I am glad that I went with this lens. It offers crisp sharpness, beautiful color and bokeh renderings. The lens balances exceptionally well on my A7r II. The design of the lens is grand it is the perfect weight and length. In one hand, I had an A7r II with a Sony 24mm g master lens, and in the other, this lens with an A7r II, and there was no noticeable weight difference between the two setups, despite the 24mm being about 200 grams lighter. I am happy I went with the Sigma in lieu of the new Sony 35mm g master. Not only is it substantially less costly, but it captures more in the frame because it has a wider angle of view. Also, I chose this over the Sony FE 35mm 1.8 because of the wider aperture and design. You cant go wrong with the Art series.

Love this lens and the focal length. Sigma glass never disappoints in my opinion. Lens is sharp as a razor, great build quality and design although I wish it was a bit lighter. Also this is an amazing alternative to the 35mm GM and will save you a few hundred dollars. Worth every penny.

Ich bin noch im Besitz der alten 35mm 1.4 DG HSM Version und wollte mich nun ein wenig verbessern. Lange bin ich um das Sony 35mm 1.4 GM herum geschlichen, aber 1700 sind fr einen HobbyFotografen schon eine Hausnummer. Das Sigma Pendant kostet da einfach mal nur die Hlfte Nach langem hin und her habe ich mir hier bei Calumet dann doch das Sigma Objektiv bestellt. Ich bin nach ein paar Tests ziemlich begeistert und werde es deshalb auch behalten. Es ist im Vergleich zur HSM Version nur minimal kleiner und auch nicht wirklich sprbar leichter. Das wre fr mich der grte Vorteil vom GM, die Kompaktheit und das deutlich niedrigere Gewicht. Aber dafr soll ich dann den doppelten Preis bezahlen Die Verarbeitungsqualitt ist einwandfrei, das war sie aber auch schon bei der HSM Version. Das Objektiv hat jetzt zudem mehr Bedienelemente und ist endlich auch Staub und Wasserfest. Die Bildschrfe ist an meiner Alpha 7 III ber jeden Zweifel erhaben, es ist auch sichtbar schrfer, als die HSM Version. Aber diese fand ich schon damals mehr als ausreichend scharf und mir wre eine etwaige Unschrfe im Randbereich an meiner A7 III nie negativ aufgefallen. Kann sein, dass das GM noch etwas schrfer ist, besonders an einer A7 R IV oder A1 mit hoher MPZahl. Aber ich denke an einer A7 III, oder einer hoffentlich bald erscheinenden A7 IV mit gemunkelten 30MP reicht das Sigma locker aus. Das Bokeh ist wunderschn cremig, 11 Blendenlamellen sei dank und man kann das Objektiv auch problemlos bei Offenblende verwenden. Chromatische Abberationen sind in manchen extremen Situationen erkennbar, aber mittels Bildbearbeitungsprogramm gut in den Griff zu bekommen. Ich nutze brigens Capture One Pro, welches kein eigenes Korrekturprofil fr das Objektiv besitzt. Man muss dort das Herstellerprofil verwenden und den Verzeichnungsregler auf Hundert ziehen, dann deckt sich das Ergebnis 1 zu 1 mit dem JPEG, welches ja das interne Korrekturprofil der Kamera verwendet. Mit o.g. Vorgehensweise sind etwaige Verzeichnungen nicht mehr vorhanden. Ohne Korrektur fallen die Verzeichnungen schon etwas ins Auge, besonders bei Architektur Aufnahmen. Fazit Kaufempfehlung Wer es sich leisten kann und will, soll zum GM greifen. Das GM wird bei der Bildqualitt sicherlich noch eine 850 Schippe drauf legen. Fr den HobbyFotografen und sicherlich auch fr den einen oder anderen Profi aber ist das Sigma m.M.n. mehr als ausreichend. Seien wir mal ehrlich, 850 ist auch schon eine Menge Geld fr eine Festbrennweite, aber das Sigma ist es wert. Ps Wie viele andere Fotografen habe ich mir auch vor dem Kauf diverse YouTube Videos der gngigen InfluencerKanle zu Gemte gefhrt. Ein bestimmter Kanal hat das Sigma dabei ganz besonders in der Luft zerrissen und den Unschrfeverlauf im Nahbereich bemngelt. Das hat mich Anfangs sehr verunsichert. Ich konnte diesen Fehler aber nicht reproduzieren, bzw fllt dieser angebliche Fehler bei meiner Art der Fotografie nicht ins Gewicht. Ich finde die Rezession im Nachhinein betrachtet sehr bertrieben und auch etwas arg reierisch. Aber was tut man nicht alles, um Aufmerksamkeit zu bekommen
