave enough about this little beast They quote it as less than 249g, which is under the FAA weight for registration, I weighed mine with an SDXC card AND battery installed at only 8.4oz which is around 238g It folds so easy and tidy with the included prop holder, and the case just keeps everything where it needs to beNo matter if youre a beginner or pro, youll find something to love about this thing Auto take off and landing makes things a breeze, and with the bottom sensors, itll automatically slow down a bit if you hold the controller on descent once you get close to the ground. Flying it around will make you feel like a pro in no time, with little or no drone experience, they even give you tutorials built right into the app Its best to start on Cine or normal, as this thing is FAST Its easy to control, but will get up to 20mph quickly, and has a quoted top speed of 35mphOn top of all that, they upped the camera to a 4k30fps one, and with the amazing gimbal, you might even shoot enthusiast level shots on your first flight you may also meet some tree branches, but I wont judge you, happened to me Itll shoot up to 100Mbps so the sensor can really pull in the detail, even at 1080p, which can be up to 60fps, videos look AMAZING You even get some zoom, 4x on 1080p and 2x on 4kThe fly more combo is TOTALLY worth it, with 3x batteries, the amazing charger wall adapter its smart and will top off the battery that has the most charge, the super nice case, plus a whole pile of extra propsscrews for when you hit those branches. Youll easily get 20 minutes per charge, I always landed with 10 left, and each time had flown for 20mins or more With the 3 batteries fully charged, youll easily get an hour of flying, and over 1.5hrs if you get their rated 31mins per chargeIf youre in the market for an affordable drone for great photosvideos without breaking the bank, or want a fun little starter drone, this is the best option right now, and most likely will be for a while

Im an owner of previous DJI drones and this is keeping with their usual high quality products. Admittingly the Mini 1 was a slight downgrade in terms of build quality but the DJI Mini 2 improves upon this by having a more sturdy and solid build quality to it. The 4K camera is also what you would expect from a DJI product that produces great pictures and videos. The drone doesnt have any onboard storage so you will need an microSD card to save any footage, I have too many of these cards so this wasnt an issue for me. The drone actually weighs less than 249 grams which gives you wiggle room for other accessories before going over into the 250g space. The Mini 2 is a brilliant little drone given its size and weight, its incredibly stable in the air something DJI do extremely well, though with how light it is you are a little bit more restricted in what weather conditions you can fly it in.With the DJI Mini 2 now using DJIs Ocusync 2.0 transmission technology, your video feed remains incredibly stable in many areas where the original Mavic Mini may have struggled in before. The DJI Mini 2 and the Mavic Air 2 share the same controller model which are interchangeable with each other, so if you were to upgrade to this model in the future you can just pair your existing Mini 2 controller to the MA2 if you needed to.If youre looking for a lightweight, extremely portable drone for capturing your travelsif you can even get outside, this is a must have. Whilst it may not have some of the features of the higher priced DJI drones like obstacle avoidance or recording in 4K60, it still produces great images and videos. If youre upgrading from the original Mavic Mini, a lot of your accessories will already work like ND filters or extended landing gear etc.

I have owned most of the DJI drones starting with the Phantom 3 Advanced. The Mini 2 has to be to best overall drone to date. It is so compact, portable, powerful and has plenty of range. The camera is also fantastic. I currently own the Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic Air 2. I much prefer putting the Mini 2 up in the air rather then the Mavic 2 Pro. So much easier and it does not look like you are launching a giant spaceship into the air. They all have their place and uses but the Mini 2 I believe covers all the bases.

Was excited to get this new drone until I attempted its third flight and got a Power System Error. The drone wouldnt enable. I tried restarting it about 8 times, tried new batteries, then gave up. Research on the net said it was an ESC issue and the only fix was to replace the ESC board. I didnt crash the drone, nothing blocked the motors during any previous start up, I couldnt figure out what caused this error. I came back to it later in the day and it powered on and armed with no issue. Took it for a test flight and everything seemed normal. Will be watching closely and if I even get a hint of an issue it is getting returned

This is my first real drone i.e. one above the 150 price range and Im glad this is the one I got. The fly more package gives you the essentials to keep you flying, most importantly the extra batteries and charging unit. This drone has exceeded all my expectations in terms of ease of use as well as advanced options to explore. The drone is very stable, especially for its small size, and the fly time is excellent per battery. Its also not very loudobtrusive like some larger drones. The picturevideo quality is great but remember youre still dealing with a small sensor, so youre going to want to use your environment to your best advantage for the best shots. But regardless, this is a fun to fly drone with amazing range I stillam having a hard time with the fact I can fly it past visual rangeIts certainly not cheap, but if you are looking to upgrade to a full featured drone, I cant imagine you could do better than this unit.Oh, and Ive flown it into some branches and crashed it into asphalt…it is really tough.

This is my first DJI Drone and after speculation between the DJI Air 2S and the Mavic Air 2, I went with the Mini 2 mostly due to its size and portability. The fact that it weighs under 249 pounds makes it ideal for traveling to other countries and using it recreationally. The video and functionalities are excellent. It stays pretty stable in high winds compared to its size. The only thing I would have loved for it to include was the Follow me feature. Otherwise a near perfect drone in the class.

The DJI Mini 2 Fly More Combo Quadcopter with Remote Controller is a great lightweight drone with many premium features and tons of potential. Setup Setup is a breeze and as simple as downloading the DJI Fly App and following the stepbystep instructions. Once the drone is paired with the app, it will register it with DJI and give you 48 hours to decide if you want to purchase DJI Care Refresh. This is a comprehensive warranty that covers accidental damage. Best Buy also offers a protection plan. Read the fine print of both and decide which is best for you. I ended up purchasing the DJI Care Refresh. The DJI Fly App will be used during flight in conjunction with the controller. I will discuss this below under the controller section. Drone This drone may be small and only weigh 249 grams, but it has amazing performance and stability despite its light weight. The benefit of this weight is that it is below the FAA requirement for registration which is 250 grams at the time of this review however, remember any accessory lights, landing gear extensions, parachute, etc. added onto this drone with push it over and you will need to register it. Registration with the FAA is very straightforward to do online and cost 5. It is also important to check your local city and state laws regarding drone ordinances as you are responsible for knowing them. Lastly, the drone has 3 modes for flight cine, normal, and sport. I found sport mode to be a blast. The drone is ultraresponsive, fast, and stable. Battery This combo kit comes with 3 batteries each offering up to 31 minutes of flight time. I was able to get around 25 minutes before returning home to land. The DJI Fly App will notify you when your battery is running low. It is also clearly displayed in the top right corner of the app during flight. The batteries quickly charge and are easy to swap out. The only downside is that the batteries charge one at a time in the hub. ControllerApp The provided controller is well made and features OcuSync 2.0. This is super important because it now can support up to 10 km of HD video transmission. Nothing is as frustrating as flying your drone to have it lose signal and fly away andor crash. With OcuSync 2.0 you will not have this problem. Plus, if you fly under the recreational flyers organization rules you need to fly within direct line of site of you or a visual observer anyway. At 10 km 6.2 miles, you would not be able to see the drone. The controller is compatible with almost all smart phone sizes see online compatibility list and connects via 1 of 3 provided cables USBC to USBCmicro USBlightning. In my case, I used the iPhone 12 Pro Max with a USBC to lightning cable. The top of the controller expands and holds the phone. This is what is used to see live video during flight. The DJI Fly App also has additional features like take offlanding, switching between photosvideo functions, and information on where you can fly. Lastly, make sure you also download the B4UFLY app to double check you are not flying in restricted airspace. The maps are easy to read and use your user location to let you know if you are in an airspace that is not allowedwithout prior authorization. PictureVideo quality The DJI Mini 2 has a 4K camera on a 3axis Gimbal. It takes stunning pictures and video up to 4K 30 FPS. It also can digitally zoom up to 4x however, there is some degradation in picture quality as you zoom which is expected. The camera settings are controlled from in the app. Pictures and recording can be started by pressing the button in the app or pushing the right bumper on the controller.Overall, DJI did a great job designing the Mini 2 and it is one of my favorite drones. It is lightweight and portable without sacrificing performance or premium features. In fact, I like it so much I plan on purchasing a second DJI Mini 2 as a gift for my father.

Ive owned 4 different drones over the last few years. Ive liked every one of them for different reasons, but the Mini 2 has to be my favorite. Why So its missing the 1 sensor from the Mavic, as well as some of the obstacle avoidance sensors, but the camera takes great pictures, and the drone is surprisingly stable. And the range is outstanding. Lastly, its small and light, so it makes it easy to put in a pocket and take it with you. Im always excited to go on vacation, but the Mini 2 has me looking forward to vacation even more. This is definitely my favorite drone ever. The price is reasonable, the camera is really good, its stable, has great range and flight time, and its small. But the most important feature of this drone Its just so much fun to fly

Another great product from DJI and the Fly Combo means extra value than if buying products separately. The Mini 2 has a few improvements over its predecessor the Mavic Mini, including 4K camera, sturdier legs and better connection to the controller, albeit the Mini 3 is due for release soon which may have further upgrades. Initial set up is easy however do check that your mobile is compatible with the DJI Fly app before you buy. It is possible to download the app from the DJI website but you will need to change your mobile settings to allow third party apps. Once you activate your UAV you have 48hrs to decide whether to take their after care package, there are alternatives so worth a bit of research.Once installed the DJI Fly app is user friendly and allows you to access all your previous flight details as well as fine tune a number of settings. There are many videos on what you can do on a certain video sharing platform. One point to note. The law changed at the start of 2021 which now means all UAVs including the Mini 2 now have to be registered with the CAA. You will need to take a free online test to get a Flyer ID in which to fly any UAV drone or model aircraft which lasts 5 years plus you will have to register each UAV at a cost of 9 per year. Considering not registering the fines for not registering it well exceed the cost. Full details of where you can and cannot fly the UAV are on the CAA website, for the Mini 2 it is a lot less restrictive than larger aircraft which means this model will remain popular. So in summary this is a great UAV for those who are novice to flying and for those wishing to avoid the more restrictive rules. Following the rules should avoid further rules being imposed in the future.

I was given an older DJI Phantom which helped me learn to fly. But the size of the Phantom and the limitations of the dated technology quickly made want to continue my flight training with newer technology.I consider the Air 2 but decided the Mini 2 would do everything I needed at a lesser price. Considering the licensing requirements for the Air, I decided that the Mini 2 would be my choice.Wow, the Mini 2 does everything I wanted. Battery time is incredible and Ive regularly been getting 20plus minute flight times, and safely returning with time to spare.I personally think the Mini 2 handles winds better than the somewhat negative ratings that concerned me prior to buying. This little guy is lightweight but its ability to fly in winds is exceptional and sensors even help it land safely with winds that would have toppled the Phantom.Photos and videos are comparable to what Im accustomed to from my cell phoneI bought the Fly More package and especially appreciate having 3 batteries and the charger. I bought the Mini 2 after backing my beloved P4 into a 200 tree Damage will take me some time to repair. So, at 449 from the great B H How could I not resume flying with one of these until the P4 is back Actually the Mini flies exceptionally well though its tiny size makes it difficult to see as you wiz around. The new Occusync blows the original DJI Ext WiFi away with transmission clarity and distance. only thing I miss is the obstacle avoidance feature yes, my P4 does not have backward looking avoidance as noted earlier. . .Also, my phone wont work with the DJI app Need a 64bit so I had to get a PadHolder for my iPad to fly somewhat annoying given the portability of this great drone and the small remote controller. Just one more thing. . . Its quiet compared to the chop of the P4 I can get closer without announcing arrival or disturbing things. Get one. B H will have it there soonest

This is an update to my first review of the DJI Mini 2.I received the iPad 8th generation tablet over the holidays. This is now my goto device to pair with the drone and controller. I did purchase a tablet extender for the Mavic controller and use a neck strap with this device in place.I now have close to 2 hrs of flying time on the Mini 2 and wanted to give an update. I have been able to do flights without any issues out to a mile away without any loss in signal. The mini 2 flies incredibly stable even in some fairly study winds. The more I use it with the ipad as a controller the more I love this drone. One important item I added was a nice filter set. I like to use a Neutral Density filter and sometimes a polarizer, this gives a nice cinematic effect to the video footage. I have been busy practicing smooth cinematic like flight and control, getting better every flight. I ensure I am flying safe within FAA standards and rules at all times. I believe this is the absolute best first drone for any new pilot. It has solid transmission and reception along with range and the 4k HD video is stunning. For base price of around 450 this drone packs the punch of drones more than twice its price. The Occusync 2.0 is the real home run for this drone along with fact that one does not need to register it unless they do commercial work. I highly recommend one buy the Fly More Combo which is a truly incredible deal.I purchased a night hard case at harbor freight which holds my drone, accessories, and my iPad in a waterproof and pretty much crush proof case for under 62. I do like the bag that came with the unit, but when I am on the road I like to have flight case quality case for my investments.I can not say enough great things about this drone. This is a bargain and one very capable drone.

Worth it My first drone. I am impressed So much features, intuitive and unbelievable how well it works and the amount of work put into the app and design. Well worth the money and highly recommend to anyone looking to get into the Drone world. Great range, pictures and videos are amazing and have had zero issues so far. Be sure to do your research first and learn what you can via youtube and whichever resource you can find. Start in a open location to get to know the controls and from there its pretty much perfecting your skills. From the drone, to the remote, to the software its been well put together. Yes its a lot of money but its worth it so you dont have headaches or regrets later.

I bought the DJI Mini 2 Fly More Combo for my husband as a complete surprise for Christmas. I am a wildlife and lifestyle photographer, so I purchase a lot of gear. A couple of years ago, he bought a cheap toy drone just for fun, and during covid, practiced with it on our farm regularly. Hes pretty good at flying it. He likes to go with me on wildlife shoots, but he gets little bored waiting for me to get the shot, although he never complains. So, I thought I could make his time more valuable and fun by getting him a drone so he could be using his skills to capture arial photography while I am working low to the ground on my stills. He has flown it almost every day since Christmas. Its smaller than most hi rez drones and isnt regulated by the same aviation restrictions as the larger models. That is the main reason I chose the DJI Mini 2. We live in a zone that has restrictions, but, with the Mini, we have more flexibility to fly. Hes captured both video and stills and he has gotten really smooth with his navigational skills. We are both very happy. Based on his initial samples, this drone is going to produce some high quality images.

I have only had Phantoms prior to this, but I must say right off the bat, wow, the fly more combo really makes it convenient. This thing is so easy to transport. Just throw the case in your backpack and you can take it anywhere. The video and photos are exceptional. It is very easy to fly, just make sure that there is nothing behind you when pulling away from an object. I almost lost mine when I backed into a tall rock formation and luckily it didnt fall, but I and someone else had to climb to retrieve it. Lesson learned. It is very cool, but I havent gotten it to go over a mile away, so I am skeptical of the 6 mile claim, but well see, I have faith that DJI products deliver to their published specifications.

As of January 2021 BH specs say that this drone shoots video at 100 Mbps in all resolutions and framerate modes. In fact the drone only records 100 Mbps video when shooting at 4K resolution. 2.7K and 1080p video are recorded at a mere 40 Mbps, the same bit rate the original Mavic Mini used. One of the main reasons I upgraded from the original Mavic Mini was for the alleged increased bit rate when shooting 1080p60 video. I would not have made this purchase had the specs been correctly indicated on the website.

This is my first drone. Setting it up out the box was easy. Unfortunately I live in a no fly zone so it couldnt take off. My first flight was nerve wrecking so I only flew out at about 95 ft. My second flight I lost connection with the drone as it was returning home. But after about 30 seconds it reconnected. I went to a second location and had a bad crash. I suggest everyone take advantage of the DJI Refresh program. It cost 4050 bucks and you get two replacements for a year. The return process was easy and simple. I just ordered the Mavic Air 2 with the Smart Controller. Im excited to fly this one. I feel comfortable flying a bigger drone. But I will always love and fly my Mini 2. A great investment.

Straight out of the box, you have everything you need to fly. Owning a DJI Spark, I didnt need to learn much when it came to flying the DJI mini 2. However, the Mini 2 does use a slightly different app than the Spark. But overall, The drone flies effortlessly under calm conditions. Even with a little wind, The mini 2 seemed quite stable. I wish the Mini 2 had more LED lights flashing on the underside to make it more visible in the air. The three speed settings are very noticeable and can really help in getting that cinematic shot youre looking for. Like most drones and their software, take the time to watch some videos on YouTube and read articles online that give you insight on how to adjust app settings like, aperture, brightness, etc. Its quite amazing seeing the quality of footage that you can obtain from this relative low pricepoint drone. If you need more accessories, then spend a bit more for the more expensive bundles. I bought a propeller holder strap since the basic bundle didnt have one. I feel that was so important to prevent your propellers from flapping around while folded up and stored. Flight time is not bad averaging about 20 30 minutes depending on how you are flying the drone and if the wind is strong. The three axis gimbal is a great feature. the video stability is quite great for such a tiny lightweight drone. Theres no doubt its one of the best bang for the buck drones on the market today.

I was sent the product for the purpose of this review. The Mavic Mini 2 is ultralight and portable which makes it easy to take almost anywhere. This drone weighs under the FAA requirement for registration approx. 249g or the need to have to become a certified drone pilot. The first feature that stands out is the auto takeoff and Returntohome. Using the DJI Fly app you can have the drone take off and land with one tap making the most difficult part of flying a breeze. When you first start using the drone with the Fly app there is a short, oneminute tutorial that explains, in a handson manner, the basic control for flight. Being a firsttime drone flyer, this is a great feature to help with understanding how the drone reacts to the joystick movements. Here in the US, this drone is light enough to allow anyone that is 16 years old or older to fly without the need to register it with the FAA. Also, you do not need to study and pass a certification test that is required with all other drones above 250 grams. However, you still need to follow all rules pertaining to drone flying set forth by the FAA. There also are rules that vary from state to state as to where you may and may not fly. Always research your local laws before flying. One upgrade from the Mavic Mini is the ability to record video on 4K using 24,25 or 30 fps.You even can zoom in in 1080p up to 4x, 2x lossless, and 2x lossy zoom. The zoom capability is not just limited to 1080p, 4k allows for 2x zoom, 2.7k allows for 3x zoom.As a firsttime flyer of drones, this is very easy to use.I recommend getting the fly more combo for all the added accessories that make for a more enjoyable day out flying. One disappointing thing about the fly more combo for the Mini 2 vs the Mini is the absence of propeller guards in the Mini 2 fly more combo. Not that it is a dealbreaker, but it would have been nice to have them included. They are available for purchase on the DJI website if you desire to get them.

Ive put probably 100 miles on this little drone in the months Ive owned it.I bought it for a business project and have since found a lot of uses for it I never would have thought of.But mainly, I just like exploring the mountains around my house with it when lighting conditions are right.Ive also used it for a real estate filming project that wowed the client. She was so excited to see it at work.Super intuitive, easy to set up and control, and works wonders. And the insurance policy is pretty solid. My first shoot required some tricky maneuvering that led to some spectacular crashes. It survived most of the crashes unscathed, but one broke the gimbal. But the company offers 48 hours from purchase to even buy the policy. I signed up for the insurance AFTER I broke it, and was able to get a replacement in a hurry when I was ready to pay the reasonable deductible.Only request for future models is lateral, forward and vertical above obstacle avoidance. The sensor on bottom is fantastic for landing, and I just wish it was so savvy to avoid other obstacles.I also know this is a big ask for a drone that weighs 249 grams so you dont need to register with the FAA to use it.100 recommend.

Great value for the money and honestly probably the best beginner drone to get started with. The picture video quality is amazing for this tiny thing. I wish it had obstacle avoidance, but that would drive the price up. Ive crashed it a handful of times, but it keeps on going. Its really hard to see in the sky because of the color and the leafless trees make it difficult to fly by any tree, during the Winter or Spring. Most of the parts are easy to find online and are not too hard to swap out on your own. The DJI Care Refresh program is a great backup and value as well, for those not wanting to do the repairs or if you have a fly away or water damage.

I love the small size of the drone, bringing it along on family outings is not a hassle at all. When first flying it however, it did have some navigation issues. It would drift to one side for instance. I calibrated it via the app a few times and the issue appears to have subsided. My wife who saw this as yet another dad toy was impressed with the first footage I showed her. Simply put, most people dont have drones, so any images from a couple hundred feet up look amazing. This is the first drone Ive owned and so far, Im having fun with it.

Been great so far. It is a pretty awesome drone with great range and image quality. You just have to remember that without the collision avoidance sensors of its big brother so you need to be carefulI around trees and tall structures. I purchased the DJI refreshreplace insurance but the integrated tools for finding a lost drone are so good I have not needed it, YET Purchased it last winter so waiting for better weather to really put it to the test with multiple back to back flights. I have four batteries

I did my research prior to buying and the DJI mini 2 was the preferred drone to buy. The combo pack is amazing. You can fly approx 1 hour on the 3 batteries and the drone is so easy to setup and begin.Learning to fly is simple. Follow the onscreen instructions and you wont go wrong. The video footage is incredible. With a zoom function and built in auto video options you can make AMAZING videos.Dont hesitate buy itYou wont be disappointed.

Well, where do I start. I have never owned or flown a drone before, so I was nervous about buying this. My biggest fear was taking off and crashing my brand new toy into the floor. But no, this drone is amazing I feel so confident in flying this and Ive only got 3 hours flying under my belt. It has so many fail safes built in that crashing it is probably harder than flying it. The camera quality is fantastic and so easy to download the pictures to your phone This is a fantastic drone

DJI has hit it out of the park with the Mini 2, and I say that as a Phantom Pro owner who is used to a higherend, fullfeatured drone. While the original DJI Mavic Mini well call it the Mini 1 was designed to be a watereddown, entrylevel drone with largely missing or reduced functionality compared to the Mavic or Phantom, DJI really worked to bring this still limited offering up to standards which make it a great choice for anyone looking for a first drone, or maybe just a more portable drone with great features.ProsSmall and capable of being thrown in a jacket pocket or backpack.Added 4k resolution and RAW photo support.Pro features added to make shooting processing video much easier for beginners.Occusync 2.0 avoids signal degradation.Cons covered in detail at the endNo collision avoidance.RC joysticks have to be removed for storage.Phone can be tough to see in bright light due to angleCant charge batteries and RC controller at the same time with the 1 included charger.Color and size can make it hard to keep visual tabs on when flying.CameraThe Mini 2 adds in 4K30fps up from the Mini 1s maximum 2.7k30fps, which makes the video quality crisp and full of color contrast. If you do have a need for 60fps, you can downgrade the settings in the app to 1080p60fps for action or postprocessing slow motion shots. Still photos can be shot in JPG or JPGRAW mode. You can also get 4x zoom, which is not a true optical zoom, rather its the app cropping the video from 4k down to 1080 with 2x lossless zoom, then an additional 2x lossy zoom where its zooming on the pixels in the video resulting in quality loss. The camera is mounted on 3axis gimbal, which gives it extremely good stability during turns or quick starts stops. The DJI app now also includes 4 preprogrammed cinematic scenes that make beginners look like pros with their QuickShot options. These include Rocket starting off looking at the ground taking off straight up, expanding the shot as it climbs, Dronie camera faces you then pulls back upward, keeping you in the middle of the selfie shot, Circle just orbits a set area, turning to keep the selected object in the center of the video as it orbits around it, and Helix similar to circle, but in a more complex pattern of circles zooms. The video shot in these modes can then be quickedited, music added, and uploaded to social media all from within the app, no postprocessing software required.WeightThe drone comes in at a mere 249g, which puts it 1g below U.S. FAA regulations for mandatory registration weight. If youre outside the U.S. check with local regs for weight registration requirements. The size makes it small enough to put in your jacket pocket, though the fact you have to have a controller, which is almost larger than the drone itself, youll still need a small bag to carry this this Fly More package comes with a bag. Each prop is only about 3 in size, and the legs fold inward when not in use to make it easily packable.Stability FlightWith the low weight you lose absolutely nothing with stability. The Mini 2 is FAR more stable in the wind than the Mini 1, and I actually found it more stable than my larger much heavier Phantom Pro. In 2 days of flights 1 with 15mph sustained21mph gusting winds, followed the next day by 21mph sustained28mph gusting winds it felt like flying in nowind conditions. DJI touts that it will fly in up to 37mph winds without issue .You can launch the drone with 1 tap. Likewise, the Mini 2 now features a GPSbased Return to Home feature which allows you to click the RTH button and have the drone automatically come back to the exact launch point and fully land. The RTH is good if youre not sure where the drone is, or are in a situation where you need to get it home quick i.e. low battery, weather, etc..The drone now uses DJIs Occusync 2.0 technology for wireless communication between the drone controller, greatly increasing maximum distance between controller drone and ensuring clear video feed over that distance. DJI states the max distance from the controller is 10km, but flying that distance from the pilot is a huge violation of FAA regs and a good way to lose your drone when it hits something or the battery dies miles away from you. Suffice it to say, the reach with Occusync will more than cover your flight. The controller has a 3position switch for quick toggling of the flight modes available with the drone. Normal mode is, well, normal flight speeds 22mph and turning. Cine mode slows all functions of the drone down, including forward speed, turning speed, and camera angle speed to give you that slowermotion cinematic feel. Sport mode gives you maximum speed and power, meant to follow fastmoving objects, yielding you a max speed of 36mph remember this will kill your battery MUCH quicker than the 31minute specs.BatteryBatteries will give you up to 31 minutes of flight time, though I never run them that low to make sure the drone makes it back to me. I usually bring it home at about 25 remaining. Pro tip Number your batteries make sure youre using them in a rotation rather than constantly using, recharging, and using the same battery again to extend battery life.Basics for BeginnersFor those picking this up as their first drone, or transitioning from another drone manufacturer, the DJI Fly app gives you a full tutorial on how to use your drone to get you comfortable with its use. And the apps ability to know what areas are allowable vs. not allowable to fly in will keep you from making a mistake flying somewhere not allowed or dangerous.Fly More ComboThe Fly More combo package comes with more that just the drone controller. The package comes 3 batteries instead of 1, which will get you about 90 minutes of flight time, with a 3battery gang charger to allow you to charge all 3 in 1 device but note that the gang charger will only charge 1 battery at a time despite being able to insert all 3, a waterresistant carry case about the size of a binocular case that features selfsealing waterproof zippers in case you get caught out in the rain, 3 sets of extra props in case you break a set, as well as an extra set of remote control joysticks in case theyre lost you have to unscrew them store them in the bottom of the controller when packing it up, so the potential for loss is there.Cons No collision avoidance On all other nonMinis from DJI, the drones include forwardsideunderside sonar for collision avoidance. So if youre flying not watching come up on a tree, the drone will stop itself not allow movement in the collision direction. Even as a longtime drone user, this has saved my rear a few times. To save cost weight trying to get below that magic 250gram size, they did not include collision avoidance systems. Being this drone is likely being purchased by firsttime drone operators, the very people likely to run into collision issues, not including this puts you at risk of damaging or losing your drone. Make sure youre fully aware of the surroundings and just look to completely avoid any potential obstacles. RC Joysticks You have to unscrew the small thumb joysticks from the remote controller for storage, which could lead to a place where theyre lost. If theyre lost, youll have a very difficult time using the RC, which is why the Fly More combo kit comes with an extra set. The RC uses your phone as the screen for viewing the drones flight, but how its placed in the RC makes seeing the phone tough in bright, direct light. I found myself scrambling to find shade to be able to see my phone during flight when the sun was directly overhead. Other RCs for other drones give you an ability to angle the phone a little to avoid direct glare. With the 1 included USBC charger, you cannot charge both the batteries and the RC controller at the same time. Youll need a second charger, though the controller needs less charges than the batteries do. Included dongles for connecting your phone to the controller USBC, micro USB, and Apple Lightning have big, chunky collar around them for grip, but that collar keeps you from using them with many phones with a case in place I use an Otterbox and the dongles didnt even reach the port. I swapped it out with a smallercollared cable was fine. Small size and color whitishbeige makes it easy to lose sight of when in the sky, especially against clouds. Wish it had more contrasting markings to be able to maintain FAArequired visual lineofsight with the device. Props poorly marked for replacement While all of the props may look the same, 2 sets face a certain direction, while the other 2 sets are installed in the opposite direction. You differentiate with a very, very small line on the props, which if youre new to droning and arent aware of that, you can install the wrong props, which will cause your drone to invert crash on takeoff. Make sure you look for that marking if you need to replace the props. Would have liked to see a better marking or installation method like on other DJI products. In summary, DJI really did a great job with this drone. Despite wanting a nearly pocketsized drone when the Mini 1 came out, I avoided it due to lack of critical features. DJI rectified that fully with this drone, making the Mini 2 one of the most featurepacked drones in an ultracompact size that you could possibly buy. If this is your first drone, or youre just looking for something smaller, I highly recommend the Mini 2.

This is my first drone, so my review and impressions come from that point of view. They also come from the point of view of a wedding videographer and general filmmaker, so the video capabilities were really important to me.Ease of UseWhile I was beyond excited to get into flying, I was also super apprehensive. What if I crash it not many sensors on this drone What if I suck at flying it and its not fun or easy to use What if the app is a pain So I bought the drone then didnt use it for weeks. Long story short, Ive gotten it out this week and it is really simple to use I did watch some deep dive videos on the drone to make sure I understood it, which I would highly recommend. The videos that come with the drone leave a lot to be desired if you want to learn about the drone and app from top to bottom. In terms of actually operating the flight, the app, and the video system, it is all super easy and couldnt be more simple for a complicated toy like this.VideoSurprisingly great video straight out of camera 4K, 2K, or 1080p. You can do manual video controls like shutter speed, ISO, and Kelvin, or you can less the auto feature take care of that stuff. I like going manual, but auto can work well enough in certain conditions. Note that this is a fixed aperture lens.RangeNo issues with range so far, but I have not been super bold with it yet.ValueI think this bundle has a lot of value. The extra batteries are nice, and I didnt even realize I got extra propellers until I discovered a little secret zipper pocket in the carrying bag. Luckily DJI puts a tag on there because they know its a bit hidden, lol.AppGreat app, no issues using it so far. The interface is simple enough, yet detailed as well. Based on reviews from the Mini 1, having the phone mounted on the top of the controller is way better, and Ive certainly got no complaints.Overall I love this drone. I expect to use it a lot. Once I get my pilot license, I will likely look to upgrade, but only for video purposes. This thing is way too portable to go looking for bigger drones willynilly.

This drone is so precise. With a little practice you can put it where you like. With a little finesse you will get some cinematic results. If you think you are going to crash just let go and it will stop and hold until you gather your wits. . It is a real little fighter in the wind, and it doesnt even show in the video. I am well impressed. Very good for gaining pilot skills if you enjoy the fly. Up to 4K 30 FPS or 2.8 k 60 FPS . Fast for its size and running the occusync 2 it has fantastic range and good connectivity. And should it lose connection it will come home on its own. No obstacle avoidance so dont expect a Skydio. So many vids on YouTube to give advice and tips. Long flying time, you could do a lot worse than buying this drone.. highly recommend the fly more combo as it gives 3x battery, carry bag, sequential charger which can also be used as a power bank. Highly recommend this for the price.

First of all, this is my first drone. Let me say that Im blown away by the capabilities of this drone. The first flight was a bit unnerving after losing site of it but the return to home feature works perfectly. Just be sure to set your minimum return to home altitude to avoid any obstacles. The technology is truly amazing. Ive currently flown about 2 hours with this one. Ive had it up to the maximum elevation of 1640 feet which is approximately 4100 in altitude where I live. I flown it out to about 8000 from home base and the video was still transmitting. I would highly recommend this drone to anyone looking at getting into the hobby or even experienced pilots. The camera is phenomenal and it is simple to fly. A.

You should check the map before you buy a drone to make sure youre able to use it in your neighborhood. DJI drones include a geofence system, FlySafe. It prevents you from taking off in restricted airspaces, including those set up to prevent unauthorized flight around major sporting events, during wildfires, at National Parks, and around Washington, DC. I live near an airport and had to create an account with the FAA and agree to rules before it would let me fly above 10 feet. Fairly easily accomplished but an important consideration for anyone.DJI Mini2 has a high quality camera that can record up to 4K30p video, capture RawJPEG files, and features DJIs robust OcuSync 2.0 transmission technology instead of relying on WiFi. The DJI Mini 2 is a great entrylevel drone for those that dont want to spend closer to 1,000 on a drone and accessories, the Mini 2 is absolutely worth considering. To use this drone requires a smartphone to interface with and fly with this drone. Download the AP, charge the batteries and away you go.This is an incredibly easy drone to fly but also allows for some advanced maneuvers by experienced flyers. Its small enough and light enough to carry with you but solid enough to fly in some pretty stiff winds. Flying in stiff winds anything over 1520 mph will affect your flight time by roughly 510 mins. I achieved times of roughly 30 mins calm winds. There is a bit of a learning curve to learn the app and its many features. It doesnt have collision sensors, so it doesnt have the follow me feature its bigger cousins have it also doesnt cost as much. The case is a great travel pack and will hold everything you need to fly. Youll need to purchase SD card separately to allow video recording.

Love this drone package But dont forget the micro SD card. Ive had 2 previous low dollar drone toys for years and finally getting up the guts to buy because the is not easy to part with. If you enjoy flying and photography at any level but unsure like I was this is a drone a great entry start. wasnt sure how much I would use it so definitely like the idea that its under the weight that you dont have to register it and and like the features added over the previous model. First time using it couldnt believe how much better did handles over the toy drones that I have been playing with for years. I was iffy about the bundle itself but the first time going on an outing with family and our dogs and realizing I was very glad that I had extra batteries that came with this bundle. Plus the fact the battery holder and charger acts as an axillary power source to charge your phone if needed is awesome. Does take time to get familiar with functions but love the features

Ok Im sure there are better drones like the Mavic 2 Pro or Inspire or Phantom 4 Pro, but for the money, this drone cant be beat. 4k2430 video, raw images, optical zoom, its quiet, and very small so inconspicuous, easy to transport, and it produces excellent image quality.I had previously owned a Spark, so this is a step up in every possible way, but it really is an exceptional drone to own. The controller is substantial, and charges my phone while attached. I ordered just the drone with 1 extra battery, but in hindsight its probably a better deal to get the FlyMore Combo for the extra 2 batteries and charger.

I have had this drone for 3 weeks now, and its awesome to fly and to take video, the video is outstanding and so are the pictures. This drone is great for beginners, I love how good the controller fits in your hands, and with the fly more combo you get 2 extra batterys so you can fly longer, the batterys last about 30 mins per battery, depending on the winds and type of flying you do and how much video you shoot, also make sure you have a phone that is supported by this drone before you buy it. and please take a basic drone course before you fly, because these drone dealers dont tell you everything that is involved to fly one of these drones, and all the FAA rules. But this drone is awesome, have fun and be safe

So far excellent, a nice step up from the original. Solid video connection at distance and the 4k video in good light is a noticeable improvement. I dont notice it being so much quieter as many reviewers do but I havent run them side by side. Much more capable in breezy conditions than the original mini and holds a steady hover in quite gusty conditions. For a quadcopter so small its really quite surprisingly good even after youve read the reviews beforehand telling you it is If youre going to get plenty of use out of it then its definitely worth the upgrade. If its mostly going to sit in a cupboard, then like the original mini its an expensive toy. All the camera functions have worked flawlessly for me and the gimbal is excellent as it was before. I havent tried any neutral density filters on it yet and I have read reviews suggesting the extra weight may cause a problem for the gimbal but I cant comment on that from first hand experience. I much prefer the new phone clamp to the old one, it feels very secure and is much easier to connect. I did note on one Samsung S20 it connected straight away but on an old S6 I had to delete and redownload the DJI Fly app to get it to recognise the mini at all. Having done that it worked flawlessly so whether the app has changed and it hadnt updated for some reason Im not sure. I also tried it with an Apple iPad mini 4 and again the connection was faultless and this would be my screen of choice as it is with my DJI Platinum pro. So, overall its a great flying camera platform if like me thats what you want. If you want to fly for the fun of flying and you want something you can throw around the sky then you will be better off with an FPV racer.

First, this DJI Fly More package is the way to go. It has everything needed to make your drone experience fun and easy. Besides the drone and controller, it comes with a battery pack, 3 rechargeable batteries, extra props, and 3 different connector types to ensure compatibility with your mobile device, all in a compact tote bag. The drone is lightweight and folds up to fit conveniently in the tote along with the controller and batteries. The DJI fly app is outstanding It automatically updates then walks you through the initial drone activation and setup. It has an inapp flight tutorial that gives all the basics. The flight screen includes an icon for auto takeoff and returntohome making it simple to launch and land the drone. The app will tell you if its okay to fly or if youre in a restricted zone, and gives warnings about nearby restricted areas. There is no need to register or train for certification. I checked my own city and found no particular requirements or regulations concerning drone use. The inflight screen has all the information needed when flying the drone flying time remaining, altitude, distance, location, GPS WiFi signal meters, and photo and video capacity remaining. The camera takes brilliant photos see mine attached , 4K videos, and up to 4x zoom video in 1080p. Okay so this is the gist of this Mini 2. IF you are lucky to purchase one that works as it should, it is great. But that IF is a big IF.Purchasing the protection plan through Best Buy is useless because Best Buy cannot work on them. They can only send them back to DJI or an authorized DJI repair center. DJI offers the same coverage for 40. Problem is you are never able to actually get a hold of DJI when a problem exists. This one I bought on March 19th was one of several. This one the camera does not work. Right out of the box. DId all of the updates and calibrations, and nothing. Its going back, and Im not trying again. Done with the Mini 2.Now I purchased the Mavic Air 2, and since day 1 Ive had absolutely no issues. I can only assume, and from what Ive gathered off of DJI forums, is that the Mini 2s are somehow flawed. So purchasing one that works appropriately, is hit or miss

Great drone. Flew it over the lake and waterfall at Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau, Alaska, the first time. Easier to operate with sophistication to get controls of all thing. Its quite stable when I flew it over light wind high, but its automatic adjustment to stability is pretty good. Whats best, its under 250 gram that doesnt require registration with FAA. The downside, its easy to lose track since its in creamy color and small in size. There were a few times that I have to use return home feature to get it back automatically. I purchased the combo version with just a little bit more for more batteries to switch in case of a lack of electricity to recharge only a single one when in wilderness like BWCA, Minnesota, which we plan to go in the fall. This is a great lightweight, compact drone. Its super easy to use with automated take off and land. The light gray color blends in well with the sky so its stealthy. Its not super loud and does well in light winds. It takes good pictures but the camera is very sensitive and easily catches dust. It has settings that allow for hands free operation. The hardest thing to do was to set up the app to control the drone. Works well with Apple and Android devices. Im a first time user and I am very happy with this purchase. I brought this back to get the mavic Air 2 instead after comparing features, the active tracking and 48mp camera made the decision easy to make. Getting certified for basic drone operations was not that difficult the 2nd time around. There are guides on YouTube that helped get certified. The knowledge gained helped better understand the safety requirements and become a more responsible drone pilot. The replacement warranty offered by DJI during registration takes away the fear of crashing it. 2 replacements for 1 year. The air 2 is great to fly, its fast. Video is great and offers great perspective to completing videos.

Its a decent Drone.Miles better than the Mavic Mini one. They have the same WiFi system. The only difference is this one can change WiFi channel while it flies and thats how it gets the better signal. Also it has a little bit stronger signal.Need to film in 60fps because 30fps is no good for when you move about at speed.4x digital zoom on 1080 video 2x digital on all others and photos. Its still not much of a fan of wind, but miles better than the Mavic Mini 1

This is my first drone. I was not sure I would be able to operate it successfully. However the whole setup was very simple. The documentation provided by DJI is adequate and there are plenty of videos on YouTube walking you through advanced settings step by step. Very good quality video. There are a lot of modes available to create professional looking drone videos though I am just an enthusiast and will probably never use all the advanced features, it was not hard to use the features after a few days of playing with this drone.

As a longtime photographer, Id considered dipping a toe into the world of drones for some time. But there seemed to be two classes of UAVs cheap toys that would be more trouble than fun, and overpriced behemoths that required FAA registration and a big case to lug around.Enter the DJI Mini 2. Its not cheap, but for what you get, its absolutely worth it for both firsttime drone owners and those looking for an upgrade.Pros Size and weight mean its easy to carry around anywhere, and no FAA registration required. 12MP4k camera is excellent for its size, and the gimbal is generally rock solid. OcuSync 2 makes for reliable connections and long range. Batteries give good flight timeI generally get 25 minutes or so per battery. Remote is solid and easy to use, and the DJI Fly app is very good for both navigation and adjusting settings on the fly pun intended. Critically, for firsttime drone pilots, the Mini 2 is super easy to fly and lends confidence quickly. And the builtin QuickShots provide an easy way to get interesting video shots while you learn to create your own moves.Cons The small size is a drawback when it comes to keeping the drone in sightit doesnt have to go far before it becomes hard to spot The lack of collision sensors means you do have to be careful about obstacles. And I do wish it had a proper followtracking mode, but DJI currently saves that for its higherend models.Overall, if youre interested in getting a small, easytouse photovideo drone as your first or an upgrade from a toylevel UAV, the Mini 2 is definitely my recommendation. Absolutely amazing how far this tech has come in the past few years.Oh, and definitely spring for the Fly More Kit. You will DEFINITELY want the two extra batteries, and the bank charger and case are quite nice.

I bought a Spark in 2017 and have enjoyed it since, but thought it time to upgrade. I dithered between the mini 2 and the Mavic Air 2 but ultimately chose the Mini 2 because of the price point and the fact that it is sub 250 g.Not disappointedThe thing is so stable to fly as compared to the Spark, and the Occusync remote control is rock solid. The Spark always felt like I was flying on a balance point between disaster and great fun, like a first time skier, but the mini 2 is just so solid. Great to fly, responsive, camera settings are much more adaptable than the Spark and I just dont worry about whether it will stay connected to the remote or not….and a 3 axis gimbleI only gave it 4 stars as it doesnt come with obstacle avoidance, but then I never used tracking mode all that much in the Spark. Well worth the money.

I was initially concerned that something so compact would severely restrict flying to breezeless days. Not a bit of it. The stability of the system means it can control a lot of motion in itself without use intervention. That along with the three axis gimbal you can get very steady still and even better, stable videoI found the Return To Home function excellent.. very close to take of point. If the Mini 2 gets out of range or loses connection it will return automatically after 11 seconds. There are a lot of user selectable options and settings if you want ot get in there but it is flyable very quickly. At under 250 grams weight it is in the the most versatile range as regards being able to fly in more areas without extra certificates A2 CofC for exampleThe Fly More kit gives you something to transport the whole things and Battery hub, in one go. three batteries 2025 minutes flying time per battery if not in sport mode all the time is a lot longer than the 8 minutes i got with the battery in a Yuneec Breeze 4K

First, this is simply a flying camera. Unless you already have solid standards Im new to flying, you will LOVE this. It has very few safety features, however so long as you dont treat it like a toy you likely wont crash it. If you do crash, prepare to clench, but they can take a little damage so long as the gimbal camera stabilizer camera is attached to survives. Break that, good luck. The gimbal requires you to remove the protector before use, meaning you will fly with no protection. The Fly More Combo should be considered, again if youve already passed it up.It costs about 100150 more, which is less than what ordering 3 separate batteries costs if you were foolish enough to have not reconsidered the Fly More Combo, which can only be purchased with the drone. So, unless this is a bare minimum gift and you dont need the Combo, youre either going to spend hundreds getting similar items when you find out you love it, youre going to live with your regret, or you can just get the one, with the comboIf you dont know, call your US non emergency police number to obtain information on local flying laws, which may prevent you from losing your drone. If you dont know what it means to fly a UAV, follow each and every instruction the application gives you. This may prevent you from being arrested. Now, I dont trust the apps. They have conflictingdiffering info, however I do use them. Before I fly I check both weather apps for drones, both UAV local restriction map apps, AND calibratetest the gimbal. You do not want to lose your camera functionality 200 feet in the air and 3 miles away. You do not want to enter the Dept. of Defensemilitary airspace, which can be found dotting maps throughout the states. You do not want to find out too late that your area has been temporarily designated as a no fly zone. This is not a toy. It is a camera mounted to a device that can fly into or interfere with manned aircraft or fall on someones car if the operator you has failed to adhere to the regulations. Think first.

At one time or another, I have owned almost every single drone produced by DJI. This new model takes the best features of all of their products and create the perfect model for both experienced flyers and rookiesThis drone is super easy to fly and has great photo capabilities and super long range I bought the combo package which includes extra batteries and a case which makes it super easy for traveling I currently own 6 different DJI drones and this one is my first choice for a multitude of different situations. Buy this You wont be sorry

Ive been wanting a drone for many years… wistfully watching drone reviews and dreaming of the day I would spend 1500 to get a proper drone… then the youtube reviews of the Mini 2 showed up and I was blown away… Having over 6mile connectivity, 4k video, less than 250 grams in weight which allows you to bypass the need to get a pilots license in certain areas, and then finally the price… I couldnt resist …. Now, I am unbelievably happy as I have discovered how easy these are to fly. I am over 60 yrs of age and my first drone flight with nobody to help guide me went off without a hitch. Love this product the perfect combination of everything I was looking for. The only feature that might entice me to upgrade in the future would be a drone that has collision avoidance and a followme feature. It will be awhile though before I head down that path.

A fantastic drone for people getting into aerial photographyvideography but wanting something more than a toy thats also somewhat future proofed by having 4k. I cant imagine anything coming close in terms of value for money. Flight time is great more batteries with the FlyMore combo too and its incredibly easy to get started. It was a great feeling being able to just start flying without worrying about FAA registration etc but the downside of the drone being so small is that its susceptible to strong winds. If you want something sturdier then I suggest you look at the Air 2 or higher. Of course theres a few drawbacks to such a small drone, the main ones being the small sensor and pack of obstacle avoidance. But again, if its your first foray into aerial production, its a great product to get a taste of whats to come. For more experienced pilots, the drone may lack certain desirable features such as a flat cineprofile but its packed with more than enough features for those looking for a compact way of getting shots from above.

The DJI Mini 2 is one of the most feature packed drones at under 250G. It is a drastic improvement over the original by utilizing Occusync 2.0 that will allow the signal to reach 10KM 6.2 miles. The camera now allows 4K 30 video and is capable of shooting RAW DNG stills. The camera retains the same 1 23 sensor, mechanical form factor and optics like the original and all ND filters for the original mini will work with this drone. As an added bonus, the original Mavic Mini batteries will also work but at reduced power and will exceed 250G. If you also own a Mavic Air 2, the remotes are interchangeable between drones with a firmware update. It also features an RGB front led that is capable of setting a custom color in the DJI Fly app. Unfortunately, the battery will run out before the signal range does due to the limited capacity of the 2 cell battery. It does fly at an average 2428 mins in practical conditions with little to no wind. Speaking of wind, it is more tolerant of winds than the original and have a higher top speed of 16Ms35.8MPH due to the more powerful motors. Finally, most original Mavic Mini accessories will fit on this drone as well.

Its great Ive flown larger drones, and while they have their advantages, the Mini 2 is just plain fun. Its light weight and size makes it so portable for hiking and adventures. Dont leave home without it. On the downside, the video quality just doesnt quite seem like its really 4k, probably because the sensor size is so small. It tends to drift a bit if there is any kind of wind, but easily correctable. At this price point and size, the Mini 2 is the best buy The design and quality DJI put into this little beast is truly appreciated. I hope they can engineer avoidance sensors in the next version. Distance is very good, and battery life seems to last the specified duration.

I was quite impressed with the DJI Mini2 for its flight performance stable, responsive, nimble, smooth and quiet, and other attributrs. I loved the camera great pictures and video I also enjoyed the ergonomics of the remote control and the way the phone is held in place, when using the DJI Fly app. app.I used Quick Shots a couple if times and times and the only negative issue that I had was that zi became over confident flying the DJI Mini2 over open water sea until I lost the drone because of an error in judgement when flying at liow altitude.I will eventually buy another DJI Mini2

This little drone is just great. It can fly fast Ive measured up to 35mph across the ground, but also extremely slow and precise. Pop it into sport mode and shoot around, or cinema mode and slow right down. I have also flown it in up to 2025mph winds, and it holds in place extremely well, especially given its 249g .54lbs weight. The plastics that cover the drone seem quality, but I wish that it had rubber or metal legs, as the landing legs will scratch if you land on concrete. The rotors also will scratchhave bits come off if they hit a solid obkect, but they include a bunch more in the box. The range is great, and if you happened to fly it out of your line of sight I would never do such a thing…, the connection is still stable. I have only flown about 5km away, but I have had no problems with range. The camera is really good for this class, with 4K30 and decent colors for a fixed aperture lens. If you need a better lens, fo with the Mavic Air 2. This drone does not have ADSB in like the Mavic Air 2, which is a bummer, but nothing expected given the price. Overall, amazing value drone

Same form factor and size but a slight upgrade to the batteries and the charging block. Controller received a much needed upgrade Using an Pixel 3XL this controller is sooooo much better having the phone mounted on the top instead of barely pinched on the corners. Much heavier feel to it and also the update to OcuSync is a much welcomed upgrade A steady 4k connection that doesnt appear to drop out like the wireless connection did. Remember though… you are supposed to be flying line of sight.. hard part is between the size and color of this craft… its out of site in about 40. You dont receive propeller guards with it and the carry case isnt as nice as the Mavic Mini case but they did add a propeller strap to help keep the blades in place when folding for storage. There was a common issue with the rear blades in the case on the previous version getting out of shape which flattened them causing motor over rev errors.Definitely recommend both but if you can afford the upgraded version… DO IT

And everyone who sees me flying it cant help but come up to me and start up a conversation about it. That is the people that actually know that its me thats flying it. I can go so far away with this thing that most people dont even know whos operating it. Ive had the first mini and this one and this one is so much more improved then the first mini. Especially the 4k picture quality really makes a difference. If youre thinking about getting a drone go with this one I promise u wont be disappointed.

The good. DJI mini 2 was in stock at BB. BB is local. The price was the same as on line with DJI. The Mavic Mini series are awsome. The 2 has better video resolution and better range. But The batteries should not be left fully charged and in the charger. They must be stored at a partially discharged state. The mini 1 has older tech batteries. You may store them fully charged NOTE You may use older Mini 1 batteries in the Mini 2.The Con I could not add DJI extended service to the DJI Drone I purchased from Best Buy. This could be a deal buster next time.

I have been flying drones for a while now. When I came across DJI Mini 2, I thought it was the sweet spot between the cheap knockoffs and good DJI drones. Mini 2 was probably my best purchase last summer. Its not the best cinematic drone out there, but its very close. The range6 miles, ceiling1000ft and battery life30mins is that of a higher end drone. The camera isnt the best, but for the price you dont get anything better. It lacks the AI features and all round sensors found in the higher end drones, but I hardly use them, so I couldnt care less. I wish it had a proper FPV mode with the DJI FPV goggles, but it doesnt look like DJI is going to add those since they just launched the FPV drone. All in all, if you just want to take photos and videos, and you dont care about FPV and the fancy features you get in the higher end DJI drones, this is a very good deal.

While DJI has made high quality products for a while, this DJI Mini may be the best yet. It not only has a superior camera and gimble, but also allows the user a feeling of invincibility. Its as though, when operating the DJI Mini, that you are experiencing an out of body moment that seemingly transports you to a version of Heaven. As soon as this little drone took off, it was like I became more of a man. My beard which has never really grown immediately sprouted in a way that would make any hipster jealous. I immediately grabbed an axe and began chopping down trees, and since that moment of the first flight, wear flannel plaid shirts exclusively. Ladies, if you want a manly man purchase them this DJI Mini

You need to get this drone before it sells out. I believe it will be hard to find later because you do not have to register it with the FAA, because it falls under the weight requirement. I am a novice, but did own the original Spark which was a WiFi drone. The first DJI Mini was WiFi also. The Mini2 uses Ocusync 2.0 which allows flights, potentially out to 6 miles. That said, you must be familiar with visual line of sight VLOS regulation by the FAA. Basically you have to be able to see your drone at all times while flying sigh. I live in an HOA community, so always check with your local regulations about flying drones in your neighborhood. My HOA didnt have any. Be sure to get KittyHawk B4UFLY apps that will help you fly safely. The camera allows 4K video up to 30 FPS and 1080P at 60 FPS. Simply put, this is the best pocket drone on the market right now and DJI hit a home run with this drone. Highly recommend it and safe flying to everyone

My first drone, so I had worries about how hard it would be to fly, to learn to shoot video with, regulations and more. The drone is very easy to fly, the website gives you basic instructions on how to unpack and prepare it for flight. The app gives you more information and there is a TON of information available on YouTube. Everything works right out of the box fully charge the batteries before first flight though. The preprogrammed flight modes dronie, orbit, etc. and the creation software in the app make it easy to post your first semipro looking video online. Nothing but good things to say about this purchase. BH made buying easy as well with the fly more package. I got a microSD card, extra parts, a nice carry case and FAST shipping. All around great deal

It has very good flight and stabilization qualities, Also has very good photography, both still and video. But the system has a serious flaw that make it almost unusable. That is that it causes the iPhone device to overheat to the point that the touch screen become unresponsive. Or the iphone may shut down. This all happens within about 10 to 15 minutes of use. A message saying mobile device CPU fully loaded pops up immediately as you start using it. You can potentially loose the drone. Also, the USB cable that it came was did not work I had to buy another cable for another ten dollars. The DJI forum is full of other users with same issues. I do not recommend this product.

Ill start by saying that I have never used a drone and I had some expectations that the Mavic Mini 2 would be relatively easy to use.Safe to say that this drone is incredibly user friendly. Out of the box, I did a firmware update, and watching a few YouTube videos, I went to the FAA website and set up as a recreational flyer. Although I didnt need to, I figured I would since I eventually would like to be under Part 107.I watched Alien Drones on YouTube How to fly a drone anywhere video which gave an incredible amount of detail into planning your drone flight and taking the necessary safetyaviation awareness precautions. I highly recommend the steps listed in this video. I also downloaded the B4UFLY and Kittyhawk apps for flight planning.Off the ground, the Mavic Mini 2 is incredibly stable, and super easy to fly. The controls are incredibly sensitive and even subtle movement can be achieved with practice. Whenever I would be concerned about unintended movement, such as, when the flying the drone towards you, and the controls are reversed, I would release the controls and the drone would immediately stop and remain stationary at the current altitude. This would give me time to get my bearings and adjust the controls to get the indented movementdirection.Being that Ive never operated a drone before, I have no frame of reference to compare it to but if I were to design an entry level drone, the Mavic Mini 2 would be it everything I would want. The features and technology packed into this small little package seems to me amazing. It does not have all the features of some other DJI drones, it does pack an incredible amount of value. If I could have one feature thats missing in this package, it would be the ability to program waypoints.Weighing in at 238 grams, it puts you well below the max weight of 250 grams, putting you in Part 107 territory. Even with an ND filter 1 gram, youre still at around 239 gram. If you decided to pop on an anti collision light for dusktwilight flight, you will probably be at, or just over 250 grams. The video quality of the Mavic Mini 2 is fantastic. I shot a few videos already and posted them on YouTube and many people have said they cannot believe how good the quality is considering the size of the camera.I purchased the fly more combo and I think it is a must have. On the first flight, I went into the second battery and I feel its nice knowing you have back up batteries in case you need to extend your flight time.Things I liked the most about the Fly More ComboExtra BatteriesBattery Charger Holds and charges 3 batteriesSoft CaseAccessories I purchasedRCN1 Tablet HolderLonger 90 USBC to 90 Lightning Cable for use with ipadFreewell Standard Day NDPL FiltersSandisk Extreme microSD Card 256gb 128gb is more than enoughDJI Care 1 year 2 occasions repairreplacementIf youre looking for an entry level drone that packs some serious technological punch, this is it.As far as purchasing from BestBuy, Im completely satisfied. I used my birthday bonus to bring down the price significantly. Great drone for the price, user friendly easy to set up.For a first time drone owner this model takes away any apprehension to flying and filming, also the camera takes beautiful still frame photos.I definitely recommend this drone.Durability makes this a must own, as I stated, a first time drone owner and flyer, the amount of crashes this model has endured makes it worth more than the price tag. I am also pleasantly surprised by the amount of fly time one gets per charged battery, I would say this drone probably has about 5 minutes to what the box displays.

This combo package is good for outdoor flying but lacks the propeller protective cage for indoor flying so consider that option if indoor flying is something that youll want to do a lot because the drone will automatically stop the motors if it detects propellers striking any object. As an Android user I prefer installing apps from the Google Play store so I have deducted one star from this review because the DJI Fly app has to be downloaded directly from the DJI web site and installed as a nonGoogle Play apk file. The PDF User manual downloaded from the DJI website covers all of the features and its a good idea to become familiar with those before beginning to fly the drone.Flying the drone itself was easy for me however it may help that Im also a previously licensed glider pilot Microsoft Flight Simulator user that is familiar with flight controls. The noise level of the drone is surprisingly quiet and becomes barely noticeable when the drone is above 50ft above ground.Be careful about judging distance between the drone and objects when you are standing behind it some distance away as it is easy to get too close and have the propellers strike the object and be automatically stopped. Thankfully I was flying the drone low slow at the time when that happened and a couple of propellers received some small nicks in the outer edge before the drone dropped to the soft ground below. The drone was still flyable after turning it off and back on again.

I upgraded from an old Phantom 3 4K and let me tell ya. This thing changed my life. SO MUCH LIGHTER. Biggest pro is the weight and the need to not register it with the FAA. The drone itself is awesome. Best feature is probably how compact it is. Literally goes anywhere and you dont even notice it. Havent had any problems with it disconnecting. The perfect little drone. The fly more bundle takes it to the next level. For real its so nice to have extra batteries and not have to change them in the drone. Perfect to get shots that would be impossible otherwise.

Excellent drone, if you are new to drones or experienced, it doesnt matter. It is easy to fly, just take it slow at take off follow the guide and you will be up and flying like a pro in no time. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to get into drones. Make sure to read up on drone flying rules as faa has rules in place that should be followed. This drone does not need to be registered it is under the weight limit, nor does it need part 107 license unless you are using it to make money. Stay under 400 feet unless have permission to go higher, download a few drone apps to help. B4ufly app so you can see if any restrictions at your location, I would download it before buying the drone even. uav forecast, weather forecast app for drones, tells you if good to fly based on wind and satellites for gps. I dont recommend flying in wind gust over 25mph but regularly fly at 20 and above with no issue. Also recommend the fly more kit over basic kit. It gets you almost 1.5 hours of flight time which is quite awhile. Battery life depends on wind speed also, I dont think a lot of people realize it. The higher the wind the more power the drone uses to stay stabilized. The 4k footage is fantastic, I would also recommend flying at sunrise or close to sunset, if flying in middle of day best to get a pack of nd filters, basically sunglasses for your camera. Is it worth the money even at basic package of 450 that is for you to decide, but i would say yes, well worth the cost for what you get compared to some of the cheaper competitors. I have bought cheaper drones and always been dissatisfied, and felt like i wasted my money. I cant wait to fly the drone every day. I also recommend getting the dji refresh insurance. Would I buy again most definitely, depending on your budget and use you might look at one of the more expensive dji drones.

This is a wonderful little first drone and the kit is an excellent value. If you are a first time drone flyer, you wont regret making the purchase.ProsVery small and easy to carry around in its satchel. You get three batteries and a charging case to hold them in.The drone gets between 20 and 30 minutes of flight time depending on the local weather conditions. You get several sets of spare propellers and you will most certainly need them after your first big crash or two.The drone itself is easy to fly and the phone app is highly customizable as to how you want to control the drone. Its fun to fly even if you arent interested in making videos for that day.ConsI didnt like that I had to set up a DJI account to use the drone. One of my batteries is a tighter fit into the drone than the others so it can be difficult to remove after flying. It can be scary when you lose sight of the drone and the app takes a little while to notify you of auto return home. There are some days when the remote signal seems strong than others. This might be due to interference and it is annoying. If I crash and destroy this one, I will most definitely get anotherTom

Im an average quad user, maybe not so often user. I had a DJI Phantom 3 prior to the Mini2. The differences are remarkable, granted theres close to 5 years age difference. The Mini2 has not dissappointed me one bit. The biggest advantage is the Range w OcuSync 2.0, same tech as the big Mavics. I only wish for some of the find me functionality that is in the Mavic, in terms of shooting action shots.Regardless I would purchase this over a Mavic 2 based on costs. this drone is exactly what I was looking for. its 4k camera actually looks 4k. its range is the best Ive seen and Ive owned about 10 drones. this is the most expensive one yet but its well worth it. if it goes out of rang the mini 2 will come back automatically. and Im talking about this baby will land itself exactly where it took of from. its impressive. the battery life 30 minutes per and it comes with 3. the remote has a rechargeable battery. with the price of quality AAs thats definitely a big deal to me. there charging dock has 4 indicator lights per battery slot so you know which bat. is fully charged and which are charging still. I could go on and on about this drone but ill end with saying, if you take your hands off the remote this mini 2 will hold it position regardless of wind or momentum. final final comment the 4k camera is on a 3 axis gimbal that can look striaght ahead or straight down and all the angles in between. Perfect drone for beginners and experienced flyers alike. The new regulations mean the sub 250g weight of the drone allows you to fly in more places. These drones also wont be negatively effected after 2023 when larger legacy drones are likely to see considerable restrictions. The footage and images captured are of great quality given the small package. The low light performance dynamic range could be better but given the small size of the camera sensor its more than acceptable.

If you are in the market for an entrylevel drone with some pro features the DJI Mini 2 has you coveredThe biggest upgrade over the original DJI Mini is the remote controller with a larger battery and a phoneontop design. You can get by with just purchasing the standalone kit, but the Fly More Combo for the upgrade price is really a great purchase with all the extras that come along. The 31 minute run time per battery is theoretical with no wind. So, the more it has to stabilize itself the more battery drain. You could easily go through a battery on a moderately windy day of 6mph, so the combo package is worth it for the extra batteries and charging bay.I would highly recommend you gauge what your use case is going to be and decide from there on which series of DJI drones fits your needs. If it is as the promotional material advertises, as a way to add some fun to the memories of a family vacation or sightseeing trip, then DJI Mini 2 definitely will take care of that.I live on the doorstep to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, so it was nice to get some really good panorama shots that you just cannot get any other way in some of the locations I was in.Being entrylevel doesnt mean its toy quality. Ive tried that route many times and they are darn near impossible to fly. The DJI Mini 2 is a solid drone that has a short learning curve to get up and running and get some short production level video. If youre new to the game, use the Academy section in the app, it is a great place to get up to speed. Just like ground photography, lighting and lining up your shot matter. And when you are ready to start editing, the DJI Fly app has you covered. The editor can cut video, a lot of preset filters, text, stickers, and scene fades. As long as you have vision you can create some nice photos and videos. The only downside to the software will be the screen size of your device that you are doing the editing on. For Samsung users, Dex mode on a touchscreen laptop does not add the functionality I was hoping for. Its not possible to drag with a pointer.I have used both a Samsung S20 FE 6.5 209 and a Motorola G Stylus 6.4 19.9 and it is doable. Both phones are pinhole cameras on the screen and neither can display the app in full screen mode. The App shrinks to the tightest line it can going up to the pinhole camera to maximize screen usage. Samsung even has the ability to force stretch an app, but apparently this is being blocked by DJI still. Im guessing this has more to do with not having the image blocked by the camera lens more so than DJI just not wanting to allow you to use the full screen. They do offer an addon for a tablet mount to the controller, so that is an option if you find you need a bigger screen. An 8 Tablet I think would be the sweet spot in a close to 169 format. However, a workaround to just edit on a bigger screen is to download the DJI Fly App to a tablet and use the Quick Transfer feature and you will get all the data from the drone capture. The biggest difference in my mobile devices was the transfer speed of the videos from the drone when NOT using the quick transfer feature. But when using the quick transfer I saw speeds of 23MBs consistently on both devices. The Moto G Stylus was slower and inconsistent, while the S20 FE was always in the 5MBs range again in the standard transfer setting. The Quick Transfer though is really the only way you want to transfer large amounts of data to edit in the DJI Fly app. The drone and controller use battery in the standard mode and the drone gets really hot the longer it is transferring the data. About 4GB takes about 3 minutes to transfer in the quick transfer. However, if you are just wanting to transfer the Quickshot videos, those are only about 16s18s long so they dont take much to transfer and are not necessary to switch to the Quick Transfer mode. Photos automatically sync as do cached video at 720p resolution. And of course, you can always just pull out the MicroSD card and download them to a computer…butThe only dislike I have with the DJI Mini 2 comes down to the Quickshots functionality as it only records in 1080p, which from what I read is the same for even the more expensive ones. The Quickshot will have 2 options the unedited footage and an edited one with music, color correction, and fade out to a DJI logo. You can only get the DJI edited version via the app. Its meant to be quickly shared via social media. You can share to Google Drive, etc. But it doesnt just give you the option to save to the device.I dont really have complaints about the DJI Mini 2, just observations. It is a solid product no doubt and it is sure to add some fun and excitement to your photo scrapbook and wow factors to your social media accounts.I can easily recommend this product.

Bought the Mini 2 mainly to use when travelling. Package arrived in perfect condition and love the fact that it is small, it folds up to palm size, has a cary case and comes with extra propeller blades. The battery pack can also be used as a power bank in case of emergencies. Its light under 250 grams so as per the UK CAA regulations can be used in most drone permitted areas. The footage is so clear and its a great addition to any travellers or photographers kit.The app syncs brilliantly so you always know where you can and cannot fly.The controller is also equally light and easy to use.My Best Buy of 2021.

This a power packed Drone, picture quality is just awesome. Also, it can fly around 2025 minutes with single charged battery. Fly more combo is always a deal you should look for, it gives you extra 2 batteries, Charger and set of propelers. This Drone can hold its position quite cofortabily. RTH is the feature which help you not to loose your drone.Recommended to complete the TRUST certification to avoid unnecessary situations.

I purchased this drone to take my own property videos for my real estate business. I use it daily to capture family videos and take photos. I cant say enough good things about this drone and accessories. Easy to use, handles wind amazingly well and produces quality images. Also glad I spent the extra money and got the Fly More Combo. Couldnt imagine having to buy extra batteries and the charger separately. Very handy device. Fun to use. Awesome.

This thing is amazing. Ive flown plenty of toy drones and my own DIY FPV quad, but this is on a different level. My 8 year old picked up the controller and just figured it out himself. He burned through 2 batteries almost an hour of flight time with no close calls and plenty of great video. For the price, this is the real deal and worth it for your first real drone. The Return to Home feature also works excellent as long as you make sure it knows where home is. Take your time, learn the settings and features, theres plenty of learn.

The Mini 2 is an excellent product, DJI did a very nice job with it. The camera quality is great for the tiny drone it is, and the drone offers a multitude of ways to get creative. It is small, foldable, lightweight very, and highly portable. If you are looking into a nicer drone without spending thousands of dollars, I would highly recommend this. I previously owned a Phantom 3, and the Mini 2 was a wonderful transition and upgrade. The other items that come with the drone are also very nice. The controller has a great feel and is easy to use, the Charging Hub is convenient, and the carrying bag fits everything compactly but also snugly and has a bit of room to spare. I was concerned about this before initially buying, fearing I would need a different bag, but I have not found this to be the case.I am very impressed and would certainly recommend this product. No drone is completely ideal, but I think an argument could be made that this is one of the best smaller, less expensive drones in the market.

Despite wanting a nearly pocketsized drone when the Mini 1 came out, I avoided it due to lack of critical features. DJI rectified that fully with this drone, making the Mini 2 one of the most featurepacked drones in an ultracompact size that you could possibly buy. If this is your first drone, or youre just looking for something smaller, I highly recommend the Mini 2Once you get the drone unfolded, and slap a battery in there, pairing the remote and drone together happens seamlessly, and youre greeted with some getting started introduction video clips right in the DJI Fly app. If youre flying outdoors with open space and a clear GPS signal, the ReturntoHome function works very well, but I tend to favor manual control of where the drone comes back and have the option to move the landing point.Being entrylevel doesnt mean its toy quality. The package comes 3 batteries instead of 1, which will get you about 90 minutes of flight time, with a 3battery gang charger to allow you to charge all 3 in 1 device but note that the gang charger will only charge 1 battery at a time despite being able to insert all 3, a waterresistant carry case about the size of a binocular case that features selfsealing waterproof zippers in case you get caught out in the rain, 3 sets of extra props in case you break a set, as well as an extra set of remote control joysticks in case theyre lost you have to unscrew them store them in the bottom of the controller when packing it up, so the potential for loss is there.

I am a complete novice in the drone world grandchildren thought I might like a new challenge. Thankfully this drone is highly intuitive and flies with the precision of a sports car. Its name may be Mini but it handles wind and bonehead pilot errors like a main battle tank. The setup is easy if you watch any one of the dozens of You Tube videos related to the DJI Mini. My only problem is my old cell phone CPU that sometimes impairs satellite connectivity. In my mind this is a truly spectacular product for the money, the 4K video being very stable and very nearly professional grade.

Ill start with this, the fly more kit is packaged very smartly, the drone and all the accessories are already in the bag that comes with the kit in the box. This is great because the shipping company bashed in the corner of the box I got not the fault of BestBuy or DJI and everything in the box was still AOK because it was packaged well and padded in the case already. As for initial impressions, this thing is seriously cool. The Camera quality in both Video and Photo modes is very good and this has to be one of the easiest drones Ive ever flown. I was up and running in less than 30 minutes from box open to first flight. Although I would recommend you charge the battery that is in the drone to begin with first just to have a full battery. For the drone aspect of this system its easy to fly and does what you want without too many hassles and its nice that it is right under the registration weight here in the US. Photos where easy to take as well as video and overall, Im very impressed with build quality and camera quality as a whole.I do have some things that I though could be done better though and most of those pertain to the app that you must use to fly the drone. First, you cant Preset settings for the drone. The drone must be powered on and connected for you to be able to set any settings in the app. In a way that makes sense since they are settings for the drone you are using however it would be nice if you could at least look through and set some items when the drone is not connected and then be prompted to update those settings once you have connected the drone. With a battery that last about 30 minutes in flight I may not always want to sit there with the device powered on even though its pulling less power if the rotors are not spinning just to look through settings. The other thing is it is a small disappointment that this drone does not include any sort of obstacle avoidance or object tracking like its larger brothers do. I know part of the reasoning for that is the weight limit, but it would be nice to have at least a softwarebased object tracking in the app so the drone could follow you around. Also, without obstacle avoidance the quick shot modes are kind of hard to use unless you have a very very open space that you are sure it wont run into anything. For me I have lots of trees and powerlines in my area so its hard to find an open enough area to utilize these modes to their fullest because of the worry that the drone might run into something while it is in its automated quick shot arc.But even with those there are some good things as well, the auto takeoff and return to home features are super helpful to just keep things simple and the app does do a good job overall of letting you know what you need to do to get off the ground so it has that going for it.Other than those minor complaints I was super happy with the function and quality of the drone overall.

This drone is rock steady, easy to fly and creates stunning 4K video and raw photos. The quick shot features add to the cinematic look. This drone has great flight time. Ive yet to use all three batteries in my outings. I was hesitant to purchase a drone but after lots of research I found this to be a perfect starter drone that will continue to be used regardless of if I progress into larger, professional level drones. Very portable and I take it everywhere. Definitely a must buy

I am not sure what I could add to already tons of great reviews. I bought this drone to record my vacations and flying adventures. For anyone who is looking for their first drone, this would hands down be their best bet. The drone is compact and very easy to carry in your camera bag. It is very easy to fly. If you struggle during flying, just simply let go off the controls and the drone will just hover in its place which makes this ideal for beginners. And you can also bring it back with just push of a button. How cool is thatThe image stability and quality through the gimble is great too. I banked the drone at a faster speed and checked the video footage and it came out just amazing. You cant even tell that the drone was banking. The drone has an astounding range of 10 km, I personally havent tried to fly that far.I did fly the drone in 15 mph winds and it flew just fine and had a nice stabilized video. I am very happy with this purchase.

I have owned this drone for a month, and we have gone through some stuff.I watched YouTube to learn the details of the drone and app which is very helpful since this drone has many many functions. I have flown in 100 degree Texas weather with light winds, the beach with strong winds and in 20 degree weather with strong winds in Colorado. I crashed the drone into a tree in Colorado… but she survived. The drone was also attacked by a bird at the beach and she survived. The pictures and videos are awesome and easy to upload to social media. I carried the drone combo set in my carry on luggage and had no issues with TSA. This is my first drone and I am very happy as a beginner. Strangers dont Seam to mind the drone. Most of my footage is of the floor since I forget to aim the gimble up but I will learn with practice this is an awesome hobby. My Bertha is awesome

Okay, so I would have given this a 5star review except for the followup accessory issues I had because of DJI policy.I am a first time drone pilot who did my best to research the available drone options and tried to pick one that looked like it would do what I wanted I want to document remotely located archaeology sites but not be so complicated that I would be overwhelmed by all I needed to learn to be successful. I feel like I chose the right drone.Flying it is really simple and takes no time at all to master. Figuring out how to get good photos from a drone in the air can be a little bit more challenging, but simply takes a little experience. Getting the photos and videos off the drone and onto my computer is a little bit awkward, but seems to be possible with a threestep process 1send data from the aircraft to my Iphone, 2mail from my Iphone to my email, and 3downnload from my email to my computer files. Like I said, its a bit awkward and time consuming, but not unmanageable. One issue I had not considered until I started flying the drone was the relatively short aircraft battery life. After hiking several miles and climbing hundreds of feet to arrive at an archaeology site, you would like to have more than 2030 minutes of flight to take photos and videos. So you need a spare battery or two to extend your flying time.Right after I purchased the drone and started using it, I decided to purchase spare batteries and a charging station. Now this is where DJI disappointed me. While I could have purchased the fly more option and gotten the drone delivered with spare batteries and charger included, or I could have purchased more DJI Mini 2 drones that come with a battery. DJI was not selling any batteries or chargers to existing customers. I hounded their customer support for weeks trying to get a spare battery, but they wouldnt budge. Finally, they sent me an email telling me that for a very limited time I would be allowed to order spare batteries and chargers. I did. They had to come from China to Arizona which turned out to be difficult but not DJIs fault. So now I have the drone and needed accessories and am flying and taking photos and videos regularly. I am still no expert. The software app that makes it possible to fly the aircraft with your phone is quite sophisticated and complex. I have not completely mastered all the features, but I am doing more sophisticated things than I had imagined prior to getting the drone and plan on continuing to become more expert in my drone flights and photos.I am really satisfied with my drone choice today. Because this is my first drone, I cant compare it to other options, but being able to fold this up and place it in a backpack makes it ideal for what I want to do. And it really is easy to learn to fly. I am having fun and getting great shots.

I have been using DJI Mavic Mini 1 for a while and then after a crush, had to upgrade to DJI Mavic Mini 2 at a short notice. There was nothing to learn in terms of flying and operation with this new drone.Check out my videos I have created using this drone at httpswww.youtube.comWorldFromAboveThe 4K video quality is excellent and also the photos resolution is great. There are few things I dont like about this drone though. The live video transmission visibility on your phone is often poor. I have done over 40 flights now with some 4 hours of flying so far and during about half of them I experienced pixelized video while recording. This doesnt affect the video recorded, but it is an issue while flying as you cant see properly where you are. Also even in an open space with no interferences I doubt this drone can fly 10 km away and still be controllable. My estimate is 3 km. Overall great drone for beginners.

Right now as I write this I am upset as hell. I bought this drone to use on a trip to Colorado for filming and a few other things. I waited a day, opened it up the day before my trip and found no propellers attached to the drone, and the back left motor arm is broken after unfurling it from the body one time. It is not like I let it snap back either. Now the arm refuses to fold, and the drone is useless for its intentions.Im exchanging the morning of my trip, but plan to do a in store inspection of the drone before leaving to make sure everything is there at least. This is going to delay my trip by 3 hours as well so bonus points I guess.

I am so glad we bought this Takes great, crisp pictures and 4k video. Easy to learn to fly. Really impressive range we had it over 2 miles away, and it still had good signal strength. Battery easily lasts 20 minutes, even when the drone is fighting wind. The drone has several preset photo options that make it easy to take great photos, even if you barely know what youre doing The Fly More combo is definitely worth it, as it comes with some extra batteries, a nice carrying and storage case, and some extra parts. I cant wait until I have more free time to learn how to take even better shots

The Mini 2 is awesome. Really easy to set up, has the features I was looking for in a first drone and the price doesnt break the bank. Is it perfect No, but it is pretty excellent. Flyability is great havent had any issues with high winds, so far. The only downfalls are the set picture profile no option for any log profiles and the lack of proximity sensors. You really have to gain some confidence before doing anything too risky, but it is not intimidating to start it up for your first flight. The footage straight from the drone is great and its a nice portable size and is not obnoxious and attention grabbing when flying. Flight time feels like its a bit quick I would say it feels more like 20 minutes if flight time and time flies when youre having fun. Overall, pleased with the drone, accessories of the fly more combo, and image quality.

Ok, first off I am by no means an expert on drones. My first experience with a drone was a GoPro Karma. Now he was only doing his job but I let the salesman at Best Buy talk me into that purchase. What a mistake Now the new one, the DJI Mini 2 is amazing to fly A totally different experience to fly, much more user friendly. An absolute joy to fly. With more practice and flight time it is getting easier to capture some amazing pictures and video. It is a great drone. And at the price of 599.00 for the fly more it is a fantastic deal. If your looking for your first drone this is a great one.

I upgraded from a Spark to this and it was a great idea There are really no negatives to this purchase unless you are wanting to fly in more adverse conditions, looking for active tracking and obstacle avoidance, or need footage that is more appropriate for post coloring. Picture and video quality are fantastic for the price. The range and stability is amazing. Battery life is great and spares are very affordable. Compared to the previous models Mini 1, Spark, Mavic Air, etc the new controller is definitely an upgrade. Hoping that DJI will bring master shots and possibly some sort of active track in the future, but if not, its still easy to fly and capture great footage. Love it

Over the last several years, I have flown and sold my DJI Phantom for Mavic Pro and then sold that to try the mini 2. I hated to give up the follow me modes and avoidance sensors, but the size and portability of this drone sold me. I have put about 6 batteries worth of flights into it so far and am very impressed. The specs say it is roughly 6 mph slower than the mavic, but it feels like its 15 mph faster I guess its the small size that makes it seem faster.I didnt enjoy it, but for the sake of testing the mini 2 capabilities, I took it out during some nasty weather this week. I believe the temp was 28F below recommended flying temp and the constant wind speed was 8 mph with 15 mph gusts at ground level. The more powerful motors could be seen fighting the wind with some pretty serious tilting of the drone, but it held its position perfectly and the wind was not visible at all on the video footage.I would definitely recommend this drone to anyone interested in flying as a hobby and is willing to give up a few tech features for smaller size. Considering the premium the extra features cost, it seems like a no brainer for anyone looking for a hobby drone.

I can never get them to last as long as advertised but its always windy here so thats probably why. The camera takes awesome videos and pictures as well. The builtin quickshot effects are really handy as well Im looking forward to gaining more experience with this little guy. Super amazing capabilities for its price pointOne thing I feel pretty disappointed is the flight distance. In the description it said the distance would be 10km 6.5 mi with a direct libe of sight. In a city I can only get about 800m .5 mi. I was expecting a bit more although its very understandable, on the open outdoor I have been able to get up to 3km 2mi no problem so Im sure it can fly much further than that, I just havent tried it yet

Awesome Drone. Had purchased a cheaper one to learn with. Felt it was time to get a good drone and chose the DJI Mini 2. Love the drone. The camera is unbelievable and the flight controls are very responsive. Nice features built in for auto return when battery gets too low. The long life of the batteries allows me to play and take the photo or videos I want with plenty of time left. I am no pro, just an enthusiast but love it. The built in quick shots are very nice. Its camera is exceptionally steady with the gimbal. I would recommend to anyone wanting to get started.

This thing is awesome. It is really stable and really easy to fly, the camera is really good, it has a really good range, and I love the size of it and how it folds up so its really easy to transport especially with the bag they give you with it and the strap for the propellers. I have a few suggestions for upgrades though they should make it completely wireless to where it doesnt have to be hooked up to a phone. If you upgrade your phone, you may not be able to use it anymore and that is not ok due to how expensive it is. Also, even though it has a decent battery life, I would like to see a hour of flight time on a single charge and you should be able to charge all 3 batteries at the same time. Lastly, I would like to have a follow me function on it. But, with that being said, they really did do a really good job designing this drone.

I bought this drone for my husband for Christmas, I know nothing of drones but with the help of the online chat I was confident in my choice. My husband was like a little kid when he opened this gift and my purchase was conformed when his on the job IT guy told him your wife did good. He actually has the same brand but the bigger model. The video is top notch and the unit itself is easy to maneuver. This is one smart little device. I will forever remember my husbands face and the excitement he has when he gets ready to fly. Now when he goes hiking he can take videos of his experiences.

Bought the original Mavic Mini as a travel drone it wasnt suitable for work purposes, even as an emergency backup. This drone, the Mini 2, shoots in RAW, has 4K video, does panos, flies nicely… Camera shoots 12MP images, just like my more expensive Mavic Pro. Not sure what more I could ask from a UA at this price point. Im a Part 107 Remote Pilot and Commercial Photographer, so I wont be buying DJI again. But I will likely use this drone for years to come. More bang for the buck than any product Ive purchased in the 21st Century

I have had many drones and this one is a new favorite. More or less because it is small and I can take it out easily. It comes in a pretty nice padded case which fits everything in it. I am happy with the new style controller because there is a lot more to work with and that I dont have to buy a separate adapter to have the phone sitting on top instead of underneath. The buy more option is definitely worth the value just for the extra batteries but you do get a lot more with the option multi battery charger. If you are starting out this is a great little drone that has a lot of potential. If you have multiple drones you will like this as well because now you have a more compact option for great quality videos.

My son loves this thing. He iswas a very novice drone operator before he got this. With that said, its been very easy for him to use. It doesnt quite fly itself, but its pretty close. He hasnt flown it in windy conditions of course…or when its rained or snowed. But even with a slight wind, its been great. The other great thing, is that its under 250grams, so no need to register with the FAA.One last thought….if you live within a couple of miles or so of an airport, like we do, you wont be able to just go fly your drone. I believe that you need to go to either the DJI website or the FAA site cant remember which…might be both and fill out some online info, and that will basically unlock your drone to fly near an airport. Just a heads up on that…

First time drone ownerpilot and this is such a fun little gadget. DJI really makes it easy for beginners to get started and has all the necessary accessories minus the prop guards to take your new hobby to soaring heights pun intended. Getting everything hooked up is as easy as can be. DJI has been doing consumer products for some time now and with every iteration, they just keep getting better every year. Ive always wanted to own a Mavic but just coudnt pull the trigger but with this Fly More Combo, it was the perfect starting point. Just be aware that there is no obstacle avoidance sensors on the aircraft so be careful flying up and to the sides of any nearby objects. It does however have a downward sensor for landing. The video in 4K is glorious Photos are phenomenal as well and taking videos and photos are as easy as a press of a button. I will keep using this drone until I am more confident in my abilities and it does take some practice. Get this quadcopter because it is the best out there as of 2020

The dji Mini 2 is a great wee drone. This machine has the ability to fly higher and further than the regulations allow. It is extremely simple to use and control. The information on the screen you need your phone to be the screen is comprehensive and useful. The camera takes good quality photos and video, and can be set to auto or manual if you want to try something a bit more interesting with it. With the Combo pack there is a good set of extras that really are essential. These include a carry case and extra batteries etc. This drone comes neatly into the under 250g category so you can fly it with only the minimum of registering and passing an easy multiple choice safety test. Go on…buy one and have enjoy the fun of flying.

I was intrigued with the release of the Mini last year but it just fell short in a few areas. I own an original Mavic Pro, which is a nice drone, but as compact as it is, it can still be a bit to set up and fly on a whim. The Mini 2 has a camera that rivals the original Mavic, and Id dare say a little better with colors and detail. The controller is awesome and quite comfortable and the drone is much quieter and of course lighter. The Mini 2 is impressive.Things that I love about the Mini 2 over the original Mavicsuper compact and light weightlonger flight timebetter image and video qualitycan fit in your pocketquick and easy to set up to fly on a whimUSBC chargingcharges your phone while using the appfly more combo battery charger doubles as gadget chargercan charge the Mini 2 from any USB charger sourceless expensivemuch quieterOcusync 2 with longer rangeWhere the original Mavic shines over the Mini 2more manual camera controlmore slomo optionsforward obstacle avoidanceThe Mini 2 feels like an upgrade over the original Mavic Pro. My new DJI Mini 2 Fly More Combo arrived last Friday. I had tried to download and install Fly app to my Motorola 6Play phone, but found out it was only a 32 bit OS, so it would not work only few devices are DJI approved but many will work. So I downloaded their pc app and day unit arrived unpacked and charged up all of the batteries and controller. Very impressed how well unit layout and flight case is designed, very small portable package with all 3 batteries, charger, extra props, tool, drone etc fitting in case size of medium set of binoculars.Few hours later I installed batteries and activated them. Whole process was simple and fast. I than for laughs attempted to download sdk of FLy app and install on cheap ONN 89 WalMart 10 inch Tablet, surprised it worked Did two flights one 20 minutes other flight was about 6 minutes to date. It Flies fantastic, incredibly stable even though on long flight day I was on house on side of mountain where winds were steady 15 mph gusting up to about 38 mph. Few times I had to put into sport mode when gusts hit, but it flew rock solid in those study 15 mph or slightly more winds.I was using large tablet and it would not fit into controller, so I have since ordered a tablet accessory for the controller arrives this Tuesday.Very happy with flight, incredibly stable even in strong winds. Incredibly quiet, literally doubt it was louder than 64 decibels hovering 5 feet away from me.I will be upgrading tablet to either Ipad or newer Samsung. My cheap tablet just lacks proper CPU and hardware to make video on screen refresh at good rate, plus has horrible battery life. Be sure you research DJI recommended hardware for phones compatible with FLY app before purchase. I am leaning towards tablet listed below to use with it.BH as always offered fast shipping and incredibly great service as always.httpswww.bhphotovideo.comcproduct1490742REGsamsungsmt860nzaaxar105galaxytab6.html

If you are on the fence about purchasing this drone just buy it. I waited too long and did not realize what i was missing. Ive had it in 20mph winds and its rock solid. The camera is phenomenal for its size and that battery life is very good. I would reccomend the Ipad Mini Gen5 instead of a phone. I used my S20 for a couple weeks but realized the Ipad is much much better. I truly cant recommend this drone enough. As far as accessories go I recommend a landing pad and a hard case. Vcutech makes an amazing hardcase just for this drone and its amazing.

Disclaimer This product was received in exchange for an honest review. The DJI Mini 2 is my first real experience with a drone and Im having a blast. I am no expert in drone flying but found the basics of the Mini 2 easy to get the hang of quickly. The controls are very reminiscent of video game controls and the basic functions are pretty intuitive. So, I would says this is a great drone for beginners. The app includes multiple instructional videos to help you get started, with subjects such as your first flight, camera controls, editing functions and photography tips. This particular combo pack comes with all the accessories a beginner might not realize they need. Included are 2 extra batteries, a charging pack, extra propeller blades, the remote control and a carrying bag that holds it all.So, this thing is tiny. I expected it to be small, but the name mini is very appropriate. All folded up Id say the drone is roughly the size of a roll of toilet paper, for lack of a better example. It only takes up a little more than a third of the available space in the carrying case, which itself is pretty mini. Fully opened, the drone takes up about as much area on a table as a laptop computer. Because of this size, the Mini 2 is quite portable. All bundled in its carrying case, it is like having a small camera bag over your shoulder. Also, it is my understanding that because this drone is so small and lightweight, there is no need to register it. Of course, check your local regulations just to be on the safe side. Were I an adventure blogger or nature photographer or something along those lines, I can imagine having the Mini 2 Fly More Combo being a goto tool for hard to reach and dramatic shots. The Mini 2 sports a camera with 4K video resolution up to 30fps. To be honest, I wasnt overly impressed with the quality of video Ive been able to capture thus far. I see the designation 4K and I envision ridiculously lush colors and super fine detail. On the other hand, in the week Ive had to review this item the local weather has been cold and dreary not to mention it is the middle of Autumn and everything is gray. When flying the drone slowly video capture is very nice, but if you put some velocity behind it there is quite a bit of motion blur. What did impress me though, was how steady the camera was. I expected some shaky shots when coming to a quick stop from full speed, but the video stayed smooth and level. I will include a picture or two, but I feel they may not be good representations of what the camera is capable of because the weather hasnt been very agreeable this past week with a lot of rain and cold temperatures. My favorite feature so far is the 360 degree photo. The drone will hover and take multiple photos, stitch them together to give to a picture you can rotate around 360 degreesControlling the Mini 2 is pretty straightforward. Youll need a smart phone with the DJI Fly app installed, which you attach to the remote control via the included USB or lightning cable. Updown on the left stick controls your altitude, while leftright controls direction. On the right stick updown is forward and backward while pushing leftright controls strafing. If you grew up playing Goldeneye on the Nintendo 64 itll seem very familiar. My only wish would be controller customization. I would prefer forwardbackward to be on the left stick and altitude on the right. This may be possible for all I know, I just havent figured it out yet. Unfortunately, your phone must be connected to the remote control to adjust settings in the app. Not a huge deal, just an inconvenience. Another small annoyance about connecting your phone is the included cable. The connector is at a short right angle, so if you have a phone case then you must remove it before you can insert the cable.Aside from the basic controls there are a couple of nice additional features. You can use Auto Takeoff to get your drone airborne and hover a little over a meter in the air. The advantage to this escapes me so far, as pressing up on the left control stick does the same thing. Theres also the ReturntoHome button that will call your drone back to your position. Just be sure there is a clear path between you and your drone, as it will return to you in a straight line without detecting obstacles. I have some trees in my area, so I have been too apprehensive to test this feature out at this point. In the end, I find the DJI Mini 2 to be a fun hobby drone, especially for beginners. It is super lightweight and portable, very easy to use, few regulations to adhere to, and a quality build.

In order to use the drone, the buyer is forced by DJI to use 100 literally the WORST iPhone app I have ever used.During takeoff the app will show popups that cover the screen that require you to take both hands off of the remote control in order to dismiss think reading, scrolling, tiny checkboxes. There are not alternative ways of controlling the drone because DJI do not allow 3rd party apps for THIS DRONE in particular. Other DJI drones do not have this limitation. It is a pity because the hardware is so cool and very well designed. But the user is forced to interact with this through the worst iOS app I have ever used.I would absolutely return this to Best Buy if I werent two weeks outside the return window. I stuck with the drone for 2 weeks because I thought I just needed to learn the tricks. But every single app firmware update adds more infuriating restrictions e.g. right now my drone will not leave a 30m radius of me, because theres a new thing somewhere that I must sign into, which I was notified about only after launching the drone, and the next update will add another sloppilydelivered restriction. It just really sucks. This could be such a cool product, but the software interface is inchangeable and ruins enjoyable flights.

This drone is ideal for aerial video and photography. Having upgraded from the original mini I can say this is a big improvement on an already impressive bit of kit. Its worth investing in this fly more bundle as the extra batteries give you plenty of time in the air and a bag to carry everything. The drone is very easy to fly even for a beginner and the 4K video looks fantastic. The new controller gives a stronger signal and being under 250g there are less restrictions on flights currently.

When we first tried it out we were absolutely amazed. The images are so sharp and the colors are so spot on that it does make the world, with all its animals and nature in it, look amazing. I wish I could put the film in here for you to watch, so my point is proven We are using it for filming horses at work, of course they need to get used to the sound and movements. And that was not a problem as this device can zoom in big time The horses dont even notice that its there and that way it is save to film them at work. For the up close and personal images you dont need to have it as close as you would think, at approx. 20 meters it has very scharp images and pictures with 1080P4x zoom. in 2 words wonderful device

Argos is quicker in a pandemic than before The fastest ive ever collected by a mileGreat drone, much better so far than the original mini.RAW Images, Zoom on the lens, 4K video, longer range and much more stable signal between drone and controller. If saving RAW images get a larger micro SD card 128Gb as 6 images would be 100Mb. A fast card would be ideal too as the video transfer rate is 100mbsec which might struggle writing to an older card.

This is the best starter drone you can get that is also fullfeatured. If you just want to fly and dont care about photography there may be cheaper ones, but the quality of the video and photography is downright amazing for something so small. As an owner of a Mavic 2 Pro, this is even a great backup drone for when lugging the larger bag around isnt convenient. It is also a great drone to learn on since it is so userfriendly.I highly recommend the flymore kit as the extra batteries really make it the perfect kit for someone going on a daytrip with it.

I love it. The distance it flies in a rural town could be better. I only average 1500 feet on my property, compared to the claim of 10k feet. Out in the south hills, i can get close to 4k feet if at a high enough elevation to see everything. I do not need data service to fly it as well, which is nice. I was worried about that.Setup was a little convoluted, as the app needed is not on google play and I had to navigate to a foreign website, and allow 3rd party apps to be installed in my phone settings. But the drone itself is very easy to fly. I have never owned a drone before and havent crashed it yet.Batteries last between 15 and 25 minutes depending on the mode i select.

This is my first DJI drone, coming from a parrot anafi, and the difference is staggering. DJIs app is easier to use and more intuitive with better controls the form factor and design of the drone is better executed the controller and packaging are way better and the range blows the competition out of the waterThe Fly More Combo is a fantastic value so I highly recommend going that route if you are considering this drone. The carrying case is nice quality and has storage for the drone, batteries, charger, controller, along with all the cables and spare parts with room to spare. I also keep the old phone Ive converted to my drone controller in there and still have room. The battery charger is an elegant solution. It houses all 3 batteries at once and has indicator lights showing where the charge is on each as they all charge at the same time keeping you ready to fly.The drone itself weighs almost nothing and is about the size of your palm folded up, making it extremely portable. But even with that light weight, it holds its own in winds up to 25mph. I flew it at almost 400ft in 1520mph winds and had no issues with control or taking stable shots. And this thing takes beautiful shots and video in 4k resolution, with 2x lossless zoom and 4x digital zoom. I recommend taking the full picture and cropping it later for best results but you can zoom if you prefer. You can also take panorama, 180 or sphere photos. Want some cool video effects Try boomerang, circle, rocket, helix and dronie modes. Literally unbelievable how many things you can do with this small drone.Taking off is as easy as touching a button. When it lifts off, it will rise to 34ft and hover in place and record that spot. From that point on, when youre ready to have the drone come back to you, just hit the Return to Home button and it will return to that spot. One thing to note, this drone does NOT have obstacle avoidance, so make sure you set the altitude you want the drone to return at to avoid trees or other obstacles. If the biggest thing around you is a 100ft tree stand, set the RTH at 150ft to be safe. That will keep it at that altitude until its directly overhead its RTH spot, at which point it will come straight down.If you havent flown a drone before, the tutorials built into the app are outstanding for teaching the basics and about some of the more advanced features. They include videos and step by step instructions, so definitely check them out if youre new to drone flying. My last drone would lose signal at 350ft and 5075yds down range. This one, under the same conditions, went over a mile away at 400ft and showed no signs of signal loss. The OcuSync technology vs the old wifi tech is night and day. This is especially important if youre flying in an area with lots of wifi or other radio interference, such as suburban areas or cities. And you dont need to register this drone with the FAA or go through any licensing. Its size and weight dont qualify it for that. The geofencing technology built in will also help beginners with not taking off in restricted zones or violating airspace using the built in GPS.Overall, I cant recommend this drone highly enough for just about anyone. It takes amazing photos and videos, handles the wind fantastically for its size and weight, and the new OcuSync 2.0 technology is legit. This is hands down the best drone you will find at this price point or below, and its better than some others above this price point. Unless youre a professional who needs something crazy for commercial use, this is the drone you should buy.

The DJI Mini 2 is an exceptional drone. Its well suited for those just getting started with drones but will likely be enjoyed by enthusiasts as well.Im sure one thing that both beginners and enthusiasts will love is the incredible portability and size of the Mini 2. One of the more appealing parts of the Mini 2 is the fact that its small size and weight make it possible to fly without having to register or get a license. I think I have older TV remotes that are larger than it when folded up. The Fly More package makes that even more clear. When you open the box, everything is already neatly packed in the camera bag, just as youd have it if you were packing it up yourself. With everything you need, and then some all packed up neatly in a small camera bag. Theres even plenty of room left for any other accessories you may want to add to your kit.Once youve gotten past how small and light the Mini 2 is, your next step is setup. Which is also very easy. You just slip your phone into the retractable controller and plug it in with the included cable and turn on both the controller and drone. Pairing the two worked seamlessly for me, and I was ready to go in just a few minutes after opening the box. Getting up and running, and ready to start shooting is easy enough on its own, but there are some great quick video tutorials you can watch when you first fire up the app that streamline the process even more. These introduce you to some of the app and drones features, as well as some general tips. They also make the drone feel less intimidating. Which would be great for someone just getting started.Takeoff is very simple. Once youre ready, you just hold the takeoff button in the app, and the Mini 2 will start ascending to a few feet off the ground. After flying around and getting a bit more familiar with the drone, I was excited to try out the Return to Home feature. Basically, you set your home point and if the Mini 2 loses its signal, or youve lost your way, you can do a long press on the Return to Home button on the controller and the drone will return to the place it was launched from. This worked very well in my experience, often getting within a couple of feet of the launch spot or better. At the very least getting back to where I could take over and safely land, if I wasnt comfortable where it was attempting to land itself. I found myself using this feature often. Not because the drone lost its signal, or I didnt know where it was. It was just convenient to let it handle the return flight on its own. Another cool part of the Return to Home feature is that you can set an altitude for it to reach before comes back. This is great if youre in an area with trees or something you want to make sure the drone clears before attempting to return. You just set the altitude high enough to clear those taller objects and let the Mini 2 do its thing.Again, Im just impressed with the Mini 2 all around. Its camera and video quality are also very good. Capable of shooting 4k at 30fps in this tiny package and at this quality is incredible. It also offers the ability to shoot at 1080p up to 60fps with a 2x zoom, but I mostly stick with the 4k resolution. It is nice to have the 60fps option though, if you intend to do some slowdownhalfspeed effects. The photos come out very crisp, and Ive been in disbelief at how well the Mini 2 can hold its position and shoot multiple exposures that can be combined for an HDR image. While were talking about its features, I have to mention the Quick Shots. These make short work out of shots that Im sure professionals struggle to get. Shots like rotating smoothly around or pulling away steadily while focusing on a subject. The app makes these so easy to do. You just select your subject by tapping on them if its a person or drawing a selection around an area. It does a fantastic job of staying focused on them and performing complicated movements around them. Truly excellent stuff.I could probably talk about the Mini 2 all day. I really love this thing. It helps eliminate barriers that some may have about getting into drone photography or video and makes short work of some otherwise complicated tasks.Pros Very easy to use, quick to get started, excellent image quality, packed full of useful and wellthought features, excellent rangeCons I think the only thing you could really have against the Mini 2 is maybe the battery life. It may require you to do a bit of planning, but hasnt been an issue for me at all yet. The 30 minutes per battery is more than enough to go get some shots and return to swap them out if necessary. I do wish it had more object detection sensors around the drone, but thats tough to complain about at this price.

The drone is amazing. Great quality DJI loses a point on after sale service. I crashed my first drone and looked to buy a replacement aircraft…..impossible.Called DJI and they said I had to send it in to be looked at. I let her know that 1. I didnt buy the refresh care kit, and 2. I readily admitted it was my fault. She said it didnt matter, I had to send it in.This is just ridiculous on the part of DJI. I needed the drone for business and couldnt wait weeks to get a replacement, so I ended up buying a whole new kit.Ill be going with something else next time I think….a company that doesnt hold you at Ransome….

The word Awesome when describing this drone and its capabilities, falls so short of describing how great it is Lighter than my cell phone, with better video than I can get with a tripod on the ground, but it is so stable, even in windy conditions, the mini 2 is like having a camera on a 300 foot tall tripod.Capable of so many great things, but only a third of the cost of the top consumer level DJI drones. Flying is great and so easy to do compared to previous drone of another brand. It has been so forgiving that when I accidentally hit a power line at about 30 feet high, it started to fall, but corrected itself and kept flying. After dozens of flights, Im still using the original set of quiet props. Signal is superb along with range. Batteries are great, glad the flymore combo came with 3 to get more flights in. Whether using a phone or tablet, controls are easy and consistent. And after updating the firmware, got the bonus of zoom Photo below is cropped to 13 width and height. So nice..

This is a dream drone Its perfect to stash in a pocket or small pack. Its easy to deploy and get airborne, to get those shots that a handheld camera cannot. I also like that there are a few built in quick shot moves that give you a great cinematic appearance. The only downside is because of its size it is slightly more susceptible to higher wind. This is not a deal breaker, simply something to consider. Overall i am very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it

Top off the batteries and GO What a great machine for beginners or experienced drone pilots. Easy to control from the first moment as it takes of and then hovers, waiting for your commands. I felt comfortable with the controls after just a couple of minutes and was able to fly it even in tight quarters, although I would always recommend being outside so the gps functions can assist you.I would strongly suggest the Fly More combo as it gives you everything you need in one compact package. This is well worth the moderate investment. Also, the 4k camera takes fantastic shots

I shoot a lot of fitnessnutrition videos and Im always looking to condense the sizeamount of equipment I need to carry. This little beauty is an amazing tool for getting some great material Extremely light and compact, I can throw it in my bag and just go without worrying about regulations or registering. With any drone, I am always nervous about risky flying. Will it come back Will the battery fail The first thing I immediately noticed on takeoff was how steady the Mini 2 was. No wavering. No drifting. Just up and still. This immediately put me at ease. the DJI Academy videos in app helped increase confidence with easy to follow instructions and diagrams, although I wish it just showed mini 2. There were a few times I was reading only to discover it was a vid specific to the Mavic 2. But, still very useful. Ok, some details.Flight very smooth and responsive. Even at higher altitudes with wind, the controls remained intuitive. In all three modes of flight, I had no issues getting the anglesshots that I wanted.Camera Crisp. From the still shots to the video, I am impressed with how clean the content looks. The gimbal is amazing. The shot included was easily 100 feet up with some decent wind. Whether video or shots, no blur or jagged angles. Even the lossless zoom was impressive.Controller Very sturdy and well made. Button layout s intuitive and easy to learn. And should you prefer, when connected to your phone, you can use the app touchscreen to perform many of the basic functions.Battery They say 31 minutes, and yes, I was average that with each flight. Obviously the more modes I used, the time decreased. But, when I just sent it up and let it hover, I got plenty of flight time. With this coming with 3 batteries, I can get quite a bit of content before needing to recharge.Shooting modes I wont go into detail about the app as it has been fairly standard for the dji family, but the shooting modes is where there is the most promise and also, my most prominent letdown. For the modes they have several iconic shooting setups. From circling the subject, to quick zoom outup to a cool boomerang. All fun with a unique spin to each. A great palette for content creation differentiation. Now, the letdown. With all of these modes, you have to set a subject of focus for each scenario and for 2030 seconds, the mini 2 will execute the pattern of your choice. With such a great plethora of choices, its disappointing that you cant just have the drone follow you. I simply wanted to let it hover, lock on me, and keep in on me. This drone doesnt have the accident sensors, so I can understand why the feature may have been omitted, but being that target locking is needed for the Quickshot modes, it doesnt seem like a is stretch to toggle this option for an advanced user. This is enough to drop my rating to 4 12 if halves were allowed. This is what stops this from being the perfect cameraman on the go. But, close enough. So, in closing, this is an excellent companion for portable high quality content creation. And minus the tracking, the modes provided combined with the amazing stability warrants this as a strong recommendation.

Ive been interested in buying a drone for several years, however it wasnt until the Mini 2 came along that I actually took the leap. As someone who never flew a drone before, I found it quite easy to fly. The small size and weight dont have to register it with the FAA, 4K video, and the capability of shooting raw photos is what made me finally purchase my first drone. The image quality is good you cant compare it to a DSLR, though there is quite a bit of lens flare when facing the sun. The only thing to keep in mind is it doesnt have any obstacle avoidance sensors minus those on the bottom for landing to keep you from running into anything, so its all on you. In 3540F weather Ive been getting about 20 minutes of flying time before the warning goes off when I hit 20 battery. All in all, this is an awesome little tool to get those shots you never could have before

Excellent value, great first camera drone. The price compared to other similarly featured products will make you buy it. The performance will make you keep it.Very easy to fly, very reliable. Can be piloted by anyone, even kids. 12 and up, Id say… dont give this to your 5 year old as a toy, theyll just break it.The AircraftThe goodThe drone itself is very light, almost feels too light without the battery. But remember, this is something designed to be this way. It is not cheaply made, but you will be surprised if youve not held one this small before. It holds its position well in the air during day or night operation make sure to stick an approved white or red strobe light on if youre flying at night. It can be flown indoors I recommend aftermarket prop guards for this, and provided lighting is adequate hovers without GPS using its visual sensors fairly reliably. The camera is great. Its no 4000 camera, more equivalent to a highend smartphone or a tad better, honestly, but what were you expecting for 500 Its a flying camera.SD slot is on the back of the drone, easily accessible. No fuss. Right below the battery compartment. The drone can be used as a battery charger via a USBC cable and charger, in case you forget the included charging hub.Flight time is as advertised, but be aware, it is obviously affected by wind, etc. Operation conditions and how you fly affect energyThe drone holds position even in a light breeze well. The badIt lacks sensors like an infrared camera, collision sensors on the sides and frontback and top. Its a sub1000 drone though, and really, you should not be letting this thing out of your sight, anyways, so I dont think this should cost the thing any points but its worth mentioning. If you were expecting a Skydio drone feature set for 600 with accessories, youre going to be disappointed. It lacks the orientation redgreen lights that some of the higher end drones have, which can be helpful for seeing the drones orientation in duskdark situations. It does have a small light on the bottom and a small light on the front, however. The camera and gimbal are so small and light weight that I worry about it, sometimes. Make sure to use the included camera gimbal guard while the drone is not in use That said, its never let me down yetThe oddIt took me about 10 times using the thing to get used to how it unfolds, and how to hold it, etc. It just felt… odd. This isnt necessarily a bad thing I suppose, but I feel like the directions could have been better. The Control SystemThe goodThe remote control with the builtin phone holder feels solid in your hands. Its a bit chunky compared to the previous model shipped with DJIs older Mavic Mini and such, however, not in a bad way at all.The remote, when folded, holds the included connection cable of which you have 3 to choose from when you originally set everything up, Lightning, Micro USB, and USBC nicely tucked away, so you dont lose it in the field. The application DJI Fly for interfacing your phone with the controller is fairly decent. Works with most 64bit Android devices, and Im told all recent iOS devices. I have a Moto G Stylus and it has worked fine. The range is impressive. Basically no latency for way farther a distance than you could possibly need to fly such a small drone. Your eyes wont be able to keep track of it well before the radio link starts to fade under normal conditions. The control systems geofencing works well. I live near Redstone Arsenal in Alabama. When flying near any restricted zone, if you try to go too close 30 meters from the marked area on the map, it will alert you and stop you. Its like hitting an invisible wall. I realize some people may consider this a bad thing, however unless you enjoy visits calls from the government, it is a very good thing. Its great to be able to fly without worrying that youre going to stray into restricted airspace accidentally, especially when youre first starting out. And if youre buying this for your kids, its just one more peace of mind feature. The badThe builtin phone holder on the top is a bit small though if you have a large phone with a case on it. You might need to purchase one of the many available device holder accessories if this is the case. Personally, Ive been just taking my phone case off, but this does cost me another 30 seconds to get everything ready to go. I wish they had somehow made this just 10mm bigger, and it would have been great. The application DJI Fly has crashed a few time. One of these was my fault I overtaxed the phone running too much crap, I believe. ALL of these times, the application was able to be restarted without an issue, and I was able to resume normal operation, video link and all. This is less alarming than it sounds if you are following the FAA rules, as you can still pilot the drone while the application is dead using the control sticks. It suffers no issues in responsiveness, etc. You just lose the video feed and instrument data while you restart the application. My advice Close other apps and reboot your phone before setting up to fly. The oddThe way the sticks hide in the bottom of the remote. It doesnt seem like it would work, but it does. I feel like its super weird. The AccessoriesThe goodIncluded accessories are as describedYoull appreciate the 3 batteries and charging hub. This has really made it a lot more fun to fly, since you can always land, swap out a battery, and keep going if you werent finished yet.The bag is great, holds everything it came with. Its not a 100 hard case, but if youre nice about carrying it around its adequate to protect the drone while you drive or hike to and from a location.Plenty of space to store some paperwork in there, too albeit folded up, if you need some notepads for checklists, or perhaps licensing paperworkThe badIts not a hard case. Do not set things on top of this when packing, etc.The oddMy dumb self did not find the spare props and other cables in the top zipper pocket. I almost bought spares because I had figured the kit was missing them for some reason. This is… my fault.Everyone should know before buyingEven though the drone weighs under 250g, if you are going to use this for commercial purposes read literally anything other than haha look at it go, you WILL need to get your Part 107 license from the FAA which will cost you, assuming you need no test prep materials 200 at bare minimum, a TSA background check, and a few days of your time AND register the drone. The ONLY situation where you do not need to register this drone is if you are flying for recreational purposes only. The FAA now Requires you to pass the free TRUST test and carry proof of it with you before flying for recreation. Its free, though, and you can take it online. Its not a test, really. It just makes you read through the rules.

Im so glad I bought this drone It is very easy to fly, and Im super impressed by the highquality video transmitted back to the controller. Even when I was controlling the drone from more than a mile away, the video was crystal clear.I seriously considered buying the DJI Mini 2 since it is significantly cheaper. However, I dont have a single regret about spending the extra money for the Mavic Air 2. This drone has object avoidance, which means it knows what is in front of it and behind it. If you try to fly your drone into a wall, it will stop in its tracks. This greatly reduces the risk of crashing. However, its worth remembering that object avoidance does not detect any obstacles to the left and right. If youre flying around obstacles, its a good idea to enable safe flight. This disables flying left and right. Instead, you have to turn the aircraft and then fly straight. The Mavic Air 2 also has subject tracking. This makes it easy to record yourself walking through the park, riding your bike, etc. Just tell the drone to follow you, and start movingIf you can afford it, theres no way you will be disappointed with this drone.

Ive been using this a lot for my YouTube channel. I have never owned a drone before. DJI makes this first step so seamless with how easy it is to fly this thing. It goes a fair distance and the 3 batteries do last a decent amount. Id say at Max height and a fair distance away, youre looking at about 21 minutes when switching with all 3 batteries and filming at 4K60p. Of course, lower quality video and shorter distances will help you extend the battery usage.Just always check the weather app and understand that if the wind is 12mph15mph, youre going to struggle to fly this because its so light.

First, the Mini 2 is a whole nother animal from the Mini 1. Faster, stronger, better imaging, lighter. It is a night and day difference. But with its strengths come some issues.Sport mode introduces some issues because of its speed. The gimbal can be jerked around at times and the increased pitch in the sport mode can intermittently get the propellers in the shot. This doesnt tend to happen in the Normal mode which is probably as quick or quicker than the sport mode on the Mini 1.The C Mode is much faster than the C mode on the Mini 1. 6 ms or 13mph. The problem is that the stick response isnt attenutated at all to fly smoothly at very low speeds and there is no EXP input curve adjustments to make it better. If you breathe on the sticks the drone will move, sometimes too much if youre just a little heavy handed in tight spaces.Size matters, and while the drone itself retains the old Mini 1 shape and size and even sheds a few grams, the controller, which was a good size in the Mini 1 and Mavic 2 models became a behemoth much heavier and larger than the Mini 1Mavic 2 models. It is the same controller as the Mavic Air 2 and could actually operate a MA2.The bag that comes with the Fly More kit is just meh. Nothing special and I will probably never use it. Unlike the Mini 1 where the Fly More kit was only 100 more and came with more goodies, the Mini 2 FlyMore kit has less stuff for 150 more. But IMO you should buy it any way because the batteries are now 55 instead of 35 that the Mini 1 batteries used to sell for until DJI jacked the price on those to 45. So two batteries would cost you 110 of the 150, then another 12 for the propellers, 15 for the charging brick, the silly bag and a few odds and ends. However at 600 for the whole kit for this level of drone isnt bad. I bought this drone kid from BH, because with their PayBoo card it saved me over 60 in tax which I would have paid at the local Best Buy or on Amazon. I appreciate having a first class retailer offer me this type of discount on big ticket items.FWIW I had a Mini 1 and also a Mavic 2 Pro. I bought the Mavic 2 because the Mini 1 could not fly securely in modest wind. The Mini 2 has 30 more power and would give me back half the number of days the Mini 1 kept me sidelined. Dont get me wrong, the Mavic 2 is still king of the mountain, but the Mini 2, and especially the Mavic Air 2 come close enough considering the big difference in prices. One last thing… This drone just came out and has some other quirks, such as needing IMU recalibration, some units not being able to refresh firmware. DJI got it mostly right, but IMO to be on time for XMAS they pushed the product out the door before all the bugs were worked out… But I think if you need a drone you should still buy it.

We were excited to fly the DJI Mini 2 Fly More package as we have had other drones in the past. We live on a ranch and can use this to look for livestock without leaving the porch The DJI Mini was super pleasing in many aspects. Flying was easy, smoother and more forgiving than older drones, control was excellent after about 10 minutes of practice, and battery life, when compared to the older drones Ive flown, and the commercial ones Ive seen used, was great. In moderate wind at altitude, with video going the entire time, the battery lasted at least three times as long as a drone from another manufacturer that was a couple of years old. By the time I changed batteries, I felt comfortable enough with the controls to fly under the covered porch area, and the stability was good. The drone did not seem to be impacted by ground effect instability as other, larger, drones. Whether that is related to the size, or the built in stability, I do not know. But it sure is fun to fly and the batteries last a long time in comparison with other drones I have. The video from the drone was excellent and very stable. At 160 feet or higher the winds started impacting flight. The gimble worked well, but I still struggle a bit with zooming in might be my hands. The package come with everything you need, including THREE batteries, a nifty carrying case and a nice size controller. The downside on the batteries is that they charge in series and not parallel, which adds a lot to the time to charge. The biggest downside was that the user manual and documentation was less than optimal. The quick start guide pamphlet has font and pictures that are way too small for my husband and I to see. The QR code in the box gave a number when I thought it might lead to online information. On the videos, they could have named them better, as I assumed First Flight would be watched right before flying, not before setting up. The application itself refers to prompts and icons, but the videos should give a longer look at these. Finally, the lightening connector for the iPhone is hard to use with a thick phone case as it has a 90degree bend.Overall, for the price this is a super nice drone. The machine itself gets a 5 rating. The documentation could really benefit from some editing and suggestions by users and not by engineers. If the paper docs were twice as large, it would be so much less frustrating. I was tempted to knock this review to a 4 because of the documentation, but this drone is really so nice to fly, I left it at a five.
