Excellent resource to have in the kitchen, whether its cooking, cleaning up, or just having a drink or two I can get what I need. Recipes with video, music with lyrics, or controlling the lights to set the mood. I cant say enough good things about this. Volume output is great, wish it was a bit more waterproof as mine is in the kitchen, but I just need to get a screen protector and Ill be on my way.

Pros Sturdy and neat looking. Good screen quality.Cons Needs a smartphone app to configure it. Loss of Google Play Music means there is no comparable music manager available YouTube music has several shortcomings. Unless forced through a specific collection, Google censors photos meaning it decides if it thinks they do not have sufficient quality to display.

Love this Ive automated my living room and bedroom lights and have great fun turning them on and off with my voice. Google AI is great, the voice is a bit robotic but thats a small niggle. Integrated well with my phone android note 10 and my smart plugs. Very easy to set up. Im planning on getting more for my kitchen and bedroom.

So, the hub gets what I say better than any other device. So much better that Siri. I appreciate when Im half asleep I can just slur out, hey Google, turn off the bedroom lights and a second later the lights are out. I have smart lights I like to stream delta waves sleep music while I sleep. And listen to asmr sleep video as I am falling asleep. If there is a way of doing this directly from the hub, I can not figure it out. I have tried so many ways, looked it up on the web. You can cast from a phone or tablet to it. But so far every time I try that it drops half way through and doesnt pick up again. The list of suggested videos that pops up is a mystery to me. Hello what I was interested in 4 years ago. What about what Ive been searching for recently. Im sure these issues will be worked out later. But I wont be buying any for other rooms, like the makeup area or kitchen until searching for you tube videos gets better. I go to work when theres no traffic, so a lot of what people love, its abilities to give you agenda, traffic info, news, I dont really care about

Pros Great product. Very responsive. It understands better than Alexa. And has more featuresCons When compared to the echo show alexa from amazon. The speaker is way better on the echo show. The bass is very poor on the google hub. Its ok for podcastschat shows but not so much for music. Shame cause other than that its a brilliant product.

WORST SUPPORT IN ALL OF HISTORY Since Google doesnt allow any of their products to be reviewed directly on google, or on the google store, here is my review of google homechromecast ONLY in regards to their customer support… your agents provide inaccurate instructions, and are ill informed. They are barely understandable, hang up on customers, avoid surveys, and make NO attempts to make things right supervisors included. I had an agent receiving a facebook call while we were on the line we all know what the facebook messenger ringtone sounds like and tried to deny it happened at all, stating they are not allowed to receive facebook calls while working Although Amazons smart home products are extremely inferior, I will be switching to them because at least they provide intelligent support, that is sympathetic, and goes the extra mile to make their customers feel like they are cared about. Goodbye Google smart devices I own 3 google homes, and 3 chromecasts. They will live in the landfill as of next Tuesday

Pros Easy to set up. Can do loads of things. Tells you things like your calendar, reminders, shopping lists, answers questions etc, etc, etc… with add ons you can control your heating, lighting, security cameras etc… in and away from home.Cons With reminders, it tells you you have a reminder but not what it is, the reminder description is shown on the screen. You have to ask it a second time what the reminder is for. Bought one for my elderly parent for reminders, but theyre struggling with it, would help if it told you straight off what the reminder was for.

The hub arrived in packaging that was in great condition and setup was very easy. Glad I finally made this purchase. I might have to figure out how to make it so when I address my phone to make a phone call that the hub doesnt follow through. The receiver of that call saw No Caller ID. But I could talk to them from across my kitchen which was cool, I didnt need to carry my phone or run for my earbuds, but most people I know dont answer unknown numbersmissing info. Other than that, its been great to have music playing in my bathroom and kitchen at the same time as I get ready in the morning. The audio isnt the most beautiful, but its satisfying enough and LOUD.

I dont know if its the nest hub or the home app. Anytime I ask it to do something it executes the action both on my phone and the hub. If I want music playing now I have it playing on both devices, and not in sync. Speaker groups are hard to use and clunky. Executing commands to move the sound to a speaker group often ends in an error. Its hard to connect to the device and play music directly from your phone. It gets easily confused if you send it too many actions in a row. You never know what command will win. Connecting it with Bluetooth speakers is very hard and cant be included in speaker groups.Support is worthless. Theyll ask you to do a factory reset and then after it still not working theyll decide the functionality isnt supported. So many times it just stops playing music. With no idea as to why or what happened. If it lost internet connectivity you should tell me that.so many people saying Alexa is better. I wish I would have went that route.

Amazing device This far exceeded my expectations. I linked it to my pair of Google Home Minis and got relatively good sound quality But I must say that for those who want superior sound quality, you may be a little disappointed. My advice is to buy a Google Home speaker or, better yet, a Google Home Max speaker, in which case you will get really good sound Besides the relatively weak sound I emphasize relatively, because it still has decent sound, this device simply has no drawbacks. I will not describe all the features you can easily find them on the page of this device in the Google store. To summarize, if you are looking for a smart assistant and also a multimedia entertainment device, then do not hesitate to buy this magnificent device, especially since now you can find it at an extremely attractive price

I went with the google because I read that it can bring up YouTube for you by voice command, but it wont bring up YOUR videos. It wont bring up your YouTube library or anything It only gives you googles liberal propaganda videos I even tried to give it the EXACT video name and the channel…still only got google propaganda It wont even let you go on googles own search engine to get into your YouTube account What Im getting an Amazon show. Yeah, you have to open the search engine and go into your google account that way, but at least you CAN get your own channel

I have yet to rate this product, but after having the Amazon Alexa and being disappointed with the product being complicated. I have Google products already and chose to continue with Google products. I have several, chrome cast, minis, Google Home and decided to get the Google Hub. Im a where of the Google Hub Max, but decided to get this product and try out. I do not need loud sound, but just a nice sound. The products work well and good response. I ordered Google hub to have better control of the system over my tablet. So, once received. Ill give additional response to the quality of product.

Great little device for a very good price. Well worth the investment. Wanted it as we couldnt hear the nest hello doorbell in the kitchen. We can now see whos at the front door everytime it rings now. Photo frame function is great as you can link it to your google photos account and see all your memories. My elderly mother loves it. Also tells her the temperature and weather which she finds useful.

Pros Looks very stylish and modern. Really nice and large large screen.Very easy to use and looks smart by my bed. It has several uses where you can have it as an alarm clock, have your family photos on there as well.Ylu cna chill out with your favourite music playing.I got this in the sale so the price was amazing Well worth the money.Cons My only down side with this, is the volume could be a bit better as it would b enicer if it could be louder like a speaker.Im sure with technology constantly improving.

When the Google Home Hub was first released, I was a bit skeptical about its real usefulness in everyday life. If I really needed something like this, I could simply get a cheap galaxy tab, plop it on my desk and call it a day. However, after receiving the product, it is clear why such a product was made. One of the most defining features of this device, while it might sound underwhelming, is the ambient mode. It dims the screen and changes its tone to match it to its surroundings. It does this feat so well that I constantly looked at the screen from different angles because it looked like an eink display. Not only this, but its integrations with other google home devices, like the google home or home mini allow you to stream music to multiple speakers at once, effectively creating a surround sound system within your room. Calendars like always are synced to all Google devices, so the Google Home Hub is able to act as a really convenient window to all your Google necessities. Not to mention its ability to watch Youtube videos. Its speaker, while lacking in bass compared to the Google Home has really crisp high and mids. Therefore, if you use home group use both the Home Hub and the Home together to listen to music it creates an listening experience that would satisfy most hobby grade audiophiles. All in all, I think this was a solid purchase and I see myself using this until the far future.

This Hub was purchased to help with the start of my smart home transformation. I have found it to be very user friendly. I went with the Google Hub because I currently use that platform the most. I also found it be economical compared to other similar products. Very happy with my purchase.

I found BJs pricing of the Google Nest 2 pack to be the best deal for the money. The smaller screen size allows this Nest to fit nicely on a bedside table and in our kitchen without dominating the space around it. Google makes this really easy to setup in the home, and intuitive in connecting to other smart devices. The depth of sound that comes from this size Nest is enough to fill the area with music from Pandora or Google music. Since my purchase of the Google Nest 2 pack, installing smart dimmer switches and smart outlets now work by voice control in every room through out the house. Its seamless, its easy, and BJs makes it affordable and wellworth it.

Bought this to replace our Alexa set up as was better and great value due to black friday offers. We have this set up in our bedroom and it works wonderfully as a clock, digital photo frame as well as turning our Hue lights onoff around the home. Its quicker than what we are used to and responds well. So far. Love the fact the screen is interactive and shows you lots of information as well as just talking to you. It is really personable also so you can depict what you want it to tell you in the mornings ect. Absolutely love it, so much so got another one for the other side of the bed but just muted it, but great for a nice looking clock and digi frame not sure id of done this out side of a great offer price however

Pros Having used alexa for a bit Ive struggled to get to grips with google which is strange as I felt this was going to be so much better but its just different. Love the design, love I can scroll all my photos on it, love its clever enough to tell you the weather tomorrow rather than right then when you go to bed.Cons Shouldnt be tied into music services ie just deezer or spotify. The app interface is poor compared to alexa. I like the tab approach where I can easily find my shopping list on Alexa. The app isnt as useful on google.Missing the concept of the skills to know what I can do. Im sure it can do what I want but Im quite tech savvy and when it was pulled out the box I was right what now But Im getting used to it but knowing what you can do and a revamp of the app would be great.

Love this device. Its small but not too small. The screen is a nice step up from the mini. Easy to set up and link to my existing Google Home account. Havent tried the more sophisticated offering of smart controls. I use this in my kitchen so my shopping list is always easy to update, get recipes and listen to news while cooking. I use is so much cant imagine going back to pen and paper.

Got this a while back on black Friday and i can say it is a very handy unit . I had the google mini before but i found this one with a display was way better as the google mini was constantly using my TV to show me things. Now i get everything in one unit and i can keep the tv off. It entertains my kids and offers a lot of functionality. It makes a great night stand unit too. It is a better alternative for any smart clock as well.

I bought this product last month and I am very happy with the product. Along with the main features of displaying pics and playing videos, this has many other features which are also very helpful. For ex This product can be used as Alarm clock or as a speaker for playing music. Please note that the sound quality of this product is really nice.Definitely recommend this product.

Discovered Monoprice and their fantastic pricing far below the MSRP of this item. Was shopping because famous jungle river retailer promotes their gear and doesnt offer Google stuff AFAIK. Glad I found Monoprice, loved the speedy delivery in addition to the best pricing The Google Home Hub appears to offer a lot of features, and was quite easy to set up using my Android smartphone. Being a Google boy, I am already hooked up with Google Calendar, YouTube, Google Music, and so on. I had read a lot of chatter about the competitor product bombarding users with promotional ads and what I can do messages without being asked to and though this unit might do that in future, so far its not an issue, at least as I have it set up. I like that I can listen to music, check weather and much more by saying Hey Google, and it already recognizes my voice from my SmartPhones prior voicetraining. Music sound is more than acceptable for its size, much like a table clock radio. I have the fullscreen clock in use, the only downside is that the default clock and temp the size of the characters is too small, and no way to enlarge them HINT HINT HINT Google I have to think at some point the Googlistas will recognize older folk need larger digits, and its OK to cover up the onscreen photos. Overall a nice device and very much worth its Monoprice cost. Not sure Id feel the same at or near full MSRP though. I am not able to see incoming email messages on this device sadly, which would be a definite PLUS. Also i cannot display a full month or even a full week of my Google calendar, though it CAN access my Google Calendar and tell me about upcoming appointments. Easy to set alarm via voice I really like that feature. I think Im going to be satisfied with this purchase for some time.

Top notch manufacturer refurbished device. Excellent upgrade to the humble Google Home Mini. The US to UK adapter plug is small and in white. Overall an excellent buy. The photo frame function using albums you can set up in Google photos means everyone stops by the look at the current photo. Streams YouTube and Netflix and plays Spotify. Great for the kitchen.

Pros Good design, well made, good sound for its size, clear easy to read screen, very responsive. At a bargain price.Cons Bought to replace a ClockRadio. However, when you turn the bedroom light off, the Clock display disappears, it only reappears when the bedroom light is turned back on. What is the point of that, I want to be able to see the clock in the dark. Also the Instructions are nonexistent. Well done U Tube.

Pros Really easy to control with voice and touch and can even be managed from your phone through the Google home app. For such a small device the sound from it is quite good, more than acceptable for listening to radio stations or podcasts while pottering about in the kitchen.Cons While you can ask it to stream content from YouTube or Netflix there are quite a few services it doesnt work with. Not a major issue as you can cast from your phone if you have the app on that.

The Google Home Hub has easy setup with phone app. I havent even begun to realize its potential. Ive only had it since Christmas and just received my Google Minis today. So far Im just having fun OK Google, whats the temperature today OK Google, play Imagine Dragons Thunder video. The Home Hub has a nice compact sized screen, excellent video quality and sounds good, too. Ive already purchased a few smart devices. However, I wasnt able to get the thermostat I wanted. Ill keep trying. I want to be able to turn on and off lamps for security purposes, control my thermostat, and whatever else makes life easier and safer, using the Google Home Hub and Google minis. Im hoping they all work together harmoniously so no matter where Im at in my house, or away from home using the app, Im still able to direct my smart devices. I think Im going to have fun figuring it all out and shopping for smart devices. Lots of cool stuff out there.

Pros I can set it to wake me up to the weather and commuting issues and then Radio 4 for the news. I can change radio station without leaving my seat. At night it plays radio 4 for an hour and then switches off. The grandchildren can watch YouTube and have dance parties without having to touch the device.Cons I would like it to be more compatible with my Apple products.

This device receives google duo calls but does NOT have a camera for people to see you. You can see and talk to callers but they can only hear you. If you want a true face time experience then get the google nest max or some other tablet that has a camera. Bought this for an elderly relative who is the exact opposite of tech savvy and refuses to get a normal cell phone. Despite my effort and time spent watching YouTube videos no one said this thing doesnt have a camera. So here I am to clear things up. This device does not have a camera so if you need that feature then keep shopping.

I love the product overall but it is missing some features that would make it stand out. Namely, a USB charging port and the ability to use video services. Youtube works natively, but no Hulu, Netflix, or Amazon Prime. You can cast Hulu from another device, but no Netflix or Amazon at all. Prime I understand, given Googles longstanding rift with Amazon. But no NetflixIt just seems like this is a device along with other smart screens with an identity crisis. Is it designed, as I use it, to be a bedside screen To go on your countertop in your kitchen On an end table For any of those locations, a USB charging dock or two would be extremely helpful. With very limited video casting capabilities, you have a very expensive digital photo frame with a digital assistant built in. Maybe in the next generation.

I very much like having the Google Nest Hub. It seems solidly built and a like the style. It was simple to set up, is easy to navigate, responsive, and I enjoy having the screen to give me a visual representation of the information Google Assistant is giving. If I ask her mine is definitely a her to read a story illustrations are on the screen, weather results are visual as well as verbal, I can use the touch screen to control my smart lights, thermostat, cameras, vacuum cleaner and all the speakers if I want to. If someone is at the door it will show me who right on the screen. It also does all the voice interfacing the Mini does, and Google Assistant sounds much better on the Hub as opposed to the Mini the sound quality in general is much better. I have it on my bedside stand and was a little concerned that it would be too bright, but the brightness dims in response to the ambient light in the room. I have the display set to change to a digital clock when the lights are out and it is just lit enough to be able to make out the time in the middle of the night but otherwise completely unobtrusive. I like it a lot

Perfect as a clock and music player.its good for when i ask something unlike Alexa sometimes i have to yell at her lolwhen i try to play music it doesnt last all night. YouTube streaming sucks when i try to play something. I have to know what the videos exact name is for it to play or else it plays randomly.Im trying to figure out how to keep the display on because i like to wake up to checking the time on here than on my phone. Those are my 3 reasons why i i rated it 3 stars. its good enough for my uses but i would use it more if they fixed the youtube problem and display issue.

The Google Home is literally a hub for your home It is great and you can customise it to your home and preferences. We have our lights, some tvs and the thermostat set up through it as well. Once you get use to how to ask it follows voice commands easily. We have it set up in the kitchen which is alos fantastic for cooking looking up recepies, grocery lists, asking for helpquestions. It really has made things simple. Can you live without it sure. Do we want to not any more. Thanks google.

Although its a little bit smaller than I expected, it does its things very well. Upgrading from a 1st gen Home Mini, it sounds much better also the mics seems to be more sensitive. The display has a good picture quality and bright enough in every situation. An absolute win for the price

Great product, compact size. Will be handy for working with my Smart Lights Philips Hue, Sengled and Sylvania brands. Access to You Tube videos an added bonus. Easy setup with my Samsung Galaxy Edge 7. Would recommend for a person that is a gadget lover and does not care about not being able to make video calls, due to no camera, which is perfect for my useage. Compact size not taking up much space. Small screen size with a beautiful quality picture. The size will add to the ease of moving it from roomtoroom, if one so desires. A super addition to my Google Home and six Google Minis placed throughout my home. Most all units sit in close proximity to either an Amazon Echo two of those or an Amazon Echo Dot seven of those. Will be saving my pennies to watch for an eBay auction for an Amazon Show 2nd Gen. next I wouldnt be without either brand of personal assistant as the Google Home line and the Alexa Echo line, both have great features with which to work, depending upon what you are wanting to do.

I LOVE this item I have two of them, one in the master bedroom and one in our kitchen until I can buy a reasonably priced Max. Bought both on sale the week after Christmas for around 60ea. The nest in our bedroom functions more as an alarm clock and sleep aide however we still use it to directly control all the rest of our devices in our home late at night or early in the morning lights, TVs, and our google phones. The nest in our kitchen I use for just about anything and so does everyone else in our home. I mainly ask it questions when Im cooking, for recipes, cooking temps, cook times, and shelf life of products. It comes in handy too when we need our scheduled events for the day or commutes to work as were heading out the door. I can also watch any of our streaming services directly on this as long as google already is connected to them similar to assistant TVs and start and stop automation for other programs i.e. garage door opening

Good looking and good idea but didnt work for me. Im on Spectrum with 200meg plan. Only got 100 through the Nest after multiple setup attempts. Spectrums default free wifi router gave me over 200 as does the Orbi mesh system I ended up with. This slow throughput is noted in other places online but I assume doesnt affect all users.

I was sceptical about the ability to link the Google Home Hub to a separate bluetooth speaker as I heard that that audio quality was poor. I have not found this to be the case. My expectations were so low but the audio isnt as low or poor that it is not useable. Shame that that John Lewis staffer said you could connect it to a Bluetooth Speaker. Maybe a software update in the future could allow this. You can, however connect your phone or tablet via Bluetooth to this device. Screen quality is very good and the mics pick your voice up very well and I even managed to whisper commands in as I am not a shouty type. I currently do not have any smart devices such as lights and heating connected but as a photo frame and audio player it is spot on, so far. Ambient mode is brilliant also. Gadget freaks and photo fans, do not hesitate, this is a must have.

I really wasnt sure if I was going to be able to use this in our home or if I was even going to like using it. It seemed like it might be a little more complicated and techie than I wanted to deal with… Boy was I wrong I am loving this thing It was so easy to set up and even though we dont currently have a lot of smart appliances or devices we have found a variety of uses for this in our home. As a homeschooling mom of 9 I get an endless stream of questions asked on a daily basis. I am not a walking encyclopedia and sometimes the questions do get a little bit overwhelming. But now my little friend, Google, has really helped me with this problem. Ive also been able to incorporate my online calendar into my Google calendar so I have quick and easy access to appointments, holidays, and even my recipes for my meal planning without dropping what I was doing to look up anything. The Good morning feature is also great as I hate watching the News on TV and Google gives me a quick rundown of the weather and latest news updates while I work on getting things ready for my family. There are so many things that we have found to use our Google for like playing Holiday music, answering miscellaneous questions, news updates, Minecraft instructions, and so much more There are so many more things that we can use Google for if we upgrade to more smart devices as well. This was probably one of the products that we have had the chance to try out and review in our home

This is a pretty pointless item for me.I dont actually want to interact with things by voice for the most part. This sits on my dining room table and lets me know when someone arrives at the front door. I can then talk to them.It also can connect to and show my Kasa Spot cameras whose main virtue is how inexpensive they are.I listen to music over high powered surround sound systems and have little interest in listing monophonically over small speakers.I note there is a new version that includes a camera.

I love my new assinante. Still learning all the wonderful features. The basic features are really straightforward you can turn your lights on and of with your voice or using the touch screen, tou can watch some tv on it and I found its great when you are trying a new recipe you can watch videos on how to and at the same time having the recipe on the screen. Listening to music is a plus. The volume is not too loud but perfect for small areas. It also works as a figural picture frame with your favorite pictures. I just love my new device

Great product, delivered quickly without hassle and in excellent shape. Sound quality is fair, comparable to a Google Home Mini. Works well and the idle slideshow is a nice conversation starter. With hindsight I should perhaps have gone with the Max as the 7 inch screen is a bit difficult to see across the room.Took away one star because this is advertised as the Nest Hub but the box that arrived bore the former Home Hub nomenclature, without even the overlay sticker that announces the new name, as sold by some other suppliers, so this may be older stock being moved. To my best knowledge the new name is just a rebranding that does not affect the product and operation but still, for clarity the product page could have so indicated.

Pros This is located in the kitchen and is used for radio and great because no need to manually switch on. The kids love this product because they can watch videos parental control enabled, they can also ask questions to help with homework. Also used to check weather and latest news. Great also where there is link to Google photos and can enjoy the random memories.Cons After some time the reaction appears to have slowed down and there is a need to repeat the request

Pros Im used to the google assistant as I use it on my phone. Just expands the functionality to the home without taking up too much space or looking out of place.Sound quality is quite good, nice if you dont already have something to play music in your room.Cons The faceplate is still white. Would have been nice if that was charcoal too.

Does everything I need it to. The Google Home Hub GHH is cast enabled and allows you to cast strait from your phone to the GHH. Photos on this device look amazing. Photos displayed on the GHH can be configured online. The GHH automatically adjust the brightness of the screen to match the lighting in the room and improves the quality of the image on the screen, making it look like a traditional photo in a picture frame. The sound quality is somewhat like the first Google Home speaker. I can control my Nest Learning Thermostat, my Samsung Q7 UHDTV, TPLink plugs, Hue lighting, and many many more things. This was one of my favorite tech buys. Well worth it p.s. I now have two of these

I have already a Google Mini at home and happy with all its the features and functions. Trying a new Google Nest Hub was a step up vs the usual experience. I have used at at the kitchen for the recipes here you can have a full handsoff navigation for the step by step recipes you can see the navigation plus assistant will read all the steps one by one without a need to touch the screen, music, stories and even youtube videos. On top of that Ive connected two speakers and made a stereo group whatever music was playing on a google home mini in the living room, it was playing as well when you came into the kitchen. Absolutely adore Still need to try if it is possible to make duo video calls..

This is my first smart device, so thats where Ill be coming from for the rest of my review. Given that it is my first smart device, I think that there are a lot of things I will learn about it as time goes on, but I tried to test it out for a full weekend before writing this. To give some context, I live in a one bedroom apartment in NYC. My kitchen and living room are connected by a passthrough, so its frequent that I will be watching tv while my husband cooks or preps things in the kitchen and vice versa. That being said, any commercial involving the words Hey Google are now the bane of my existence. I do love the feature that allows me to turn the microphone off, so when were not using the home hub it wont pick up on those commercials and start playing music that we didnt ask for before we can either shout, Hey Google, STOP or use our phones to stop it from casting. However, sometimes we want to leave the microphone on so that we can, you know, use the home hub. I placed our home hub in the kitchen, which is near where my former white board was that I would write out our schedule for the next week. Im finally catching up to the times by having a digital version My husband and I love cooking, and this has really helped out with that. The display is a little small, but it will read out instructions to you as you cook and is very easy to set a timer with. I love the ability to set an ambient screen. Eventually I would like to store my photos in Google photos so that it can work as a digital frame, but right now I have it showing fine art, which is really cool Its ability to detect light is also great, and while it doesnt really matter in my kitchen, it would work really well in a bedroom. My husband is still learning that Google isnt very conversational and that you have to speak to it like a robot Hey Google, stop timer, instead of Hey Google, I hear the timer, thank you very much, but he likes the ability to ask weather and such. I think I would get more use out of this if I had other smart devices, even if it was something to control the lights in the apartment and whatnot. This would be much more beneficial for someone with a house or larger space, especially one that has Nest devices because they could all be controlled from here.

Awesome product. Now I can manage my work schedule and calendar with a simple command. Waiting for an update, I hope it will have a screen keyboard and ability to search websites. So far thats the only downside. When you create new reminder it sometimes write things down wrong, so you cant manually edit text or write it in your language

It replaced a Google Home which was relocated. It sits on the kitchen counter and the screen mostly gets used for recipes and as a kitchen timer. But it also does all the usual Google Home stuff music, Google Assistant. Went with the small screen model its fine but it is small. But then I wanted something unobtrusive. Does everything I expected and a few other things as well. Shame I cant teach it to cook the meals rather than just talking me through the recipes

This sits in my kitchen and is an absolute life saver. Need to quickly set a timer Google Home Hub. Need to add something to the grocery list Ask the hub. Need a cooking tutorial for how to correctly French cut some green beans Chrome cast YouTube right to your kitchen counter. In the middle of a Netflix binge and need to cook dinner cast it to the hub I can not even explain to you how much of a game changer this is. Especially if you already use a Google home system. We have 4 minis and a hub and they are all absolutely worth it.

Very pleased with my purchase. I seen lots of people complain about the sound quality and was a little worried. This is a NON issue Through the google home app I was able to pair a blue tooth speaker to the device when I wanted to play music or you tube This is an excellent feature I didnt read about and makes this device much better. For basic voice like weather, or cooking instructions the standard speaker is more than enough, and now when I want music it goes straight to bluetooth speaker. The picture quality is amazing as well, couldnt be happier and so glad I didnt over spend on the nest home max. I dont need a camera, and that was the only real benefit in my eyes. Also love that you can add recipes to your cookbook and store them. PERFECT for my needs.

So I have it in my kitchen now and I can ask google to show me receipes or show me YouTube clips etc while cooking . Its amazing and I will buy more stuff from Google. The sound is also amazing not top of the range but good enough to be able to hear it from another room .Would recommend it to anyone that has a busy house hold

The perfect addition to our new home. My husband and I recently purchased a house and we have been looking to add a few smart updates to it. This Google Home Hub is the perfect control center for everything we are looking to put it. When not being used to control our wireless speakers or doorbell camera it is a digital picture frame that automatically pulls pictures from our Google account. I love that it is more useful than a standard tablet and not only controls many aspects of our home, but also can tell the weather and update us on traffic. It is the perfect device to have centralized on our kitchen counter and I have already used it to watch cooking howtos for the holidays. I am able to get home from work and see any appointments or reminders my husband has left for me, and my husband is able to actually remember things on his todo list This Google Home Hub will continue to be more and more useful as we continue to add smart devices to our home such as outdoor lighting and speakers in our back yard, our oven, coffee maker and more.

Google Home is awesome. It is far better and more capable than Alexa. It does everything from controling the lights, looking up all sorts of things on the Internet, playing tunes that you wouldnt believe exist. Fo example, If I am making Pasta, I can say, Hey Google, play me some nice Itilian dinner music and it hits it right on. The same with like Chinese and even yes, Lithowanian. Fantastic product. I have i built into my new SONY Bravia 55 TV as well. Prety darn great

Once you download the google home app, just click add device and the rest is simple with on screen prompts. I recommend looking deeper into the device settings to set up things like ambient mode turns into a clock in dim light. Ive got 2 of these now and they can all talk to each other. Say to the kitchen display Send message to Bedroom Display… Sure. Whats the message… Dinners ready It then broadcasts your message to that specific device or all devices if you tell ut to.

My problem is getting it set up. At first I was fine, but wanted to start a new Gmail so noone could access my personal pics or texts, emails etc. I asked how to delete it all and send me back to factory reset to start from scratch. All it did was mess me up more. So the problems lye within me I suppose. I just am not capable of doing all of this and it sux as I bought everyone in my home a Google mini and for the sharing a Google nest hub thing with the screen. I had two rooms set up but now none. I was able to set up my ge light but cant even do that now. Im gonna call and see if customer service can help walk me thru deleting everything, use the new email, and I can prob6set it up from there.

Big first jump into smart home. As much as I trust any company, it was going to be Google over Amazon take over the world with information vs shopping. Plus novelty value, nice bedside clock. Negatives need decent WiFi, smart phone, Google account, Google home app, and patience to fully set up. Difficult to find out what you can do with it past beam me up scotty. Does not always work partner always start with hello google which elicits no response whatsoever

The device itself is quality, but often times it says it cant find a speaker group, even if it is playing music on that group. It also doesnt have the same search engine as the Google on a phone or computer. It usually says I cant help with that, after asking it a question. I can ask Google on my phone the same question and it answers me. I still appreciate it for what it does do, and wouldnt want to go without it.

Display is great as an alarm clock automatically fades as light diminishes. Needs Google Home companion app on phonetablet to get best out of it. You can configure it to do a gentle wake up, with sunrise feature i.e. slowly get brighter and once acknowledge go though a customisable routine read out current weather forecast, news headlines, play a specific radio station. Can also view YouTube, Netflix, Disney using the companion app on phonetablet as a controller.

So I own this one and the Amazon Echo show. I have to say this one is much better. The sound just completely stopped working on the echo after 3 days of owning it. Biggest waste of money. But this one weve had for over 3 years and its still going strong. I like that I can control all the minis through this one. Make a grocery list. Cast my podcast from my phone to this. Set alarms and ask it questions. My kids love that we have ours set with a British accent. And that it sounds like their grandpa. But you can change it to several different accents to your liking. Ours has a crack in the screen from my knocking it off the shelf. But it still works just fine a year later. I would definitely recommend this product.

Introduction The google home hub is something that you may have looked at buying before and havent really thought it was worth the money. It may seem like a lot of money for a smart device that may or may not work well, but after this review hopefully you will have more information on it. The google home hub is the first smart home assistant that I have had in my house. It was very easy to setup and was easy to use. The setup time was really short which was great because you could use the hub right away. Once you turned on the google home it walked you through a step by step process of how to get it setup the way you like it. If you needed more help in setting it up or just had questions, then googles website is also very helpful which can answer any questions that you may have. It is powered through google which made it really easy to connect my Samsung phone to which was a big bonus for me.Design Googles home hub comes in a variety of colors which include chalk, charcoal, aqua, or sand. With these variety of colors, it suits most people that would want one. It has a 7inch touchscreen display that is large enough for people to see what is on the screen from a distance which is very helpful compared to other devices like this one. The speaker quality was really good, and the assistant was able to understand me well which I wasnt sure on from the start due to phone assistants.Capabilities The Home Hub has a multitude of capabilities which make it very versatile and can connect you home even more. You can do things like change your thermostat for your home or connect a Nest camera and doorbell to it. You would be able to manage your home cameras and see who is at the door without going to the door. If you have other google devices like a google home mini which you can place in another room, they can connect together to give you a better experience.SoundAssistant One thing that I didnt like about the home hub was when the music was playing the google assistant had a hard time hearing what I was saying apart from the music. Then if I wanted to tell the assistant to do anything it would be hard to do. I also didnt like if someone else was talking, but I opened the assistant it would pick up both peoples voices. They need to work on it, so it will only respond to the person who originally started talking to it.Conclusion In conclusion, the google home hub is definitely a product that I would recommend to anyone thinking about purchasing a product like this. It offers a wide range of capabilitys that can help make anyones life easier. It is a wellbuilt device that will work for a long time and will be something that you will be able to trust.

Bought to replace a similar but round device, this provides me with a revolving and random pictures from my Google account from 100 year old family pictures to a snapshot I took 2 minutes ago. Its quite nice to wake up to a photo of a long lost relative or a wedding photo that youd forgotten. The fact that this gadget plays music, radio stations, tells me the news, the weather and the traffic flow on my commute to work is just a bonus.Buy one, youll love it.

This is a fun little gadget. Its great to walk into my apartment and tell it to turn on my various lights and to play music for me. Even when Im not using it its nice to have a large clock face on the wall to look at.I know this thing is not supposed to be wallmounted, but with some very minor skills one can install it in a wall like I did attached photo. The far field microphone isnt great, sometimes from just across the room I have to yell at it. But even with the speakers in the wall the sound is pretty good. I can listen to music from other rooms, I might have to tell it to turn the volume up to 80 or 90, but thats no biggie. It works with my off brand WiFi thermostat. This thing will connect to almost any brand of smart device you can imagine. I wake up in the middle of the night and if I am too warm I call out to turn the temperature down to 72 and the mini split beeps acknowledging it. I really do love this thing. I may not feel that way if it were much more expensive, but for only a hundred bucks I dont think theres any way of going wrong with this

Freshly decorated bedroom and wanted to update my alarm clock, this nest hub looks modern and is a great size for the bedside table. you can easily set a photo album up in Google photos which will then slideshow on the screen during the daylight hours. setting an alarm is as easy as asking for the time you want and cancelling it is a simple Stop or Snooze having other Google products around the house this links in with the seamlessly and isnt complicated at all.

This smart display is better than the ones from other ecosystems Apple, Amazon, etc.It is better because it is open for any mfg to make devices that are part of the ecosystem ok..so Amazon has some of this but it is wonky and sketchy. We were able to create a shared photo album for free in Google Photos and have family members contribute to it so that a less savvy family member who is ill can enjoy fond memories we share without having to lift a finger as the photos change every few mins.

Over all, the Hub is okay and I like that you can call up YouTube videos on it. However, I got the Hub mostly for its integration with the Hello doorbell. Its a bit disappointing in this regard bc it only shows the doorbell feed when someone rings the doorbell. It doesnt show you when someone walks up to your front door if they dont ring. Someone could just be standing in front of your door

One of the main reasons we purchased this device was so that we could view recipes on the screen while in the kitchen. However, this has a couple of very significant drawbacks, which makes it pretty much unusable.1. The Nest Hub has voicerecognition technology, which is great in most ways. However, when you ask to open the cookbook, you only see your cookbook. So, if another person in your household has saved the recipe you want to hisher cookbook, you wont see it. There is no way to share the cookbooks.2. You cannot load your own recipes into the cookbook. You can only access recipes from one of the Certified Partners. Not very useful.

If I could leave 4.5 stars I would. I love the nest hub, as its been a major help in the kitchen. Its works just as well as, if not better, than Googles line of smart home products. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is due to the fact that I received the wrong color upon pick up, but I ended up liking that color more than the color I ordered. This is a great device for just about everyone. Especially those who are constantly in the kitchen.

This is a wonderful digital assistant. I have mine in the kitchen and I use it for meal prep assistance if Im trying a new recipe. I can play music or even watch Netflix on it. Its very responsive and the screen is big enough to easily see, yet not too big to take up a lot of real estate on your counters. The sound is much more than adequate. The base and treble balance is great. Well worth the price

I use it alongside a Smartthungs hub, an Alexa echo dot, and several other Google Assistant devices to help bridge devices that arent natively supported by Smartthings. Works as the middle man without issue most of time. Expect a slight added delay in response time as a result. Otherwise a great device for smart home users.

It works. Its what I would call boring. It doesnt usually have a problem, and does everything I expected for a device of the price. What impressed me was features I didnt know about, such as the ability to use it as a mini monitor for casting your phone to it. Im impressed enough with how it performs in my bedroom that I am considering purchasing a Nest Hub Max for my kitchen as well.

Pros The primary reason to use this Google Hub over a simple speaker is the screen. Scrolling pictures from my photo collection or random art from a curated Google stream are great. YouTube and YouTube Music both really good. Also lots of radio. All with voice prompt.Cons Can only watch TV by casting from the app on a phone. Had hoped the Google Hub would already have TV apps and play direct from device with voice prompt.Clock faces are OK but not much variety. Need more types and colours.

This 7 Google Home Hub is basically a small 7 tablet with a speaker attached to the back. Not too impressive looking at first. But I have to say, this must be the most amazing 7 screen Ive ever seen. The resolution is very high and it autoadjusts very well to lighting conditions. Next to my Echo Show, this smaller screen looks much better and shows more like a printed photograph. The display quality is top notch. The sound quality is also very good and fuller than you might expect. The touch screen is way more usable and intuitive than on my echo show also. The only thing I dont like about this and the Google Home devices in general is that I never seem to be able to play the song I want, that is without a subscription. It will just give me some radio station with similar songs to the one I asked for instead. Pretty annoying Other than that, Google and Alexa devices both responded to most of my questions pretty much the same.

A small but perfectly formed touchscreen allows you to control streaming services so just Spotify YouTube, Netflix and Disney plus etc in high clarity high contrast high resolution imagery. the device is even smarter to take when youre near and in the room this one does it even without camera, and allows control of your smart enabled home, heating, lighting etc. Simply awesome

With Google Minis across the house this is a great tool to have in the kitchen. For baking the recipe feature is brilliant, handsfree and able to move through the stages listening to the instructions at your own pace. Really enjoy every morning ask for the latest Sky News update and getting played a 4 minute headlines. Works brilliantly with Google Home doorbell as it shows a live feed as soon as anybody rings the doorbell. If you arent fussed about video calling get this one. If you want to video call, get the Max. But in my view a must have for any smart household especially in the kitchen.

I have both Alexa and Google Nest Hub and we have tried to sole source to Google. Unfortunately the experience is not as smooth as Alexa and always feels there is some kind of battle between whats natural in voice commands vs. Google not responding. And dont get me started on figuring out how to change a wifi password with Google Nest Hub… it involved a factory reset in the end.The display itself has good capabilities and easy to navigate. For voice commands, we do get a few errant Google responses when we dont add the hey in front, but it is definitely less scary than Alexa when she wakes up and randomly speaks about something outoftheblue. We integrated a few smart home products like the roomba and that works nicely.I am hoping to see some real improvements or we might need to go back to solesource on Alexa again.

I bought this to have a display for my Google Nest Hello video doorbell. I wanted it to give me an alert when someone came to my doornot only when someone rings the doorbell.I expect this is a common configuration one Nest Hello and one Google Nest Hub. Yet I am unable to find any clear, concise directions on how to set this up. It works so long as someone rings the doorbell, but not if they just step up onto the porch or knock the door. After going through webpage after webpage of less than helpful information, I finally gave up and contacted Nest Hello support. Their response was that I should contact Google Home support. Pros I wish that i had bought this Google Home Hub sooner, it is so good having a screen included rather than just a speaker, one thing i ask every day is what the weather will be and it shows a chart including every hour which is great for knowing when to hang your washing out or bring it in this may be simple but i find it a boon. Another thing i love is i have many films on dvd and i can find out many facts and the year also video clips without having to bother my son to look these things up on his smart phone. This is so worth the price. The speaker is loud and the quality is great. You can connect to spotify. I have lights that connect to the speaker, so it can turn onoff my lights with a simple sentence. It tells you the temp outside and the time, and you could also play games etc. It even plays meditation music if you ask. Its also easy to connect to, my family members have connected to it before. Google Home Hub is amazing Extremely easy to use, so easy my 91yr old grandmother technology challenged and nearly deaf, can interact well and hear it perfect Setup was not overwhelming nor a stressful process. Took longer to get the app going than the setup took. I have a clear understanding how these work but for someone elderly it has a slight learning curve. The hardest part for my gram was figuring out how to ask the question and how to ask a follow up question. For example, say she asked, How old is Julia Roberts Once Google answered shed follow up with, how old are they So the only downfall would be the lack of interaction capabilities to follow up with questions already asked prior. Other than that, this little hub is small, screen is roughly the size of a cell phone interface, and speakers are clean, crisp and clear. I will definitely be purchasing as gifts for the family I used my gram as an example to give an idea on how simple the interaction is. Im not sure she would be able to do the setup, technology has been too far advanced for her. For someone elderly who may want weather, traffic, latest news, and general information, this is nothing shy of perfect I have to say I am quite impressed with Google Home Hub. I especially like the antislide grip on the bottom I dont own cats but I do know how much they love to swat at things they shouldnt lol. No worries with this Hub. I also have a 5yr old who is a bull in a china shop at times, still safe Definitely not disappointed by this, so many options, so much to do Would also be great for busy parents who are on a strict schedule, business professionals who need reminders, school students who have deadlines, etc this is perfect

Pros In theory, it should be a great product. Design and build quality is good, also sound and screen. Google assistant works well for simple requests.Cons Some basic requirements, such as waking to a radio alarm, just dont work. Integration with other smart kit is hit and miss, and there doesnt seem to be much in they way of customising screens etc. Also would be useful if the touch screen could be used to operate some more functions for example browsing spotify, so the whole house doesnt hear you talking to it if you want to change radio stations.

I conracted Google by email and telephone and was told that I could use a free subscription but that was not true.I live alone and at 77 my music does not figure in my main requirement.Perhaps Google should put a warning on dverts and the box that a PREMIUM music agreement costing 100 is required.

Tricky to set up but worth it. I had previously set up the Google mini speaker. This device was a bit more difficult mainly due to the added features. The info has you put you events into your tabletphone first to be able to get the voice reminder each day. I have learned since that voice reminders can be input directly which is much easier I put it on a master bedroom shelf. I can ask it each morning whats on my calendar. This saves a trip into the home office to check my hard copy calendar.

The screen is great. The sound quality is above that of a google home mini. The build quality is surprisingly better than anticipated. Google devices are usually well above par to begin with, but I was particularly impressed with the quality of the build. While not incredibly fancy, it does have an understated look that tends to blend into its environment, more than sticking out. This is good, since I use this one in the kitchen to quickly pull up recipes, or watch youtube while I cook to pass the time. It also works well as an additional speaker when using your home minis as a whole house music system. The only negative Ive found with it could be viewed as a positive by some. Video calls cant be 2 way. There is no camera on the device. While this is great for the privacy concious, for those like me who have all but given up on that, and want to use their devices to call family and friends, it is a bit of a bummer to not have the option. However, it does keep the cost down.

Pros I bought this unit to use as an alarm clock. Love being woken to selected tunes. I am still discovering the other features of the the product.Cons The clock face dims down at night when the lights are out. I find that the face is unreadable when it is dimmed down. I would prefer if this could be adjusted. The daytime brightness is adjustable but not the night.

Its early days yet, so Im havent formed a full opinion yet. So, please consider this my first impressions. The Google Home Hub is a small wellmade device that looks good positioned on a desk or bedside table. The screen has a good enough resolution and colour range bearing in mind its small size. In its ambient mode I use it to show a random selection of photos from my Flickr account. It will also do the same with Google Photos. YouTube videos work really well on this device. Apart from that, it does everything that other Google Home devices can do, but with the added benefit of touch screen controls. The sound quality is similar to the Google Home Mini. I wouldnt use this as HiFi device for extend music listening but its good enough for occasional use. The good news is that it can be connected to Bluetooth, WiFi and Chromecast Audio speakers to provide better sound quality. It does not have a builtin camera, which is great if you have concerns about privacy but slightly frustrating if you would like to use the Hub for Google Duo calls.Overall, Ive given it 4 stars because its a wellmade device. If it has a camera and slightly better sound quality is have given it 5.

I purchased the Google Home Hub Charcoal Color for our den as we spend much of our time in this room. I love the fact that my Google Nest Hello works awesome with it. Very easy setup and even easier to use. I never have to get up from my chair to find out information or to search for my phone. I can get the weather, movies times, see photo albums, watch YouTube videos, listen to music, set alarms, make appointments, make phone calls, cooking videos, find the best route for anywhere I need to go and ETA before I leave the house and many more things. The best thing I love is just say Hey Google Show me the front door etc. My husband and I love it so much we are thinking about getting the outside cameras and of course another Google Home Hub for our bedroom. I love that I can see several pictures of my Grandkids on my hub. This is so easy to use and set up. If I can do it anyone can. The price it right thats for sure. The fact that Google now offers such a comprehensive lineup of smart home and home security products doesnt hurt either because many of the devices work together. I feel I made the right decision with Google Home Hub. Google Home Hub Get 5Stars for sure. Another Great Product and Awesome deal with Overstock.com. For some reasons I am unable to download the picture I took. Thank you, Jeannie

Let me start by saying that I have both Alexa and Google smart home products in my house. I have experience with them both, and while I still prefer Alexa over Google, this hub is still really nice and worth it if you arent looking for video chat capabilities or physical not voice activated search engines. The Google Hub is small and lightweight, whereas the competition is a little more bulky and invasive. The Google Hub allows users to call people hands free, same as the minis…but this one also allows for Duo calls where you can view the person youre talking to. The only problem is that they cant see YOU, which throws people off a bit until they realize its only one sided. This allows my son to call me while Im at work, which is nice since hes only 8 and I dont trust him with a phone yet. Since its small, lightweight and portable, my husband can take it into the kitchen to follow recipes without having to use up all of my ink in my printer to print them out oldschool, I know. When its not being used, its a nice clock for our living room since the only one we have is really dim weve tried adjusting the lighting, doesnt work or a scrolling picture frame. I also like that it auto adjusts to lighting so Im not blinded in the middle of the night, but I can still see it. Want to search for info hands free Its got you. Its got Google Assistant that helps you look for info, tells you news, helps put in dates in your calendar, etc. If you want to watchstream videos, it does work with Youtube, Netflix and Hulu. Listen to music Its Spotify, Deezer, I Heart Radio and Pandora friendly. It works with lots of smart home products as well. We have a Nest Thermostat and Carbon Monoxide detector, and August Video Doorbell, and DLink cameras in my home. We do have a TPLink hub for plugs to control our floor lamp in our living room, and all are relatively easy to connect and use. My only gripe is that there is no actual way to physically search things if you cant voice command search it, youre out of luck and there is no camera to show your side in Duo calls. I also wish it worked with more companies like Sling or Sirius XM, but its still pretty neat Id recommend it.

Ive upgraded from a Google Nest mini as the family got used to using the assistance service and this is a perfect stepup. The same super responsive Google Assistant, but with the small but very detailed screen which is used as a photo frame for our Google Photos or a digital clock for standby mode. Can be used to play videos or music from youtubeyoutube music. Im sure other services are supported, but I havent tried. Overall very satisfied.

The Google Nest Hub appears very solidly built and the display screen is sharp and bright.A quick comparison of how well it handled inquiries compared to the Amazon Echo 2 Alexa told us that while each one worked best for some things both had limitations with some slightly less simple questions. As you would expect since Google owns Youtube and Alexa is an Amazon product each device works exclusively within their own business domain. Google will not access Amazon to read Kindle book read blurbs, and certainly not do any text to speech conversion of any of your existing Kindle books, just as Alexa will not deal with Google eBooks. Perhaps it is best to have both of these devices. Both will play music Google using Youtube and Alexa using your Amazon audio collection or Audio subscription. Since Youtube has a vast collection of music it, will almost always find what you ask for.Furthermore, because it has an LCD display it will often show the video of the musical performance. So far I have only commented on the audio aspects of the two units, since the Google Nest Hub has excellent video display it can do things that the Echo 2 is not capable of doing at all. I am not familiar with the Amazon Echo Video version which would make for a full comparison of the two competing products. As I have become familiar with the Google unit, Ive come to like it more and more, primarily because of the video capabilities which to my surprise allowed me to view W C Fields videos from youtube. In any case these Smart Speakers, as they have come to be called, are very capable timers, alarms, weather reporters, and will often do a great job finding information from sources such as Wikipedia. With them you can access any Radio Station thats capable of streaming to the internet and especially enjoy listening to broadcasts of programs such as Fresh Air, or Science Friday, Freakonomics Radio etc. that we have missed when broadcast over the air.For any handicapped person Voice Operation is Heaven Sent and if you know anyone who would benefit from such a device please introduced them to each other.

It works ok, uses less power than Echo 5 display, and can answer some questions that Alexa cannot. But, I wanted to be able to access my own recipes, and this was possible in the past, but no longer it seems to be. So, it is just laying on my desk with the cord wrapped around it. We have about 10 Echo devices, and they work with everything else in the house. This is nice for displaying Google photos. Might give it to a friend.

I bought the Google mini at the same time and I have discovered that continued conversation does not work with this Hub. I researched it and found that other people are reporting this and Google is working on it but it looks like this has been an issue since day one. If youre wondering… what is continued conversation It is when you ask a question and then you can ask a follow up question without having to say Hey Google every time. It will continue listening to you until you say something like OK thank you or done. For example you can say hey Google hows the weather today It will then listen for a follow up question and you can then say and what about tomorrow. With this hub you have to say hey google every time. This is something that is really amazing once you start using this on a regular basis. Google home mini and regular Google Home Google Home Max do this without a problem. I can only confirm that for sure the Google home mini does do this. Ill be returning this. In the US they just released a google home hub nest max.

The Google Home Hub is an excellent addition to your smart home.Previously I had used some smart speakers made by a competing company in conjunction with a few smart plugs and light bulbs. Although I havent gone allin on smartifying my home, I am moving in that direction. Google Home Hub is fullycompatible with a wide range of product, including my preexisting smart plugs and lights. Adding them to my google account was easy. Responding to Hey Google the hub will turn them off or on. This is my first smarthome product with a screen, initially I was not sure that having a screen would be a huge benefit, but I was wrong. Placing the Home Hub in our kitchen allows the awesome functionality of asking google for recipes and having them appear, asking google to play a Youtube howto video and it plays. The sound is excellent and is easily loud enough to be heard over multiple kitchen appliances. In terms of drawbacks, I guess the clearest missing piece would be the lack of camera. So no video chatting is possible. Aside from that this is a great product

I purchased the Google Home Hub for ONE primary reason to communicate with my RING VIDEO doorbell.I have an Amazon Echo SPOT, which has a small and somewhat impractical video screen. However, when I say Alexa, show me the doorbell, the Spot says, Okay, and up pops a picture of what my Ring video doorbell sees.UNFORTUNATELY, when I asked the Google Home Hub to show me the doorbell, I discovered the Google Home Hub does NOT currently support ANY of the RING video doorbell productsThen, it dawned on me1 Ring, who make video doorbells, is OWNED by Amazon.2 Nest, who make video doorbells, is OWNED by Google3 Amazon and Google hate each other.4 Consequently, Google Home Hub does NOT support viewing the video from Ring doorbells on their beautiful 7inch screen, but Google does support viewing video from Nest doorbells very childish.I checked the Internet, and HUNDREDS of people, who just purchased the Google Home Hub on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, had the same negative experience. Many people said they were RETURNING their Google Home Hub due to lack of Ring support. So, without the ability to see who is at the front door on a Google Home Hub the product is pretty much a 150 gimmick. So, I RETURNED THE PRODUCT

Wasnt sure if Id care for this but if you have other google products this is actually a very handy device. Its basically having the google home app physically on your counter with some little extra bonuses. Great speaker, use it for tv in the kitchen, connection to our ring camera, works all or our home lights.. great for someone watching your house so you dont have to constantly sign into your account via their phone.

This home speaker works great, but I had trouble connecting it to my wifi network that may have been a fault on my end. The interface of the display keeps changing as well, but thats not too big of an issue. Lastly, I was disappointed when I went to set a media alarm and she told me I couldnt. That issue I found particularly odd because I could do that on my older Google Home Mini.

I mean its nice to have in the kitchen as a timer, music player and basic stuff. But, its kinda dumb. Ask who the leading rusher in the NFL this year as suggested by Apple during MNF and it will give you all time leader but not the current leader despite repeated requests stated in different ways. On the other hand its great as a very expensive food timer. Im keeping it but wouldnt buy again.

Good value for money and does what it says on the tin. Just a couple of things to keep in mind… the screen is quite small, so be aware to avoid disappointment. Also it doesnt have a camera.Another thing to note… You can search stuff on the internet with voice commands, but a keyboard doesnt come up on screen, so if you want to go to a specific site, you may not be able.Otherwise, great little gadget which is great to follow cooking instructions and control your smart home

On Nest Hub, YouTube TV does not buffer well and stream. I have done reset including factory reset. In spite of that most of the time in the evenings the Hub does not play YouTube TV. I have to unplug the Hub and reset and then it plays. My internet signal is very good. It was playing few months back without any problem. This is true with another Hub in another room. Ive been all in on building up my smarthome since these speakers started coming out a few years ago. I have a handful of google home minis and one OG google home speaker. The home hub takes the google home functionality that we know and love and puts it on steriods by adding a screen interface on top of that. You wouldnt think adding a screen would make much of a difference but it is really helpful to see some of the responses to questions you ask andor see what youre saying pop up on the screen as youre saying it. The weather is one example where that added extra touch comes into play small things indeed but the sound of rain and animation behind the weather displayed onscreen makes me want to ask what the weather is every hour or so. Integrates well with our nest hello doorbell obviously and seeing the front door on the display is a lot quickereasier than asking google to display the doorbell feed on the living room TV via our Chromecast ultra. I didnt think Id love it as much as I do now I kind of wish I could replace all of my other google home devices with hubs

Pros Great at establishing routines, both morning and night time.Works well with Hive Smart home devicesPicture frame is great though a Google account and the ability to upload photos to Google Photos is required, so some technology knowledge is required and may not be for everyone.Cons Needs Apple Music integration which Amazon Alexa devices haveA smart phone or tablet is required for setup and some confidence in using those technologies are essential. Things dont always work fist time and Apple devices have less functions available than Google devices, eg setting your morning commute to use public transport.

This item isnt user friendly. hard to navigate through different options because there are to many and each one takes you to a different screen that appears to have insignificant options. I found out there is nothing I can use this device to simplify my life instead it is frustrating to hear certain responses that are wrong. For example asking it to show me some recipes instead it gives me the definition of the word recipes. There wasnt a single word I asked to define recipe. Cant figure out how to change split my screen as it showed on displayed with weather and traffic. Settings are through your phone instead of asking it. Talk about simplicity. I asked to order pizza and it stayed on hello my name is Dominique would you like to place an order or check the status of your order I asked it to show me directions, shortly after a few seconds it gave me a frozen screen. For the price of this device id rather purchase google home without the screen and it has to be on sale. This item didnt work for me and returning it although I preferably think it belongs with a broken screen, in the garbage. Garbage

Great device. We use this smaller device in our bedroom to play music through YouTube music, Spotify or the radio. We can also watch YouTube videos or Netflix too. We also use the device as an alarm clock and to make or receive calls to our other Google speakers around our home. We also bought the Google Home Max which we have in the kitchen which has a larger screen and is louder and we have a Google speaker on the landing. We can play music or we can call or send messages to each or all of our devices around our home which also saves us having to shout up the stairs to the kids or each other. We can also call people but only through Google Duo so the person you call must have Duo through their phone you can video call on Duo but only on the Google Home Max not this item

Absolutely fantastic. Currently I have this one in my kitchen for music, casting streaming services except for Netflix for some reason, recipes, and a slew of other littles functions. My absolute favorite function is simply asking Google to find a recipe for me. By simply saying Hey Google find a recipe for roast potatoes it will pull up several options it finds on the web and then it will read out the ingredients and instructions as you. You can vocally tell it to pause so you dont have to wash your chicken hands and miss a bunch of steps just to pause it. Another great feature on this device is the ability to switch the mic on or off. When you dont want tech listening in, it still acts as a clock and digital photo frame. I have ordered the Nest Hub Max and am incredibly excited to receive it and play with all of the new features.

Pros The Nest Hub serves a display for all my memorable photos. It helps me to sleep with the ocean sounds. The screen is 7 inches but decent size for me to watch YouTube videos and Netflix. The voice control is better than other similar device. When I initiate a command, it focuses on my voice and there is no interference from tv or other audio.Cons Though not often, if it does not pick up my voice command clearly it offers suggestion and I have not mastered the quickest way to revert to the previous screen

I am going to rate this 4 stars because its a lot of fun. We decided to dive into some smart home stuff this year, and bought this hub as well as a few minis and various lights. Getting everything to work together is fun and an ongoing experience. We placed the hub in the kitchen so we could view recipes, use as a photo frame, listen to music, control lighting, leave reminders and set timers. To begin, its super easy to use as a timer when cooking, I no longer have to stop what I am doing and set a timer. As a photo frame its great. For music, we find the speaker to have less presence than we would like, with the minis actually sounding better. You can pair it with a bluetooth speaker or a mini, but not both. Aside from that, most music in the kitchen is just background anyway. Using your voice to turn on the lights is fun although not really necessary in our house. What is also nice is that we speak 2 languages in our house and the hub will listen and respond accordingly in the correct language, once you set this up in the Home App. Now for what does not impress us, If you want to watch a particular recipe video, thats not an option. You can say, Hey Google, show me a recipe for meatloaf, and it will find some. It will not find the recipe you saw before on your favorite cooking page. It wont use your Chrome bookmarks which is really a point they need to incorporate into this. I already know which one of my bookmarked recipes I want to make, so asking it to pull that up would be ideal, rather than showing me random recipes that I have not tried or may not have the ingredients on hand for. Another point I am wondering is why the actually call this a hub, when it actually has less functionality than using the Home App on my phone, and the minis have the same functionality minus the screen. Overall, its fun. If its in your budget give it a try. I think as smart home technology progresses this will hopefully have more uses to us. As for now, its pleasant and useful enough.

I already had 4 of these in my house to replace the old non screen speakers so this was the last one. Found a good deal on dailysteals so picked up this one to sit on my desk in my home office. Love the Google Home Hubs with the screens since I can watch videos on them while in a boring meeting or have it pull up my doorbell camera when the windows are closed, play music and control home devices. As long as you know the Google is always listening, then you good.

We bought this mainly as a cooking aid. It is great in the kitchen, you can ask questions like hey google, how do i peel a pumpkin or tell me how to make scrambled eggs and it responds verbally so you can keep your hands and eyes free to focus on the task in hand. It reads out recipes in a structured way first it reads out ingredients one at a time, then the method one at a time. It reads out the next ingredient or step only when prompted. The screen is good as you can also read a recipe, ask it to look up information on the web or view videos etc. It integrates with spotify and can play BBC radio on demand to give you some entertainment. The good morning routine is also handy hey google, good morning prompts it to do a customised set of actions for me it gives me the weather forecast, checks my trains are running ok and then reads the news.Only criticism is it can be quite hard to figure out exactly what it can do. On day 1 I was a bit confused and barely used it, but after playing with it for a few days I wouldnt be without it

We were hesitant to get one of these as we thought the screen seemed rather small and we were hoping to be able to get the bigger Google Home Hub Max instead but given that the Max is not available in Canada any time soon, we decided to try out the standard Google Home Hub and we were pleasantly surprised We have ours in our bedroom on my wifes vanity. It replaced the Google Home Mini and the alarm clock we had there. This does both those functions. At night, the screen turns into an alarm clock and during the day, it works as communication to our smart home and my wife can use it to watch videos while getting ready for work. We own most Google products out there and I can say that the quality of the speaker falls between the Google Mini and the Google Home. Better than the Mini, almost as loud as the Home, nowhere near the Google Max though P Think of the Google Home Hub as a Google Home speaker with a display screen. Simple as that. Were now thinking of getting another Google Nest Hub for the kitchen

Works great as an assistant with a screen, but does not perform well for the main feature I bought it for a 7day alarm clock. It lacks onscreen controls to manage alarms. There is no option to set an alarm to announce weather, news and play a radio station for a preset period of time e.g. play 93.9FM from TuneIn for 1hr. Managing this through routines is cumbersome and does not allow selecting different news sources for different routines. Also, there are lots of funky clock skins, but missing one with black background that would display clock, next alarm time and weather.

This Google Nest Hub is one of the best smart devices I have purchased My husband and I use this everyday all day long. We are either setting our alarms to wake up in the morning every night, or asking Google Nest Hub to turn our smart Thermostat temperature updown, and we are also using our Google Nest Hub to set our smart lights to the color and offon. Of course we also use the Google Nest Hub for our TV, to turn the volume updown or to startstop the show we are watching. I really didnt think when we purchased the Google Nest Hub that we would be using it for really anything, but WOW was I completely wrong This makes many things so much quicker and easier. I highly recommend this Google Nest Hub to everyone, even if you think just like me that you wont use it because you can just turn light off by hand or change the thermostat by hand, and so on, believe me this Google Nest Hub will make your life not only easier, but also fun Just to let everyone know that happens to be reading my review, this review I am typing right now is for my Google Nest Hub that I purchase 2 years ago Yes 2 years, I am so happy after this long that I purchased it, I have had no problems with it in any way, and whats nice is I am still learning new things that this device can do.

The Google Hub is brilliant. The microphone is sensitive, the screen has auto brightness or detects when you approach it so its ready to use. Now you can actually see results displayed on the screen compared to the Nest Mini, or use the screen whilst cooking but watching YouTube, Netflix, etc… My only problem with it is the sound quality. It is nowhere near as good as the Google Nest Mini. Although yes you can customise the EQ, but it lacks the punch and quality of the Nest Mini. Overall not a bad product. There were a few marks on the plastic casing on the device, and the US to UK converter adapter was cheap and dangerous no fuse and made of cheap plastic so this went straight in the bin

Ordered this from JL on recommendation of our sons for collection from local Waitrose and havent been disappointed. Set up in our kitchenfamily room, where we have it showing our photo albums via Google Photos, or playing music from Spotify and radio from Tunein. It sits just below the base of a tv screen and the picture and sound quality are better than we might have expected. As indicated in the title, we can use it to voice control our smart light bulbs and plugs. My wife also uses the facility to search for recipes, which she can save for future viewing. All in, a great purchase.

We have been using Google home for over a year now and the Google Nest Hub has been a great addition to the Google family. Its placed in our kitchen which is where we use it most. I love that you can have multiple timers on and now see a visual countdown of each timer wo having to ask google how much time is left. Also, now when you ask for something to be added to the shopping list, you get a visual of your list which you can amend on the screen as well and when asked a question she will produce visual results including weather and forecasts, pretty much anything you want. Another feature I really like is streaming music videos from YouTube while Im preparing dinner, so much better than just listening to the radio. When not in use, she streams personal photos from my Facebook albums which I love and a clock at night. I highly recommend the Google Nest Hub

Pros Dont buy other Smart Assistant solutions this Google product leaves them in the shadows as it is 1 understanding of the questions 95 of the time and 2 90 accurate with the answers the Amazon solution is pathetic in comparison. Dead easy to set up and use and so good that this purchase is a second and used as a bedroom clock, alarm, newsmusicplayer and telephone for other Google Duo users thats a free, downloadable app. I bought during sales, as well, so super excellent value. My soninlaw played with it and loved it so much he bought one and dumped AlexirCons Sadly, our RING video doorbell doesnt interface with it as RING have got into bed with Amazon but that is a RING failure not a reason not to buy a Google Home hub

The screen is very good sufficiently high resolution, sensible size, and the brightness control is always just right. Sound is loud and very clear but dont expect a hifi speaker because it has little bass. Although based on the same software and AI, the Nest Hub really capitalises on its screen, giving it many advantages over Googles Smart Speakers. I use the timers a lot, and often several at once when cooking. Being able to see their progress all at once is great, and they have fun themed sounds and animations if you name the timers. Its also great to see at a glance that what you said was understood, because your voice recognition results appear at the top of the screen as you speak. When its not busy it can show photos from albums and I completely underestimated how nice this is. The whole family enjoys seeing forgotten photos popup unexpectedly, which would normally otherwise only see the light of day when searching for something else. Search results appear with more context, and theyre surprisingly intelligently displayed gently scrolling over the part of the web page with the relevant answer. Theres no camera so you cant send video calls but the speakerphone audio quality is excellent. If your kitchen counter has too much stuff standing close around the Hub I noticed the precision of the voice control is reduced, but its excellent otherwise, and works amazingly well with a lot of background noise. It has real volume buttons on the back that you can use by feel, but you can also use gestures on the screen to show a touch volume slider. The only downside I can think of is its not going to fill a large living space with dance music, but for an average room its more than enough. It seems very well built, but if it went wrong I would have to get a replacement right away as I would really miss it.

I purchased this device for use in the kitchen since I thought it would be a convenient way to view recipes without needing to have a tablet or phone in the kitchen. The device has MANY limitations in this regard. For instance1. You cannot load your own recipes into the device. You can only use recipes from Googles certified partners.2. You can copy the recipes from the certified partners into your own cookbook, but there is no way to search that cookbook for the recipe unless you know the exact name of the recipe. Hmmm…what that recipe called Savory Parmesan Chicken or was it Tasty Parmesan Chicken3. The device has voicerecognition capability, which would seem to be nice, but if I load recipes into my cookbook, and my wife loads recipes into her cookbook…we cant see each others saved recipes. I can only see my saved recipes, and she can only saved hers. Theres no way to share recipes across members of the same household through the Nest Hub.Not ready for prime time in the kitchen.

This device is definitely well thought about. I have it in my bedroom and I was wondering how bright the screen would be wife doesnt cope with anything bright at night but it has definitely been well thought through it picks up when you turn the lights off and changes to just a clock, very dim but enough that you can see it. Whilst in dim light, the screen looks very much like a physical photo, very good at blending in to the surroundings As for the features, all seems fine so far, I like that you can cast to it, though realistically if you have a tablet its probably bigger than this screen. You can set the default player to being YouTube rather than Spotify so that, if you dont have a Spotift Premium subscription, you can still listen to the song you wanted a nice touch. The only thing you might want is a camera covered, of course in order to do Duo calls with others, but overall its a well thought out piece of kit.

Very flakey. Sometimes hears you, then doesnt. Sometimes goes into command mode when no one has said anything. Routines work half the time, then dont the other half. Cant get it to play specific music or YouTube videos. Huge waste of money. My wife is consistently angered by this thing.

I really wanted to like the Google Nest Hub. When I first set it up, it worked perfectly. It controlled my lights, my switches and my thermostat by voice. About two weeks later, after a power failure, Google Nest Hub would no longer link with my thermostat, switches or lights even though they continued to work perfectly within their individual apps. I spoke to both manufacturers who indicated that it must be a problem with the Google Nest Hub since their devices and apps worked perfectly. A call to Google support resulted that they could not help me with 3rd party products even getting a 3rd party app to link. So I am stuck between a rock and a hard place and am disappointed that I can no longer control my devices with the Google Nest Hub. Other than that, the Google Nest Hub works well with displaying photos, playing music, getting information and similar task.

After having a google nest hub for more then an year it was time to upgrade to the max. Pros this has a much bigger and that is very much noticeable. the camera, that also serves as a security camera when you are not at home. Cons Even with the bigger screen it isnt very well taken advantage of with a lot of free space. The camera doesnt allow a very effective switch of the home mode, having to be done manually. Also the size of the speaker makes this a tall speaker, unlike the 7pol which has the exact size to have the screen close to the stand. So for me to ear music and as a digital frame its good but for many other cases the 7 is better.

Ive been using Pure bedside alarms for the last few years, with the main problem being their tiny OLED screens are very bright and light up your bedroom, even when set low. Surprisingly, here is a product with a screen size several times bigger, yet is perfect for the bedroom. It dims to become hidden in the corner and yet the clock remains entirely legible. Setting an alarm is as simple as asking, versus pressing several buttons in convoluted menus. And, this does so much more as I really like to know about the weather. The only disappointment is I like to wake up to Radio 4 and thats not currently an option in the UK. The feature was there apparently and then was removed. Maybe itll be back. Meanwhile an alarm is what you get. Makes regular bedside alarm clocks prehistoric by comparison.

This is my second Google Home Hub, and my fifth Google Assistant powered piece of hardware. As a digital picture frame its amazing easy to add photos to using a Google account, and easy to set up.As a speaker, the quality is great. Perfect for radioAs a smart assistant, Google needs some work. They are continually adding and removing features which affect how normal things youve always said work. Googles responses are I dont understand more than ever.

Overall, Im disappointed in the lack of synchronous communication between devices I expected it to be better by now. With Two Hubs, one Hub Max, three wifi spots, and four minis, calling between each device is still difficult to figure out and unreliable. Somehow one device is connected to my phone number, another to my wifes, then it switched so theyre all connected to one number… odd and annoying. And the broadcast feature is totally hit and miss nowadays. Also, the first gen Hub is really acting strangely and not returning to the home screen when asked. It just freezes on the last action screen it performed like turn off light. The Hub Max is now announcing random things during the workday routine, which was funny for the first day or two, but now its annoying.Im not quite to the point of if google doesnt upgrade, I will, but Im getting there.

Pros Good design with screen. Duo call would have been better with camera in this model.Cons Voice command does not always return correct result. It get confuse between music and you tube command. Voice sensitive should be better, we have to shout sometime for Google to hear it.

We put our Google Hub in the center of the family room and it can pick up most commands as long as were in the room and shouting towards it. Its not as sensitive to voice commands as the ads would have you believe. Our family room is huge, so that might have something to do with it. Its open to the breakfast room, but it doesnt respond if Im in there, regardless of how loud I get. I can see the screen, but it doesnt do anything from there. It can turn lights on and off and do google searches. The broadcast function intercom is nice. It has very limited functionality for the ROKU TV. It can turn the volume up or down or mute the TV most of the time, but it doesnt work all of the time. It brings up the ROKU app on the screen and types the command, but doesnt actually do anything sometimes. Other times, it works ok. It cant change channels, pauseplay or launch a show yet. Weve been working with it for a month or so now, but cant get it to do much more. Overall, its a good value and it mostly works.

Everything seems to be working as described. Use it on my night stand make a great clock, and music player at the same time. However.. please note this was the last one on the shelves, and bought because the Lenovo smart alarm clock was not in stock. With a retail back ground this is not a great sign of customer service. Purchased at the St. Louis Park Home Depot.

I just got this when it was on sale for 99. Its an amazing gift believe it or not I ended up buying 3 more of these. Its suppose to integrate with your life I love how you can actually watch YouTube videos and look up the nearest beauty salon or spas. It also displays your photos for the display and much more. It can also be a replacement to your alarm clock and you can put it on your bed side. Its great to have in the kitchen to cook along with recipes. Not sure why theres beef for this but seriously its the best thing ever It works with the Nest which I own to control and predict my habits and I can set up the temperature on my voice command. You can have multiple people on the same hub but they also must have the google home app.Set up is super easy and dummy proof I work in a busy corporate setting so it does keep me organized for things and helps set up reminders. You can also order stuff and have the assistant order things for you such as food. You can look up beauty tutorials or ask for beauty tips Theres daily tips you can ask. However for certain devices like the TV or music you may need a chromecast or chromecast audio. But if you use Spotify or Google play music you are fine without it Also it does not have a camera compared to the echo show for privacy reasons. So its safe for the bedroom It also has ambient lighting The audio quality is nice as well. I hope they roll out more colors in Sephora. Theres a black colored one, Aqua, and pink. But I think it had the default color. You might have to shop at other places if you want more unique colors.Im still discovering more but the device itself is learning too so be patient with it Theres so much to discover I really cant cover it all in a review. I suggest going to a Best Buy or target to demo it out before buyingJust make sure you be patient with it since the device itself is learning as it goes. Theres more fun on discovering near and awesome things with the hub

I am very much enjoying the product I bought this product mostly because I like to listen to music on my phone and when I have to turn off my music to answer text to gets very annoying I also liked it because I like to search different recipes in Google actually talk to me and tell me the ingredients and tell me the instructions so thats very helpful as well. I find the product also could be a little bit bossy which is sometimes funny 445 it will tell me time to wrap up my day in start prepping for dinner At 605 a.m. which I got to set the time itll tell me time to start getting ready for work Search this nice to have those little reminders here and there. Not knowing the weather can be frustrating and sure nobody always wants to have to look at the weather network to get the readings that they want so I like that I can just say Hey Google and ask it to show me the readings for both my place of residence and my destination.I believe my favourite part though about the Google home that it will play my music it also will display my pictures off my phone kind of like a digital photo frame.I highly highly recommend this product

I bought this as we have multiple nest products, cameras, smoke detector and the doorbell. All of our nest products we control by our phone but i wanted something other than our phones to be able to control them, this works great. I can view all the cameras on its screen and my favourite feature is when the doorbell rings it comes up on the screen with the live feed from the cam built in the doorbell so i can see who it is and i can use it to speak to them. Also linked it up with our Tplink plugs which control a couple of lights around the house. I can ask google to turn on the lounge light and it does. Also linked to my sonos easily. Im really impressed with this product.

I decided to purchase a Google Home Hub after Christmas when I saw that it was on sale and I also had a Lowes gift card to use. Ive been automating my home with Wemo switches and Nest devices. The Google Home Hub works with the Wemo switches as well as Alexa, but it is even better if you have Nest equipment. You can use it to arm Nest Guard and lock the Nest Yale lock with voice command. Alexa cannot do this and Im not sure they will ever add that functionality to her now that Amazon and Nest are competing for the same customers in the home security market.I like that the hub is small enough to put on a nightstand and use as a smart alarm clock. It does not have a camera which also makes it better for bedroom use. The builtin alarm function seems to work fine, but Ive had it fail a couple of times when trying to link to Pandora and play music as an alarm. Hopefully they will fix this in the future.Although you can command the hub to display your Nest cams, this only works if the camera is on at the time you issue the command. Unfortunately you cannot turn the cam on through the hub. You still have to use your phone or computer to turn cameras on and off.You can create routines for bedtime, coming home, leaving home, etc. For example, I created a routine for Hey Google, goodbye that turns off the lights, turns down the thermostat, and arms the security system as Im leaving the house. If you have Nest devices, I would get one before the sale ends 2219. When they add more functionality and fix the bugs through software updates, this will potentially become a 5 star device. For now Im leaving off one star to leave room for improvement.

I use Chromecast, have a Pixel, and have a couple google speakers already, so it isnt surprising I wanted a display that could seamlessly connect me with all those products. Weve also started to get into the smart home trend, and we figured it would be nice to have something that lets us connect those as well. All that said, the Hub was better than I expected. It has a userfriendly interface that helps you see what you need to at a glance. It is quick to respond and gives clear results. When you need to give further information, you can speak back or press a button on the screen. The images on the screen are crystal clear and we used the Google home app to display our favorite google photos app on it when it isnt being used and it looks sharp.Originally, we had this in the kitchen. It was awesome we would watch youtube on it while eating breakfast, listen to the daily news while doing dishes skipping the boring stories with a command or button, have it read ingredients and steps for recipes either our own or ones we ask for for us as we cooked, and used it to monitor our smart home devices. After we started renovating our kitchen, we brought the hub into our bedroom as an alarm clock. This also works really well. The device dims and turns into a blackscreenwithwhitenumbers clock when it is bedtime. For privacy, we use the switch on the back to turn off the microphone when we dont want it listening. It doesnt have a camera so we never worry about being watched. In the morning, you can have it act as an alarm, so we started keeping our phones away from the bed so we arent on them so much before we sleep. It will play any sound you want, then I have tell me the news so I feel up to date in the morning. It is incredibly customizable so you can have the morning experience that helps you best. When our kitchen is done, well likely buy the bigger one for our kitchen and keep this in the bedroom, because its the best alarm clock Ive had.All said, I would say the Nest Hub is worth the price, but Id still wait for black friday for sales on it. If you can afford it, though, and wonder if it will work as advertised, it does and it will surprise you with how much it can do. You will definitely find more uses for it than you even bought it for. In my book, thats a good sign of a great product.

I decided to pick this up since I moved into a new house. Figured it would be good in the kitchen to look up recipes and stuff. While it is good for that it has so much more benefits. The sound quality is pretty good not as loud as the regular home but good. And the screen is good. I like the definition as Ive watched YouTube and Facebook videos through it. I wish you could watch Netflix but you cant at least not yet. Anyway its a really good product and it is worth the money especially considering I got it for a really good deal at just about 66. So I got a crate quality product for a pretty good price. Highly recommend this and all the Google homes. I love broadcasting so if you need to send a message to the family like dinner is ready its that simple. No more tell your brother dinners ready. Anyway good product and I cant wait to see what new features the future brings with these assistance.

This is a great value and at a great price. If you are familiar with smart home hubs you may know that the hockey puck type hubs are 50. I like the screen version personally and with this package I have two screen versions of nest for just a little more than the puck version.I have a 10 screen on my main level, and one of the 7 in the lower level and one upstairs. Full house coverage for commands, news, sports scores, info….

We originally loved our google home hub and appreciated the sleek appearance of it on our kitchen island. It has a variety of options for a screensaver, though we have ours set to an analog clock, and it allows you to manage several of your household items such as lights and smart plugs via a main hub. But after using this for a couple of years we feel like the sensitivity is really lacking and we have issues regularly with it dropping connection or needing to be restarted. We also find we dont use it for things like commute times, weather, YouTube videos or showing recipes mostly because its more convenient to still use our iPhones for those. The one time I did try to follow a recipe I struggled getting the hub to show the whole thing given how the webpage was formatted. I kept trying to scroll and it would just stop halfway through the ingredients list. Overall this is a nice device when it works but if I hadnt received it for free with some rewards I probably wouldve been just as happy with only the small mini speakers.

Google Home Hub is perfect sized and blends easily in with most settings. It has a 7in colored display and a very decent sound quality for its smallish size. It was easy to setup using the Google Home app. Can easily setup routines on the Google Home Hub using the Google home app also. It recognizes between different voices so more then one person can use it. Its very good at distinguishing between voices My 2yo tells it to put Mickey Mouse on YouTube and Google Home does Its a Moms life saver It doesnt have a cameraweb cam so no worrying about getting hacked and your life being on display to strangers When not in use it can be used as a picture frame as you can set it to display photos from your phone google home or it can display the clock in a few different formats. The negatives about the Google Home Hub is that it has to always be plugged in to work It doesnt have a battery Although it has YouTube, Pandora, Showtime app, and a few others you can not watch Netflix on it. The only other complaint I have is that with the auto dimbright feature the screen can sometimes be hard to see when its dark and the screen is dim. But other then this small stuff it is perfect

Surprised that this was being sold at sephora, and for a better price than anywhere else Ive checked out Its small about the same size as my kindle, but does have a nice screen and decent speaker It must be plugged in to operate, as it doesnt have a battery source. I like how it integrates well w what I currently use day to day. Like everyone has mentioned, you can get news, weather, daily routescommutes, and watch youtube and other streaming services like netflix and hulu. I was able to open hulu through google home and then cast from my phone. Theres shopping lists, scheduling, and a very nice display on ambient mode. I already had the google photos app, which let me select which album I wanted to use to display or you can do face recognition and have selected persons in your collage. Anyways this is really neat and definitely a great way to keep hands free when youre somewhere like the kitchen doing other tasks. Not sure if it pairs well w the security cameras I have, but for all the other features its still worth it. I highly recommend.

This is same as Google home with an Android tab on top. Any Android tab with home app can do the same thing Google home hub does. Anyway its built solid, Google used its database and search engine voice enabled just like a Google mini or home. Its fancy and nice looking. Its more accurate than akexa. Sound quality and voice command is better than Alexa. Picture quality is almost same as Alexa. I ve nest thermostat and Google mini in my home. Link to Additional home hub is under one min job and easy. Highly recommend if you want to convert your home to a smart home.

I usually dont buy the newest gadgets, i wait awhile for the price to drop. The Google home was the exception. As soon as it came out i bought my first one. It was just the speaker, then came the Google Assistant display and the Mini speakers. I now have them in every room. This review is for the Display. I have one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom. I love them. It is a bit of a learning curve. But to get the most of yours i recommend at the very least going to You Tube and watching the latest help video. No technology is perfect but thru updates it gets better. It sometimes doesnt understand me but i do talk to fast at times. It saves me time by adding to my shopping list, making calendar events and sets reminders, i even use it for phone calls. My biggest complaint is it doesnt just answer my questions, it wants to teach me the answer or how to come up with the answer myself. This is annoying when i just need the answer quicky. Otherwise i do love my Google Assistant.

Great for reminders and killer superior for commute times and visual routes. It syncs with all your devices. I wish I bought the bigger screen. Also has evening and morning routines that respond to commands. Great for news, including a crisp, crystal clear screen. Happy I bought it, considering more google products.

So much potential Unfortunately, thats where it ends … potential. Wish it can text a number, but no, just calls. You cant even make video calls either because theres no camera on the Hub so you might be able to see them but they cant see you. What else You can play Youtube videos but not much else. I have Sirius XM on it but I cannot scroll through the channels, I have to say the EXACT name of the channel for the hub to play the station. So annoying. What else Oh, it can share a pic on the display to email, but cant upload to Facebook cmon Its 2020. Anyway, like I said … lots of potential, but it falls short of it. Its pretty much a glorified digital picture frame right now. It is good that it can be a security system though, and also can be the control center of a digital home lights, thermostat, and the security cameras. For the price tag … whether you feel the value is there depends on what you want this for. It would be awesome to be able to have more apps on the hub like a tablet, and be able to have it integrated with the hub eg hey, Google, share this picture on FacebookInsta, etc.

I got this on a Black Friday sale for about 50 and I love the screen. I have it placed on my desk as a clock and for my morning weathernews update. I also have two Google mini speakers and other parts of my house. I can say if you wont be constantly staring at the screen for pictures of the time, the speakers are usually cheaper and accomplish basically the same tasks. If you can get it on a good sale then its absolutely worth it.

Pros The screen is great, videos can be streamed from it and its way more helpful than any Google smart speaker without a screen.Cons The speakers arent great. I bought a couple of these at my local HD to control my Honeywell 9000 series WiFi thermostat, Ring cameras, a Wyze camera and some PhilipsWiz lights. The only thing I could get it to work were the lights. I spent a considerable amount of time researching the problems and heres what I found out. A competitor to Google that makes Alexa bought Ring in 2018 and now Ring doesnt work with Google products. Google owns Nest and my Honeywell stat doesnt work with Google either. I discovered Im not the only one having problems apparently due to company rivalries creating compatibility problems. From what I have read, Ring worked with Google hub until they were bought by a competitor. I dont know why the Wyze camera never worked. Note that I had to select the North American version of my thermostat when trying to set it up. It defaults to International version and your login will not work. Even after that it still didnt see the stat. Hubs are going back to HD. I ended up ordering 3 Alexa Shows and they worked with everything Easier set up too. As for how the Google Hub operated, it was was smooth and fast. Not laggy. Seven inch screen is a bright and sharp IPS type with good viewing angles. Sound is pretty good considering its size. Speech recognition seems to work better on the Google devices. However the Alexa Show 8 has it beat in in screen size, 8 vs 7 and sound quality. Also much easier to set up. You will need to download and install the Google Assistant for your phone to set it up. I would have kept both hubs had they at least worked with my Ring cameras.

My son 10yrs loves my google home set up . It comes with around 20 fun games built in . He plays youtube on it .Will ask it jokes and plays his music on it .I also purchased two mini nest speakers so we can have it in multi rooms. Amazing system We have our Google Home nest Hub located in our Kitchen, where we spend most of our time We are constantly listening to music, either on the radio or YouTube and have the option of selecting what we want to listen to when we want to listen to it The sound system is decent, the speakers are loud and sound amazing. We also use our Google Home for looking up recipes, checking on the weather, making phone calls, making shopping lists, the list goes on We have not had a chance to utilize all of the different functions as of yet and we purchased this back in August. I wasnt too sure Id like the Google Home Hub. We already have an Amazon Echo and I felt that it was mostly the same, but my husband is pretty tech savvy and was interested in trying out the Home Hub. It is WAY better First, I love that theres a screen. Its a bright, clear picture and its responsive to light and dark during the day you can set the screen saver to automatically curated photos from your Google account, and at night it dims into a dimmed digital clock display, so if you keep it in your bedroom, its not going to disturb your sleep. But the screen is more than just a hightech picture frame, its a super easy to use interface. Instead of yelling at my Amazon Echo and hoping it understands me correctly, I can either speak to, or I can visually see whats going on with the Home Hub. It displays weather, commute times, our daily calendar, all in one perfect spot. My son 7 found a fun Mad Libs game to play with it right away, and Im sure theres more. Weve barely even scratched the surface of what the Home Hub can do. Im so excited to really explore its potential when we add on other smart gadgets to our home. I think it will be so great to be able to monitor our doorbell, heat, and even lighting right from our phones. The app is so much easier to use than the Amazon Alexa app as well. All around, its intuitive, functional, and a beautiful piece of technology that I dont mind having on display. Highly recommend

I bought this for my elderly mother to use as a tool to play music and to enable us to do video calls the phone is actually becoming a little tricky for her to use. However please note that if youre buying it for calling it only works with Google Duo to the best of my knowledge which is free to download from the App Store.Theres plenty on it that we havent used. For example pictures in the future Ill get one of my more tech savvy children to set this up and upload some pictures. Its relatively straightforward for a reasonably tech savvy person to set up.Whilst it makes most of my mothers requirements it would be great if it linked to more apps. Im really pleased with the Google Home Hub I bought it a few months ago alongside two Google Home Minis which I set up all together very easily they are all in different rooms. I use the Google Home Hub every morning to ask things like the weather, and it always answers helpfully and understands what Im saying. I have linked it up to my Spotify account and can also ask it to live stream radio channels so its perfect for listening to music, and the quality of the sound is really strong too. One thing I find really useful is that you can ask it to find your phone for you and it rings it on loud Im always losing my phone so find this super useful. I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of purchasing one, and think they are way better than any of the other alternatives on the market

The voice recognition can be sketchy at times it would be nice if it could be better trained liked Dragon Naturally Speaking even though that is a pain. As a virtual assistant, I like the fact it is not directly attached to a store and thus cannot accidentally order things on my behalf. I also like the mechanical onoff microphone button to ensure it cannot listen if I do not want it too.The most amazing thing is how fast it can come back with an answer to an obscure question. I can ask it a question and it will tell me the answer I was looking for within seconds which is way faster than I can do a keyword search on my computer, scroll past the ads and find what I was looking for. I hate to say it, but even Siri on my IPhone is not as fast as Google on the Home Hub is.I bought this one for my mother who is her mid 80s and has trouble dialing the phone. She can ask it to call me, have it tell her the news and then slow it down so she can understand it, turn on and off the TV and some lights. She loves Googles humor. It is not perfect, but it works well enough that I bought another one for myself to use as an alarm clock and to view my Arlo security cameras from bed which means I no longer need to take my cell phone to bed with me, which means work can wait until the morning. Well worth the price.I give it 4 stars for the voice recognition issues which is a huge hindrance when trying to make a phone call etc.

Pros Where to start I linked the Spotify to the hub which finds every type of music I ask for. The quizzes have provided several generations of us with fun. Very clever how it interprets each persons answer. The jokes are real dad jokes. It controls my lights and turns onoff at command. It provides the days news at request of good morning. Such a lot more to do with it I am sure, but for a bit of a luddite, its been fab so far.Cons A different array of voices would be fun.

Pros Really good microphone on it … it picks up what you say from quite a distance without having to shout. Mainly got it so the children could talk to it and have music at breakfast time in the kitchen. Really good for that. Also a great translation tool. BT gave me a great price on it.Cons Not found anything bad about it so far….Not sure I would have paid full price for it.

As a smart home control device and media hub, its pretty awesome. It does everything I was looking for EXCEPT the ability to watch cameras attached to your smart home kinda blows. It basically casts the feed to the screen as it would to a chromecast, and it doesnt work well AT ALL. Sometimes it just says feed not available, but I know that it is because I can pull it up on my phone. Usually if it does pull it up, it will only stay for 5 to 10 minutes and then you have to request the feed again. I will say that it works well with nest cameras, as one would hope.

This really is a great device. Sure, it has all the features you would want from a voice assistant including answers to questions, setting timers, and switching on and off your lights compatible devices only of course. You can listen to streaming music and radio as well the addition of a screen gets you the ability to watch YouTube and Netflix and see what is happening on compatible cameras and video door bells. Plus you get an excellent digital photo frame when it is idle.

We absolutely love this Google home product over the Puck. Dont get me wrong, the Puck is significantly better than any alexa product. But the Home hub with the screen is so much easier and somehow we get better results searching and command results with this. Must have and worth the money The goodnight feature to turn off all the lights and arm the alarm system and readshow the temperature and weather for the next day is awesome

like most connected devices i tend to keep this on a very short leash. i have no problems with it but i have the mic turned off as it is next to a tv and often gets triggered. other than that it does what i want display the time. i can turn on the mic when i want to interact but that is very rare. i like that the display dims automatically, the time changes automatically. i would be happier if you could set alarms and such from the app but, apparently, google has not figured out how to do that something amazon echo does easily. i just didnt want a more expensive amazon device. there you go.

This has replaced the google mini thingy which has now found a new home in our bedroom. The new Nest Hub looks very nice in the kitchen, and is very easy to use. My wife wanted it so that she can easily follow recipes on the screen, instead of having to write them down whilst listening to spoken versions. Ive now linked the Nest with the smaller one upstairs and we have music around the house. Im very pleased with it.

Ive only had a chance to use it for a few hours, but this thing is incredible. The setup process with Google Home was quick so I could immediately get it to control my lights and AC. It has a lot of really smart features, like how it switches to a night mode when the lights go off at night. The microphones are crazy good. They pick up my voice and commands from across the room without me having to raise my voice. Its also nice that it can play you the news and you can use it as a mini TV to stream YouTube and other content from you phone. Speaking of content, it can connect to your Spotify and Netflix and play stuff. This is the perfect bed side companion. This is an alarm clock reimagined. Get it. You wont regret it.

I absolutely love my Google Home Hub It has a beautiful screen and the speakers on it are very nice. It seems to be pretty intelligent too, compared to the Alexa that my parents have. We already have a Nest thermostat and we just got a Nest doorbell and camera to use for our nursery, and Im very excited that all of these devices work so well with the screen. Now if I have a babysitter over, they can just look at the screen on our Google Home Hub to see whos at the door, or to keep an eye on our baby, instead of having to download the Nest app on their phone. I also really like hearing about the day and the news in the morning as Im making breakfast. I dont have time to sit down and watch the news, but its nice to have a brief update while Im in the kitchen. Mostly, we use it to play music on Spotify, which is so nice Christmas day we had Christmas carols going nonstop Im impressed at how well it can hear commands, even with music going. Overall, this is a great device, especially if you are already using other smart devices in your home.

I have majority Amazon Alexa Echo products but wanted a Google Home Hub to connect seamlessly with my Nest thermostat and Google Hello Doorbell. I have this hub as my smart bedside clock and it looks and works brilliantly. I can see who is at the front door if the doorbell rings and I am still in bed, say goodnight and all the smart switches in the house switch off. Highly recommended.

I purchased two of these and the Nest Hello which is the doorbell camera. The Nest Hello works seamlessly with the Google Nest Hub. When someone rings the doorbell their image pops up on the screen. I put one of the units at the front door so who ever greets new arrivals can see who it i sbefore opening the door.I have the other one in my bedroom so I can see who is at the front door from my bedroom too. When someone rings the doorbell both Google Nest Hubs and my google minus let me know someone is at the front door. The hub works much like a Google hub or the hub minis but better as they have a clear 7 inch screen. So far so good.

So this is nothing more than a Google Assistant with a speaker. But I use it so much more than I expected and ended up buying 2 more after the initial one. Now I have one in the bedroom, the office, and the kitchen. Favorite features include streaming YouTube TV to it, showing my Google Photos album to it, and the ambient display. The ambient display is good, very good in fact. But I didnt think it lived up to all the hype I heard about it… with warm LED lights for example, the ambient display made my photos too warm color wise for my taste. Also, its good but not quite photo prints quality, so dont come in with the expectations I had and youll be happy. Its a tad small, but overly so. It works well on a desk in the office or the kitchen counter. I do wish they made it just a little bigger even 8 would have been nice. My guess is that its coming. The mic is OK, marginally better than the Google Home Mini, but worse than any Amazon Echo devices, especially when picking up my voice from a long distant or even close when theres loud music playing. My phone ding more on the Hey Google keyword in the same room than the Google Home Hub. So given the above, 45 is the right rating for me. Make a bigger display with a more sensitive mic and Ill give it a 5

Pros Set up easy, nice photo frame, small and neat.Cons Poor sound quality from small speaker, google should take less control of selection of photo quality , google is also discontinuing its google photos this year unless you pay a subscription which means after that no further photos will be uploaded unless you pay, it also seems to want to slow the rate at which the slide show is used. When you first have the product it works perfectly as a group when a nest mini is added however after about two weeks it starts to cut off after every 45 min session on music streaming services. Radio however plays until stopped.

Pros Love our Google Home Hub. Great for setting timers, setting reminders great to play the radio on in the kitchen and a great picture frame that shows us our favourite pics in rotation. Love it. Didnt think I would, but really love it.Cons Sadly it doesnt link as well as it could with Nest Cams. It will show you the camera view but you cant get it to set alerts for example if someone is approaching the front door. The Nest Doorbell apparently can do this, but not the cameras, which is a shame.

I decided on Google as opposed to Amazon for a display device because the smarts behind Google were probably more capable for Google. Alexa is much more of a voicedevice Google has much more experience in presenting information visually. The Google Home is a delight. Works really well. It plugs into a mains socket for its power. It doesnt have a battery in it, so you cant move it for example to a more convenient spot if youre following a recipe without it turning off. Saying OK Google, Good morning to it will make it give a run down of your days diary, the weather, and the news headlines. This is the default its all configurable from a smartphone app. The sound quality is good, and the display is good too. When its not in use, we have it randomly displaying photos from my photo collectio. Its easy to choose which photos youd like you can for example tell it OK Google, show me photos taken in Greece. One criticism of the display though the brightness level can be set to your desired level, or it can automatically vary according to the light. This automatic level is not high enough the control for brightness should allow the ambiencelevel lighting to be adjusted. The size is just about right. Amazons screen is much bigger. I bought the Google Show to put in our kitchen, next to where wifey keeps The Diary. She is very much a paperdiary person, so I bought the gadget to allow her to easily see whats on my Googlebased diary. And, amazingly, she actually does use it A command of OK Google, whats on the calendar for Friday gives a neat display of my days diary. And she even uses voice commands to add stuff to my diary the designers have a really good dialogue implemented to guide you through adding a calendar entry. A shame that you have to say OK Google to get it to activate. Its a bit impersonal I much prefer Alexa for the Amazon device. Psychologically this makes Alexa feel more human shes a she, whereas Googles is a thing. Many people will no doubt think this is a good thing, but Id like the ability to configure a different trigger word. Overall, very pleased with it, recommended. 5

Like most Google products, this one is vastly underwhelming. It doesnt really do much of anything. The touchscreen is not at all responsive. The software also has a lot of bugs. In the 1 year Ive owned the device, Google has only pushed out 1 update. Obviously, this product is not much of a priority for Google.

With a smart home set up, it was a fine centerpiece to the collection. The touch screen allows us to turn up the heaterairconditioning and adjust the volume of the TV. These can also be done through voice commands. Walking in and asking for light the lights to turn on is great when your hands are full or corralling small children. It also doubles as a digital photo frame when in stand by mode.

I waited a few weeks to review this product because I really wanted to get a good feel for it. I received the Hub right before Christmas, set it up on my kitchen counter and googled the Christmas cookie recipes I wanted to use. The Hub found the ones I wanted, and then I had the option of it reading the ingredients to me or going right into telling me the recipe step by step. In order to go from one step to the next you have to either touch the button on the screen that says, next step or say Ok Google, next step. Saying that every time feels a little clunky, but overall its pretty awesome to be able to go through a recipe like that instead of scrolling through my phone or trying to read a recipe book. I already have the Nest thermostat, two Nest cameras and the Nest doorbell, so I was able to connect them all quickly and easily and start using this as a smart home Hub for all my devices that were compatible. I love the Routines feature. You can set it to do things in the morning, when you come home, even at night. All you have to do is say the right phrase like, Google, good morning or Google, good night. Right now I have the Hub set so that when I say good night it turns on the lamp in the living room, turns on the AC upstairs and tells me the weather the next day. If asked, it can show me whats going on in the backyard, front door and the living room thanks to the integration with my Nest equipment. It works with so many smart home products out there right now and I am looking forward to adding things so I can make my Home Hub even more useful. My only complaint is that it does not work well with Apple and since I have an iPhone I cant sync my calendar. I have to use Outlook for work, so I dont want to take the time to set up a Google calendar. It froze one time when using a recipe, but overall it have been a very helpful device.

This is the 2nd Google Nest Hub I bought for my home. This one is sitting in our dining room to provide some music while I am dining. Before I decided to buy this unit, I had compared with other Google speakers. I found that yes they may provide better sound etc., however I like the small display that can show me the time and outside temperature. I had the same unit in my kitchen and am very please with it. So I decide to buy this unit. The setup is smooth and quick. The response when I ask it to play music is always great. It is good value for the money and fit perfectly for my use.

This has become a nifty little gadget. It syncs nicely with our android phones. If you have any of the accompanying speakers, you can send a broadcastpage message that will play on all the speakers. We got a light for the room that you can control with your voice ok google, turn offondim the lights, an app on your phone or from this hub. This one cant do video calls only voice. They do have a larger one that will do video calls. You can watch YouTube videos, stream music Pandora TV. Our 6 year old is having a blast with it and so are the rest of us, especially as we find other uses for it.

Meh, its google listening to everything you say, but figured it was a good cheap picture frame which it does well. Disappoint and my fault not looking at picts closer that while I bought the charcoal version the bezel is still white which makes no sense Also google assistant is in to herself and is the motherinlaw that wont shut up. For example, ask it the time and after you get the time you then get an endless stream of what you can do like set alarms, set reminders, blah blah blah…All I wanted was the bleeping time not a dissertation. And google assistant likes to brag after turning off a light, just shut the front door up and turn off the light…I dont want to hear how proud you are that execute a simple and stupid command Google has made me realize just how far behind they are in AI.

Got a few of these in the kitchen, study the latest has replaced my clock radio. Easy to use, and Argos had it at a great price delivered really fast. Just note that to unlock all its abilities, you may need to set the language to US English. Set to UK English, it wouldnt set a media alarm. Once set to US English, I was able to set alarms that play music from online services or Internet radio.Great to control other Google home smart devices. Music through the speaker is surprisingly good

I got Google Home Hub for one purpose at my desk at work. Walmart had it on sale for 99 so I thought Id give it a go. I was primarily looking for a streaming speaker for music at work. I dont like Bluetooth speakers, because they blast everything else, phone rings, pesky notifications, etc. A streaming speaker only plays what is streamed to it.Of course, Google Home Hub doesnt need to be streamed in order to play content. You can also play content on demand by voice command. Music, YouTube videos, newscasts and more. But there is a whole lot more for this device the video screen can stream videos, cycle pictures like a high quality electronic picture frame, has Google Assistant. So, it packs a LOT.The big thing for anyone to consider is that this a NOT like a smartphone or tablet. This is a Google Home device. Think of it as a Google Home speaker with a video screen, which gives you a very basic level of interaction NOT like a smartphone or tablet… thats not its purpose. If you are looking for smartphonetablet functionality, this is not the device for you. Remember this is a GOOGLE HOME device, similar to the speakers. You can interact verbally with Google Assistant for a world of information, ask for the weather, your schedule, etc.Video quality is surprisingly good. Better than I expected. The light sensor does a good job automatically setting the screen brightness where it should be.Sound quality is surprisingly good… not high end audiophile stuff, but a good, full sound. I love classical music and it works well. It is not a stereo speaker, however wish it was.The build and form factor are solid, simple and attractive. No cheap quality about it as well. Google did a very good job with quality on this device.I had it at home briefly and tested it with smart plugs, TV, etc. It worked great with those. When Google Chromecast first came out, I was an early adopter. Back then, there were only a dozen apps that could stream to it. I knew that would change. Now there are thousands. Similarly, Im getting in ground floor on the Google Home Hub. Im looking forward to Googles continued development of apps and services for this device

Ive had the regular home for about 4 years now, it started to act up so I decided to get the Hub and I love it. None of the issues I had with the home and I love the video screen, now I can watch football while cooking I have 5 Chromecast Audio devices not sure why they stopped making them so I have music streaming to every room in my house…..same music or different music in each room. Also have my thermostats, TV, receiver and lights connected to it. Im so happy
